I love this book. it’s a mix between PNR and UF, so you get a little of both worlds. There is no HEA in this one. If you like a book where a woman is torn between two loves and you like to read about vampires fighting with fangs out and blood everywhere, teleporting in on you when your not expecting it, abilities to telepathy, an air of danger around them.

Kismet is a PH.D , A vampire shrink, to those who believe to be vampires, but are they really? Kismet thinks not. So one of her clients tells her that Dev (Devereux) the leader of the vampires wants to met with her after hours, of course, Kismet agrees. Well little did she know what she was getting herself in to. As soon as she sees him she has feelings for him of lust etc, but what she dosen’t know is Dev has known her for way over hundreds years. Dev will take all the action necessary to keep Kismet, so be prepared he is sneaky.

Devereux is a vampire I like to read about. he is kind, but he has the ability’s as in top paragraph plus some and is not afraid to use them to get what he wants. Plus he is top vampire, so he has a bad guy side, its yummy!

The downside to this book is Kismet is very stubborn and at times it really got on my nerves.

***Spoiler***
Here is a chopped up passage form the book, its my favorite.
Imaging if you would, you meet a dangerous vampire and you go to his club he takes you to look around where he stays, you see his is an excellent painter, he has one of his mother you can see they resemble quite a bit, then he starts telling you about his life before he became vampire, he tells you he was schooled in magic and art, that his family comes for a line of wizards and witches and he has talents and he became a seer. Then he goes to a cabinet and opens it and pulls our a canvas of a painting of you. And you say “ when did you have time to paint this?” then you notice something in the painting, your wearing the same items at that moment and he has never seen them. Then he tells you, “this woman in the portrait haunted me, she filled my dreams for years until I would surely go mad and she spoke in to my mind a repeated word” “Kismet” So I thought this painting was my fate, my destiny I have waited patiently for her to find me, after years I put the painting away. And its been locked away until now. And all you can say is “Are you saying this painting is not recent?” “when was it painted?” then the vampire says, “Over 800 years ago!”

Now this is what happened between Kismet and Dev. if you liked that, then you have to try the book.
I read both of these books last year, I'm going back and picking my fave's and doing reviews on them. I will get to the second book, but I have so many to read I wanted to get this one in. I wanted tell you the second did not disappoint its just as good. Linda Hilburn is brilliant!

Review Riding the Strom by Sydney Croft

Click here to check the website for the ACRO series.
Author: Sydney Croft
Rating: Extremely Hot!!!
Caution: There is one brief scene of M/M

I loved this book. It's got a ton of sex and just as much action. Guess what? Sometimes you get both at the same time. Try to figure that out! Ha! I read about sex in the kitchen, sex in the yard, sex on a boat and that's just the first few chapters!! It certainly had me fanning myself. So here's what it's all about.

Remy is an ex-seal with the ability to control the weather, but with a big catch; the weather controls him also. As in he has to have sex when a storm hits.
Haley is a parameterologist that is sent by her agency, ACRO, to study and determine if the stories Remy’s father is telling are true. If so she is to bring him to join her agency before ITOR gets to him because ITOR doesn’t give their recruits an option of joining. They are in it to use the recruits and their extraordinary powers for their own dangerous advancements.

Is Remy really connected in some way to Mother Nature? Absolutely!

After Haley pays Remy’s father to call him to come home due to an emergency, she's already gotten set up at Remy’s cabin when he arrives during a nasty storm. She finds out immediately how much the weather does have a hold on him and realizes her plan to study Remy as a professional isn’t going to be possible. She just can’t stay away from him and why would she want to? Remy is much more than she expected and he has a sexual appetite to match his appeal.

The book jumps right into the hot and heavy between Remy and Haley and they come together with a bang after Remy realizes he doesn’t have to hold himself back with Haley like he did with other women. The sex is steamy!

There are two other ongoing stories in the book with just as much heat going on. The second one, with Creed and Annika, is so hot!! Those two have a lot of sexual tension to work out. It looks like these two additional stories are going to carry over in each book of the series. I can’t wait to see what happens with them.

Sexual-HOT!

I really like this series. If you are a PNR person that would like to try erotica books this series would be a good start they are full of humor, danger, adventure, romance, sexy shape-shifters and great sex to boot. The downside for the whole series it each book contains quite a bit of cuss words.

Who wouldn’t love a woman that takes a tiger’s (the hillbilly, Nik) credit card and spends over 20 grand on the first day, you can say that what you get for your bothers kidnapping me.

In this book the last friend of the trio Angelia gets to find a mate. Angelia is just like her friends Sara and Miki she takes no bull (lets just say she is really a grouch! no ,sunshine about her.) so waking up after being kidnapped with a hillbilly tiger staring at her does not make her day. Things get interesting when she ends up staying a few days and uses Nicolai’s credit cards for shopping then the excitement begins.

At one point Nik brothers are in tiger form and brings her dead animals for an offering then starts fight over her until the hillbilly (Nik) steps in and stops all three brothers form fighting over her and jumps in the pool as a tiger, she is on the phone the whole time to Miki and when he comes out of the pool naked, well needless to say she couldn’t speak or close her mouth until Nik the hillbilly tells her “ catchen’ fly’s sugar”. This whole scene is so funny I was LMAO..

I really liked Nik you will feel sorry for him at times, the way Angelia is such a grouch, but he knows how to deal with her, he takes it slow and plays with her just like a cat until he pounces and there is no turning back for her then.. This is book three its best to read them in order, so you know how this kidnapping comes about and other things.

Monthly topic. Ereader, Kindle or what?

I wanted to start a new monthly chat, (once a month). So this month I have came up with a little problem and hope you can help. I wanted to see what you prefer in the Ereader line. I only buy books, but now that we have started the blog, I see there are so many authors that do ebooks etc. I have both of my computers overloaded with Sims games, so I can't download in mine. So what I thought I would do is see what you think I should get for my birthday. So me and hubby can get along:) because I will have to go to his computer to download.

I'm clueless in what to get, so please tell me what you prefer, so I can get the right one.

Thanks Laurie

Author Interview with Sherri Lee Claytor

Hi everybody, well guess what I got the chance to chat with a new author. Her name is Sherri Lee Claytor, she is the author of "After the Fall of Night" and here's a little bit more about her and her new book I just finished reading.

Stacey– Tell us what got you interested in not only writing, but PNR writing?

Sherri- First of all, thank you, Stacey, for the interview. About writing, since I can remember, it’s always been something I wanted to do. I never seem to find the time I’d like for reading, between family and writing, but when I do, it’s typically a ghostly tale or paranormal romance that I reach for. This is what sparks my interest. I love creating these stories where anything goes and growing with the characters—vampires, werewolves, ghosts, etc.

Stacey- Can you give us a little background on your Vampires and what motivated your story-line?

Sherri- After researching vampires, I sat down and put together an outline, and the story just seemed to evolve on its own. I started with Corin, trying to stay true to the original idea of a vampire. However, I didn’t want the story to grow stale, so I decided to mix it up with otherworldly immortals. I hope to expand on some of these characters in the future.

Stacey– Do you have plans to continue the story-line? If so do you already have an idea of how many books are going to be in the series?

Sherri- Yes. I left an open window and hope to do a sequel.

Stacey- It was interesting how you brought out the different vampires from another dimension, do you have any more twists planned now that we see there is a whole other world out there?

Sherri- I would like to delve more into the Eleventh Dimension. I believe there is a lot more to be told in both worlds.

Stacey- “After the Fall of Night” seems to have a hint of Urban Fantasy in it, will you stay within the Paranormal Romance genre or begin to blend into Urban Fantasy with your future books?

Sherri- I’ll probably touch on other genres but most likely continue to incorporate supernatural elements into whatever I write. And I’ll always have a special love for paranormal romance.

Stacey- And finally anything else you would like to tell the readers? What plans you do have for any upcoming books?

Sherri- I’ve just finished a supernatural fiction novel called “Valley of the Shadow” that I’m ready to submit to editors. Following this, I have a couple of other projects already in the works, one is a paranormal romance and the other a sci-fi/fantasy series that I’ve been wanting to tackle for some time. Wish me luck. lol

Thanks again Sherri for the great interview and I definitely wish you. I look forward to what's next!!

Book Review Sherri Lee Claytor,

I want to thank Sherri for giving me the chance to read and review her book "After the Fall of Night."

After the Fall of Night
Author: Sherri Lee Claytor
Format: ebook

Description from back of book:

Jackson County, Wisconsin was a tranquil area of the globe, until murder struck the small community. The local sheriff investigates and begins unearthing things he never imagined possible.

An immortal shape-shifter...

Nightwalker, Corin von Vadim, inhabits a secluded sprawling estate in the town of Hixton. An enigmatic loner, he hides the fact that during the daylight hours, he rests within the dark confines of the earth, only rising after twilight--a routine he has carried out for five hundred years. Unnerved by the arrival of a sinister newcomer, with the help of two allies--a mortal and an otherworldly daywalker--he is forced to protect his home from invading evil.

She is mortal...

Angelique Jaffler--a dark-haired beauty drawn to the night--has captured Corin's heart. But can she accept his supernatural world where shape-shifiting immortals are not myth, but reality? And when she becomes a pawn in the sordid game of a rival, will Corin be able to save her from the monster's deadly clutches? Beware the setting of the sun and listen for the call of the wild wolf crying out its warning of immortal presence. You see, this is their time--after the fall of night.

My review:

Corin is a Nightwalker that has lived 500 years by keeping to himself. Over the years, he has allowed only a few humans close enough to his life to really know him. Angelique and her brother Tomes are his neighbors but have never really gotten to know him since he (supposedly) just arrived in town a month ago as the heir to his uncle Victor Von Vadim.

Corin meets Tomes in a cemetery after Tomes has just buried his wife who was killed by a serial killer attack and drained of all her blood. Tomes is against Corin from the beginning, believing he is responsible for his wife's death because he believes, after much research, that Corin is a vampire. Once Corin convinces him that he isn't the killer, the two men form an alliance to find the real killer. Throughout the book we see Corin meeting Angelique and revealing through his memories and her own how they have each been affected by the other for many years. Angelique doesn't know Corin's secret of being a Nightwalker but Tomes, of course, does. He is totally against the relationship between his sister and Corin and out of respect for Tomes; Corin tries to keep distance from Angelique. Angelique though, is not having it.
With Corin and Tomes working together and Sheriff Pierson breathing down their backs they have little time to solve the mystery before Corin is arrested as the killer. Marshall Jordon Black becomes unexpectedly involved after showing up in the small town claiming he has been following the killer for over two years. Before or after Sheriff Pierson arrives at a crime scene he is there, but what exactly his story is brings an interesting twist to the ending.
The book is mystery and romance combined. The strength of the book is the mystery and what I liked about this story was that we, as readers, knew the mystery, so I was free to enjoy the romance without wanting to rush through to the end. There were a few scenes that had me wondering how they fell into the story-line, but as soon as I hit that spot the next page made up for it! I chalk that up to a newly published writer learning her skill!!

She left an opening for the next book so I can't wait to see what she has planned for Sheriff Pierson or Marshall Black. I’m looking forward to reading what’s next for her vampires!

Check out her interview if you haven't already and if you would like to purchase a copy of the book click here. See what Sherri Claytor is about!!

Happy readings!

Sexual- Hot!
A great quick read. Elsa didn’t agree with the pack law (from book one) to take on three male mates, so she left and when out on her own in the wild she was free, until one day while tying to have a nice buck dinner a hot black fur werewolf came across her path wanting her submission and things would never be the same. I really liked this book it has the action that goes with werewolf’s, plus just the right amount of hot sex and storyline so neither gets dull.

Rick and Elsa are great together it took him a while to win her trust, but when he did she took on the queen for Rick and the whole pack. You’ll find there romance builds as they go.
