Paranormal Romance - Vampires

HOT! HOT! HOT!

Excellent Ending for this series - I couldn't put the book down and read it straight through.

The Order of the Silver Palm finally comes to an end when Villiers the Order's leader tries to bring back Lilith through the ritual where "The scripture says, 'The noble organs of five fallen women mixed with the blood of five first-generation vampires will give the Mother life, freeing her from her prison.'That is what's needed to give her form." Pg 332

However, in order for Lilith to take form, he has to sacrifice his chosen one which happens to be Vivian, a girl he bought from a circus when she was real young and raised her knowing she was a decendent straight from Lilith. Vivian however doesn't know this growing up and doesn't find out until after she has fallen in love with Temple.

So in this ritual, Villiers plan works up to the point of using Vivian as bait to draw Temple in and his Bloodbrothers of the blood but gets a big surprise when Lilith doesn't use Vivian's body for Liliths form to go into and inhabit.

Villiers gets another surprise, bringing Lilith forth and his expectency of her being thankful and granting him anything he wishes for - well is not what he gets. Actually this pisses Lilith off that he would harm her children and actually kill Vivian when he realizes he's not going to get what he wants. All hell breaks loose and The Bloodbrothers and Lilith tear the place apart. Villiers meets his end but Temples love is laying on a table dead and his heart is breaking.

Lilith and the Bloodbrothers feel his pain and Lilith takes Vivian in her arms and gives her immortality by turning her into a vampire then gives her to Temple and tells him to take care of her for eternity.

I loved how this story ends - Now that the Order of the Silver Palm is completely destroyed and Lilith has been brought forward and freed, she needed to learn about the earths people so she ends up staying in Clare, Irland where Temple had bought a place that was a school that worship the goddess Lilith - what better way to have the goddess herself teach at her own school while she learned about the humans way of life.

All the Brotherhood return back to their lives and some of them actually even have children later on in life and Lilith eventually leaves the school in hunt for Sammael, the man who had originally imprisoned her in to the chalice that the Brotherhood drank from in the beginning. Who knows, maybe one day she will catch him - I feel sorry for him if she catches him - LOL

Once again, great ending for the series.

Book Description
Centuries ago, this magnificent chalice sealed my fate as a vampire, and now I am its protector. Many have hunted me for it, but only Vivian has accomplished the task. Strong, lovely, haunted . . . I am more attracted to her than I should be, yet her loyalty lies with a man determined to bring about my destruction. But I am not so easily locked in a cage, and now the captive has become the captor.

Though her stormy eyes tempt me, there is too much at stake—not merely my life, but the lives of my vampire Brotherhood. And I am not above using Vivian to achieve my goals, even if it means denying my own heart. The battle to end all battles is just beginning, and I must fight . . . if I could only let my desire be damned.”

Interview with Lorie O'Clare for Strong, Sleek and Sinful

We are very excited to bring you an interview from award winning author Lorie O'Clare for her new release of Strong, Sleek and Sinful due out March 30th. Please check out her website link at the end of the post, Lorie has written quite a few books in different genre, you may find just the book you have been looking for.

Now lets get started!

Laurie
Who is Lorie O'Clare? Please, give us a low down about yourself.

Lorie O'Clare
Who am I? Well, I'm a 44 year old mother of three intelligent, handsome, wonderful, obnoxious teenage boys. There are days when I can't wait for all of them to move out, and other days when I dread that day because they'll be gone. I'm a published author with somewhere around 60 books released. I write for Ellora's Cave, St Martins and Kensington. I love to paint in my downtime. You can see some of my artwork on my website. I love roses and dream of beautiful flower gardens surrounding my home someday, with the perfumed scent of so many different colored flowers fragrancing the air and offering beauty no matter what window I look out of. I try putting a few more bulbs in the ground every year. I'm a clean freak and have an odd habit (although it seems like a good trait to me) of cleaning to get the circulation going after sitting and writing at the computer for a while, or cleaning once a chapter is finished to help develop and prepare the next part of the story in my head before writing it. I absolutely adore each and everyone of my heroes and heroines from all of my books and spend time with them often in my imagination, so sometimes I clean and daydream, or rock on my porch swing and fantasize about being in the different worlds I've created. Overall, I'd say I'm a pretty normal lady.

Laurie
How would you describe Strong Sleek and Sinful for those of us who have never heard of it?

Lorie O'Clare
Strong, Sleek and Sinful is the third book in the FBI Sex Crimes Series. Each book can stand alone and although the hero or heroine can be found as a minor character in the previous book, otherwise the books are not connected. Strong, Sleek and Sinful is a very steamy, sensual romantic suspense. My publisher hasn't labeled it as erotic romance but as mass market steamy romance. I'll let you in on a little secret though, I wrote the book the same way I'd write a book for Ellora's Cave. Strong, Sleek and Sinful is a story about a local cop, Lt. Perry Flynn, who isn't married, but has four nieces who he actively helps his widowed sister raise. When someone starts impersonating a high school boy on the Internet and kidnaps, rapes and murders high school girls, Perry takes the crimes very personally. He'll kill to protect his nieces. An FBI agent, Special Agent Kylie Donovan, comes to town to impersonate a teenage girl and take the perp down. The catch, it's believed the perp might be a cop. So although our heroine and hero are making things more than a bit steamy, our heroine is working double time to show her boss that Mr. Sexy cop isn't their perp. This book is as suspenseful as it is erotic. It's the kind of book I would love to read and so obviously why I wrote it. I hope others find it as exciting and stimulating as I did.

Laurie
Can you give us a peak at Strong, sleek and sinful main characters?

Lorie O'Clare
I partially answered this in the previous question, but our hero Perry Flynn is married to his job. He's a damn good cop, one of the best detectives in Mission, KS, a town just outside Kansas City. Perry is tall, well built, and when in uniform, could cause traffic accidents. I drooled enough while writing this book I almost had to buy a new keyboard. :-) The city keeps it quiet when they discover a cop would be the logical suspect to their Internet predator, but it's hard to keep something from Perry. He won't be intimidated by the Chief, or anyone else. The worse of all crimes is being committed in his town and if he finds the bastard first, he'll kill him.
Kylie Donovan lost her older sister when they were in their early teens. Her sister had been popular, pretty, and loved by everyone--everything Kylie wasn't. When she's abducted while walking home and found raped and murdered a few days later, Kylie's childhood ends. The man who hurt and killed her sister was never found, but today, no perp goes unpunished if Kylie is on the case.
She and Perry lock horns the second they meet, but sparring with a gorgeous man often does one thing to a beautiful woman. Kylie tries resisting Perry's charm, knowing when he learns she is undercover, he'll hate her for not telling him, but his sexual magnatism is too strong. They will either work the case together, or take each other down trying to catch their perp first.

Stacey
Have you ever used someone you know as an idea for one of your characters?

Lorie O'Clare
Not really. But I've used traits that have appealed to me in someone, or certain facial expressions, or sayings, but I've never used all traits from one individual to create a character. Mostly all of my people come straight out of my imagination.

Stacey
Any chance we can look forward to seeing any of our favorite characters again in Strong, Sleek and Sinful?

Lorie O'Clare
Perry Flynn is mentioned briefly at the end of Long, Lean and Lethal. Kylie is only in Strong, Sleek and Sinful. The FBI Sex Crimes Books all pretty much stand alone. Now my next series with St. Martins won't be stand alone books, they will each grow from the previous book, although as with all my series, any book in the series could be read on its own and enjoyed.
I absolutely love your books written for Ellora's Cave. Can we expect the same intense romance from your Sex Crime Series or are we going to see more action?
I write exactly the same with all of my publishers. There is the same amount of action, sensuality and sex scenes in all of my books, regardless of who publishes them. I want someone to see a Lorie O'Clare book and know they'll be getting a strong plot with all the satisfying sex everyone loves.

Stacey
Can you give us any hints to what you are working on next? Do you plan on continuing the Sex Crime Series indefinitely?

Lorie O'Clare
My next series with St. Martins will be a Bounty Hunter Series. The first Bounty Hunter book, Play Dirty, comes out October 2010.
My next series with Ellora's Cave is the Black Jag series, which will be a series of at least five books about black jaguars. As with all of my shapeshifter books, the jaguars are in the same world with the owls, lunewulf, Cariboo and leopards. You never know what old characters might pop in to say hi.
I've also agreed to write two more island books for Kensington. You'll probably see them released sometime next year.

Stacey
Since you have written both Paranormal and Non-Paranormal, do you prefer one genre over the other to write about? Do you think writing paranormal stories offers more freedom for creativity?

Lorie O'Clare
Writing Paranormals definitely gives me freedom to explore that I don't have in Romantic Suspense. But when I write my para's, the shifter is limited to the ability of whatever animal they shift into. I spend a lot of time learning about that animal, or raptor, before writing the books. So not only do I know my character in his or her human form, but also know them just as well in their animal form. Every animal has traits that make them unique, those can't be made up. At least not for me. If an owl can see a mouse run through the grass two miles away, then my shifter can watch his female sneak out of her house from a two mile distance.
So there are always limitations. A wolf doesn't run as fast as a leopard. That's just a fact. I don't create animals that don't exist, at least I haven't yet. And it's the same way with my romantic suspenses. There isn't such a thing as a perfect human. Most of us are actually pretty flawed. My characters are that way, too. We aren't all good and we aren't all bad, but often a mix of both. That is how I mold my characters, with their faults often as obvious as their qualities.

Laurie
Please, tell us about your project HEA.

Lorie O'Clare
HEA is a brand new fund raiser I've decided to get started to see if I could help those who might lose their homes. Foreclosure is such a dirty, terrifying word to most of us. We don't like talking about it, thinking about it, and God forbid, if any of us are going through it, we sure don't want anyone else knowing. It is the most terrifying thing many of us can think about. The thought of losing our home, a place where many of us have raised our children, have pictures on the wall that have been there for years, and attics or basements full of furniture and other items we don't use anymore but save for if our kids might need them someday. Our houses are the foundation, the structure, of our families and as much a part of us as a family member.
You can check out HEA on my website at http://www.lorieoclare.com/keep-the-hea-in-our-lives/ HEA is a work in progress. I want to help those who might lose their homes, possibly those who are already a payment or two behind and are close to foreclosure, or maybe those who have already been foreclosed on and don't know what to do now. I want HEA to be a site where people can anonymously, or not anonymously, share their stories. I want it to be a site where those going through foreclosure to be able to turn and not be harrassed by scams of those trying to make money off of you when you don't have money, and to share stories with those who understand. HEA is a fund raiser. There are items on the HEA site that you can buy. You can donate items to HEA to be sold. Or you can donate cash to HEA. Like I said, HEA is a work in progress. It is a dream of mine to reach out and help and I'm starting it now. I'm always open to ideas and suggestions from anyone who might know a way to reach more people, help more people, or offer more support.
Thanks for the interview. I enjoyed answering your questions. Please check out my website at www.lorieoclare.com. You'll find a link there to ebay where I list most of my paperbacks. You can buy my latest releases or pick up one of my older books not so easily found in bookstores anymore. All books are brand new and personally autographed to you.

Just as soon as I get my Stong, Sleek and Sinful in hand, I will read and review it, so be on the look out in the next few days:)

Laurie's review
rating 3 1/2
Sexual- Medium for an erotic

This book is hard for me to rate, while I really liked some parts, other parts just did’t give me that knock my socks off impression I wanted for a dark erotic romance. This is a good start for a series, Sophie has created lots of hot characters to continue this series. You’ll find lots of good elements of the dark side with magic and excitement and lots of different religions mixed together. There is mention of God, falling angles, of course shape-shifters, Druids, Sidhe even Gabriel the angel makes an appearance.

**Spoilers below**

Mairi and Rowan are the best of friends and have no ideal about the whole otherworld of that’s in the fetish night club called Velvet Haven. Mairi is great she has had a hard life and she ends up with a ability that is very interesting and very powerful. Rowan is very interesting she adds quite a bit to the story with her ability and she has something else going for her, but you have to figure this one our yourself. Mairi, Rowan and the other Otherworld men made this story enjoyable for me to read. Bran I just didn’t care for. It seemed to me like there was to much other things were going on for Bran and Mairi to get a good connection for me to enjoy, this is also in sex its good but they just didn’t make the connection I would have like to have read.

What I didn’t like was there is no mention of Rowan at the end hope she is still alive, the murder is uncaught and no mention on if they are any closer to getting him/them. I didn’t care for Bran as a hero he just left Mairi high and dry to many times for me, here is two things that got me most was the first time he got her all hot then he pretty much had her to leave, then another time after sex he left her in the shower all by herself just high and dry. The more I keep thinking the more I want to take down stars, so I will quit before I get to picky. This maybe a better read for anyone else, I just found things not explained as well as I would have liked and some things explained to much where it took up to much time. Also there is just to much in this book to be able to iron it all out the first time, so you will be looking forward for the next

Paranormal Romance - Vampires

Great HOT! story, I could not put the book down. This is Saint and Ivy's story

Saint has no idea when he drops in to his and Reigns safe haven – Maison Rouge, an upscale whorehouse/brothel to get some rest and to feed, that he would be walking into the after affects of a few murders that took place in the brothel.

A long time ago, Saint rescued Maddie off the streets after she had been cast aside from her lover. Saint takes her and sets her up in the Brothel; Maddie, now the madam, later has a daughter named Ivy. Now that Saint has known Ivy all of her life and watched her grow up, he never knew she had a crush on him when she was 17 yrs old.

After all these years, Ivy is still enamored with Saint but she refuses to give in to him like one of the whores at the brothel. She is much more independent and has a strong will to stand on her own. She is actually a total bitch in the beginning but I admire her because she will not give up trying to find out who murdered her two best friends so brutally. The friend’s vagina organs were actually cut out.

Through the entire struggle to figure out that the murders that happened were either prostitutes of the brothel or patrons who had been there previously. They also note that these murders are like Jack the Ripper style. The friction between Saint and Ivy stirs between arguments until Saint grabs her and kisses her and to his surprise, she turns that kiss into a wild and passionate kiss.

There are some very sweet moments between Saint and Ivy and here are some of his words and thoughts:

”In a country of demure roses and forgotten weeds, she was an orchid.”

”a man cannot embrace a woman’s faults until he loves her. A woman embraces the faults and then falls in love.”

”You do not have to see the air to know you breathe it. You do not have to see the truth to believe it and you do not have to have witnessed love to feel it.”

Saint gets to know Ivy and learns that she is artistic and is great at taking black and white photos which she eventually takes shots of him. Saint realizes that these girls that were murdered were of the ones Ivy had taken pictures of so they know it has to be someone who visits the brothel regularly and is close to them.

Ivy has a caller that is in love with her but she is not sure she is in love with him, he wants to marry her and when she refuses, he takes measures of trying to force her and kidnaps her. Ivy realizes she is in love with Saint and also realizes it was her caller who had been doing the killings.

The boy was part of the Order of the Silver Palm and with the women of his dreams and the organs he collected, he could have a ritual and bring back Lilith and have all the power in the world.

Saint comes to the rescue and kills the boy and his other partners of crime but when they turn to destroy the organs, they are gone, disappeared.

In the end, Saint and Ivy get married and head off to find Temple.

Review Fallen by Lauren Kate

Fallen
Author Lauren Kate
Young reader
Authors website

Book description
There’s something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce–and goes out of his way to make that very clear–she can’t let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.

Jessica's
Review
rating 2 3/4
This book is pretty much about a girl, Luce, who is forced to go to reform school, she sees shadows and makes a few friends and of course, likes a guy…. Well two… Daniel and Cam, they’re both fallen angels. Cam is actually a psycho angel, he gets on my nerves. (I hate when a girl likes two guys or more.) Luce has had other lives before this one where she always ended up finding Daniel, and something always happens to her. So this time he tries to stay away from her as much as possible, which just makes her try to find stuff out about him. She starts to remember some things from when they are together in their past lives; Cam and Daniel end up fighting, like a real angel fight over her. It ends with her being with Daniel and with a lot of unanswered questions.
I really don’t care much for the book. If it wasn't for you actually wanting to know what happens next,it would be a very slow book to read. The first book is defiantly not the best, I’m hoping the second will make up for it, or at least it better.

Paranormal Romance - Vampires

HOT! HOT! HOT!

Another great read. There wasn't the emotional sadnes/happiness that brings you to tears that I was looking for as in the first book in this Brotherhood of Blood Series but the story was good and kept my interest.

**Spoilers**
Bishop (Vampire) and Marika's (Vampire Huntress) desire for each other was very exciting. I found it neat how they both had an obsession for vengeance for their enemies even though their enemies "Monsters" was a description to the individual that was evil. In this case, Bishop wanted vengeance for the humans that killed his kind just for pure evilness and Marika wanted vengeance for being told that her mothers death was caused by a vampire "Saint" which in turn caused her to become half vampire and half human(dhampyr).

As the story goes on, Marika learns that everything she has been told and read about vampires was not true and especially learning that the vampire "Saint" that supposedly caused her mothers death and turning herself into a halfling was not true either. Reality and feelings start to change towards the vampire Bishop whom she thought was a monster and realized it was the humans who did not understand anything about vampires except that they were to be evil and that they had led her astray.

Bishop ends up helping Marika because it also helped himself in finding the disappearance of his friends son. Bishop helped Marika kill vampires that were killing the towns folk and once Bishop explained what type of vampires that were doing the evil killing she began to understand that their were evil vampires and good vampires like there was in humans who killed like they did. The worst of the vampires however was the "Nosferatu" - they were vampires that had become dissed and had deformed bodies that not only looked evil but if you got any of their blood on you or swallowed any of it, the blood would turn the vampire into the noseratu also.

The unfortunate event does happen however and during a raid, a nosferatu does get to Marika and forces her to drink his blood and now she is poisoned and Bishop and his friends Brother Molyneux and Marcus Grey searched for a cure to keep her from turning into the nosferatu.

Well they find the cure - Bishop must turn her into a whole vampire with his pure blood. He saves her life and they end up joining the search with Brother Molyneux and Marcus for Bishops friend Temple who has been captured by the Order of the Silver Palm.

Now that Mirika is a full vampire thanks to Bishop, they are happy and their venture begins.
I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Paranormal Romance - Vampires

Excellent!!! I could not put this book down. I read this in one day. HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5 STARS

I have to let you know that this book brought tears to my eyes at the end.

Chapel and Prudence's romance wrapped me into the story. Prudence's determination to find the Holy Grail not for wealth but for healing really touched me. She was dieing at a young age and she only wanted to live and she did for a short time when Chapel came into her life.

Chapel who has lived for 6 centuries now was immortal from drinking from the Holy Grail/Bloody Grail. It turned him into a vampire but he did not like the idea of being considered a evil Monster so he vowed to the church to protect anyone from ever drinking from the grail again. Only problem was that it was taken and hidden and only a few knew where it was.

Eventually after Chapel first meets Prudence because of her quest to find the Holy Grail, he falls in love with her and she with him. When Chapel finds out her illness he only loves her more and when she finds out about what he is she wasn't scared and only loved him more. However when she figures out that he can save her and give her immortality, she longs for it but Chapel refuses to give it to her because he doesn't want to give her a curse that he believes he's been given and because of his vow with the church to protect every one from the Holy GRail and to redeem his soul so he may go to heaven one day.

But on Prudence's last breath, she tells him that she loves him and he can barley stand it and finally realizes he can't live with out her and finally she is saved.
=====================================
Book description:
I am called Chapel . . .

For nearly six centuries I have roamed the night, a mortal man no longer. Would that I could undo the past -- when I entered the sanctuary of the Knights Templar to wrest from them the Holy Grail, only to discover the chalice I raised to my lips was not the sacred relic but a hellish cup of damnation. Now I shun the day and all things human, driven by an ungodly thirst. And yet...

Never have I known a maiden the like of Prudence Ryland, whose beauty and spirit awaken a heart I feared long cold and dead. But her young life is slipping away, and she also seeks the deliverance of the Grail -- unaware that the cost of her search could be her soul. I must help Prudence, for in six hundred years, no other woman has stirred my passions so. But dare I tender to my beloved that which she most desires -- the sensuous "gift" of forever that is both rapture and a curse: my immortal kiss?

What to say, What to say? I say this is going to be a good series. If you like sexy vampires and sassy witches this will be the beginning of a great read for you. The series itself will be released in volumes. I am reviewing the first 3 chapters of Volume 1, "A Vampire's Kiss". It's easy to see how hot and heavy, Dray and Sara are headed for. The first three chapters give a tease of the story and introduces our main characters.

Sara is as outgoing and outspoken as any female character I've read in a long time, she is too funny! Since this is a spin-off of Stamp's Witchery series you can expect that Sara is a Wiccan Green Witch. Although, I doubt it's the witch in her though that gives her the spunk she definitely has. You will either love or hate her, but either way she grows on you. Drayton, on the other hand, I can't imagine not loving. He's sexy and elegant and oh so sexy! Darn, did I say that already? Well, I'd like to meet him and he sure did catch Sara's attention from the first time she saw him. Sara is completely hooked on vampires so when she meets a sexy Dracula at a friend's party she is in vampire heaven! (little does she know her dream Dracula is a real vampire)
We meet Sara at a costume party dressed as Artemis, who came with friends dressed in other random costumes, such as Ash (which I totally loved and the reference to the Dark-hunters series was not wasted on me!!) and then we meet Drayton dressed as Dracula of course. After introductions and polite talk Sara gets right down to telling Drayton he isn't properly dressed to represent what a vampire looks like. "Oh Really?" Dray asks, "Well do tell", he says with a laugh and you can bet Sara didn't waste anytime telling Dray exactly what she thought because Sara is an expert on vampires, of course!! She's absolutely hooked on them.

That was our introduction to Drayton and Sara. They reach their first kiss by the end of the night when Dray walks Sara home. Afterwords, he asks Sara to have lunch with him tomorrow. Now if you are like me, you're probably wondering how it is that Drayton can walk in the sun. Well it isn't explained in the first 3 chapters so that will be a cliffhanger to look for later, but we do see how Drayton shows up during the day and takes her to a special lunch that he obviously put a lot of thought into. A greenhouse is a perfect place to impress a green witch and heat things up!

So now we're left with a good idea where Sara and Drayton are headed, but Sara still doesn't know that Drayton is a vampire so I wonder how that's going to work out. However it does, it will be fun I'm sure!

And now onto the interview with Laura Stamps:

Hey Laura, thanks for the interview with me. I'm so excited to pick your brain so let's get started!!

1.) First let me ask, for any of the new fans out there, what are you all about? Who is Laura Stamps?
Hmm. People who know me would say that's a verrrry dangerous question. lmao!! Okay, I'm a Wiccan Faery Witch, psychic, and empath, which is why I write paranormal romance. I walk in the "real" paranormal all day long, so it'
s normal for me and what I am used to. If you know anything about the Fey you know they are very sexual. So a Faery Witch is just a fancy name for a Sex Witch (thus, my user name at Twitter). I'm basically a simple slut. Sex-obsessed. Addicted to lust, sex, trashy lingerie, and cocks. Well, you asked! lol

2.) Why erotic writings? Did you always know that's the genre you wanted to write?
I started out as an artist and was an art major in college (a painter). In fact my art prints are still sold worldwide by my art print publisher (Haddad's Fine Arts, Inc.). And my paintings grace the covers of The Witchery Series (until the new publisher republishes them this year with new hunky guy covers...yummy!). I'm also dyslexic, so even though I had always been told I had writing talent, I didn't pursue it. Grammar and spelling were just too hard. Then I wrote my first poem when I was 30, and that was it for me. Career change! *lol* So I started out as a poet. For years I published books of poetry and fiction. I actually wrote my first erotic short story in 1996, but no magazines would accept it. It wasn't until 2002 that the market for erotica finally took off in this country.

3.) How long have you been writing? Have you always wanted to write?
Like I said, I started writing when I was 30, so I've been writing for 23 years (I'll be 53 on April 2...HORRORS!...there must be some mistake, I thought I was 18!). Actually, I always wanted to paint until I wrote that first poem. Then I changed careers, and all I've wanted to do since then is paint with words. So I'm self-taught as a writer and a novelist. However 23 years later my poetry and fiction have been published in over 1000 magazines, literary journals, and anthologies. I've published more than 45 books, and I've won many awards, including a Pulitzer Prize nomination and 7 Pushcart Award nominations. In fact, my writer's resume is over 80 pages long. Okay, when I wanna accomplish something I work realllly hard at it. lol

4.) I absolutely love that you've written erotica with vampires. I don't think there is enough out there.
Vampires are soooo sexy, aren't they? I think they're a natural for hot erotica. The fun thing about A Vampire's Kiss is it's the first novel in my The Manigault Vampires series, which means this is the novel where I get to create the vampire world in Columbia. Major fun! I knew I wanted my vamps to be different. So they're "daywalkers," meaning they can walk in daylight, and it doesn't hurt them. I won't say why because that would spoil some of the fun of the novel. Of course, this doesn't mean they can lay out at the beach and get a tan, but because of the daylight thing it's hard to tell they're vamps. However there are subtle hints. They feed on blood during sex, they're cool to the touch, and their eyes flash to black with bloodlust (which looks a lot like regular lust in a human man, except vamps can do it at will). It was also fun to go into the history of how Dray became a vamp. I won't spoil it for you, but it goes back to the Civil War in Charleston, South Carolina.

5.) Please give us the basics about the Manigault Vampires and the first volume in the series, "A Vampire Kiss".
The Witchery Series trilogy is my main series, and all my other series are spin-off series. They all happen according to the same timeline, so they're a lot of fun to read because you're never lost in each series, and you know all the characters. The Manigault Vampires is my first serialized erotica series. In this spin-off series, you’ll meet Drayton Manigault, the owner of Manigault Technologies and one of the richest businessmen in Columbia, South Carolina. Dray also happens to be one of the oldest vampires in the city. A Vampire's Kiss is the first novel in this series. It's about how Dray finds true love in the form of a spontaneous Green Witch named Sara Gadsden. As a side note, if you're from South Carolina you'll notice right away all the names of my characters are historic South Carolina names. ;)

6.) Did you plan to write the stories as volumes or did it just flow like that?
No, A Vampire's Kiss was written in a classic novel structure as all of the novels in this series will be. It was just the circumstances I suddenly found myself in last month that determined it would be released as a serial. And now that it is, I love it! I think it's a fun and totally cool idea. Here's what happened. 2009 was an insane year for me that had nothing to do with the crazy economy. In March my ebook publisher went out of business weeks before one of my spin-off series (The Rune Witch Series) was to be released. Then I got a new agent in June. I signed with a new publisher (I have several), but that new publisher moved so slowly publishing new books that by February of 2010 I had gone 16 months with no new books being published. HORRORS! The crazy thing is I've been writing all along, and 5 new books have just been waiting at various publishers to be published. That's not fair to me, and it's not fair to my fans. So when Kittyfeather Press offered me the opportunity to turn The Manigault Vampires into a serialized novel series I jumped on it! That means when you read these issues you'll find the chapters flow just like a regular novel because that's the way they were written. Oh, and let me warn you. I'm a dialogue junkie. So my novels read fast, smooth, and hot, and every chapter ends with a cliffhanger so you wanna know what's gonna happen next. Sorry! That's just the way I've always written my novels. lol

7.) What's exciting and unexpected about this series that is different from your others?
Two things. First, Sara is a clone of me. This is the first time I've ever done that. Really. All of my characters are fictional, although Noelle from The Witchery Series does have a bit of me in her. Anyway I thought it would be fun to make Sara just like me. And it was a blast. What I didn't realize is if I made Sara a spontaneous sex maniac like me, I would have a helluva time getting her out of bed with Dray (wait till you hit the next issue of this serial....whew!). And I did. *lol* But it's not her fault, because she thinks like I think. She sees Dray. He's gorgeous and sexy, and she wants him. Done. Sara goes after what she wants. She doesn't waste a minute angsting over anything (as you know). The second thing about this series that is different is the way it was written. Dray and Sara had such a fabulous chemistry that they ran way with this novel. That's a first for me. Not that my novels aren't always character-driven; they are. But Sara and Dray were the first h/h who refused to follow my outline from the first chapter. No kidding. I finally gave up, threw it away after 20 chapters, and let them rule. They did this in the first draft, and they did it again as I edited the final manuscript. However, you'll hear no complaints from me. I always assume my characters are smarter than I am. The stuff they come up with is a million times better. And this is no exception. This is an awesome novel, and I have Sara and Dray to thank for it.

8.) Do you have the whole series mapped about in length or is it open ended right now? Personally I hope it's open-ended. (hee-hee!)
The Witchery Series is a trilogy, and there are three spin-off series: The Rune Witch Series, The Faery Witch Series, and The Manigault Vampires. The first two spin-offs are trilogies. But I always planned for The Manigault Vampires to go on for as long as it likes. Right now I can tell you the A Vampire's Embrace: Book Two of the Manigault Vampires is about Dray's brother, Val. A Vampire's Desire: Book Three of the Manigault Vampires is about their cousin Atwell Gibbs. Both totally sex vamps that'll give you an instant panty-melt. Really. But don't worry. You meet them all in this first novel A Vampire's Kiss. *lusty grin*

9.) Can you tell us what we can look forward to in any of your future projects?
The Rune Witch Series will finally be coming out in the fall. It's about Wynn and Noelle from The Witchery Series. Wynn is one of the sexist shapshifters you'll ever meet. He used to have his own fan club. And that was when he was a secondary character in The Witchery Series. Whew!...that man is HAWT! The Faery Witch Series will be coming out in 2011. It's about Donnie and Savannah from What Witches Want: Book Two of the Witchery Series. They are such a sweet sexy couple I wanted to give them their own series. Did you hear the story about Donnie? Gorgeous bod, long blonde hair, sweet Gamma man. It took me two months to get over him after I finished that novel. Damn, I fell hard for him!
