I have two version's of this review. The first one is more spoilers the next one is less spoilers, so if you want less just keep scrolling unitl you hit less spoilers.

This was a excellent read! Hatfield has a wonderful talent that shows bright in this highly intense action packed sexy book. The talent she has is to take you in depth in the characters in a short length of time and add so many twist and turns you can’t seem to turn the pages fast enough to learn what’s happening next. In this book you get tons of intense action, torture, fighting, (dragons against vampires), betrayal, HOT Sex, and a huge cliffhanger that really makes you want the next book or maybe its two books yep, that’s it two books. I would like to give a warning to those that are of the faint of heart ,there is a lot of torture in the first of the book for both Declan and Alexia, so be prepared it starts right off. With everything going on in this book I never felt lost or confused on who is who or what is what. The way Meagan writes it, its very easy to read and understand.

What would you do if the woman that compels you with hot passion is your enemy? The very one that could have killed or had a hand in killing of your parents, then she is the one that captures you and beats you then throws you in a dungeon. Is she the brutal monster or someone else? If not, is there anyway he can keep her without his family killing her.
They both also have another problem, she is a vampire and his family won’t accept her unless she is a dragon, now how are they going to be able to jump through that hoop.

Now for Spoilers! If you want to know more.
There is so much in this story I don’t want to give out to much, but yet I want to touch on what I enjoyed most, the only thing is I have a problem with that because I enjoyed it all. There’s a war going on between the vampires and the Dragons. Alexia (vampire) is soon to be queen, her mother (named Catija, vampire) is being controlled by the evil general ( named Lotharios, vampire). Alexia’s mother and the evil general kills the King and Queen of the dragons, well lets just say the dragon King and Queen was pretty much tortured to death by them. Now Alexia needs a crystal to have power, so this is were we get into the action, Alexia knows Declan (dragon) has it so she captures him and tortues him to tell her where the crystal is, when he doesn’t comply he is thrown in the dungeon after beaten then beaten some more, later she comes to see him to see if she can get more out of him, but what she finds is an attraction between each other. What Alexia doesn’t know is Declan is the dragon’s King and Queens son. From there Alexia finds things are not as they seem in the vampire world and she now has to help Declan escape while she herself takes beating’s from Lotharios.

I know this is one big spoiler here, I just cant resist. After Declan and Alexia escape Declan is still in week state, but when Alexia is thrown off a cliff he jumps and changes into a dragon in mid flight avoiding the pain and the hard rain trying to get her, This is one intense moment where you really can’t turn the pages fast enough to see how he gets her and makes it back up the high cliff. If I don’t stop now I will giveaway everything and I don’t want to do that. I have to let you know some of this I just wrote will have a few changes as you read the book, I can’t give everything out LOL you’ll also find quite a few more surprise’s yourself.

I do believe this book will hit this top of my favorites of this year right now it’s tied with the top one so far, that’s how much I enjoyed this story. I would recommend this book to anyone that reads PRN reader even some UF readers that enjoy a little sex would like this book.

Sexual Hot!

When I read the back of this book, I was thanking, I don’t think this will hold me, but Lorie proved me wrong! I had a hard time putting it down. I loved the deep that Lorie brings you into this case plus I didn’t feel like I missed anything about the case. I have to hand it to Lorie one thing she does write is dominant men and let me tell you, Perry is a hot one at that. This is one steamy hot action pack suspense, one that will keep you turning the pages to see who is killing these teens and why, especially when one of Perry’s niece’s is dragged into this case, it gets a little tense to see what happens to her.

Spoilers
In this book Kylie is posing as a collage student to help bring down a man that kidnapping teens and brutally murdering them. But here is the catch is there just one man or more? Well let me tell you it sure surprised me when I found out who. Kylie is a great FBI agent. I really liked her strong character she takes these killers down by her gorgeous young looks. Kylie befriends Perry’s nieces to help her cover in write a thesis on teens, from here the story just gets deeper and deeper, will the nieces except Kylie or not? They certainly don’t think she is a collage student for long.

Lieutenant Perry finds a teen porn site and teens starts coming up missing he wants the case. Perry is no pervert for teens, but when he sees young looking Kylie standing by her car looking at a bunch of teens, well lets just say one member became very hard. When Perry sees her with his nieces he doesn’t trust her, Kylie shows signs of not being a collage student, so he has to find out who Kylie really is. Will Perry be able to handle Kylie, his sister and his nieces all at once plus this case? With Perry being a dominant and Kylie not caving in the way he wants it makes the sex extremely hot and there is quite a bit of it.

I also like to include Perry’s nieces doesn’t get in the way of the story. I found they really bring more in to it .
There is an Excerpt of Lories new bounty hunter series coming out late fall in the back of the book its called PLAY DITY. It sounds really good.

Here is the list of books in this series. I will say you dont have to read in order each stand alone and are great at that. Lorie has also an Anthology coming out this year its called, Man of Danger.
1.Tall, Dark and Deadly
2.Long, Lean and Lethal
3.Strong, Sleek and Sinful

This book really surprised me. This is my first read by Patti O’Shea, I loved it. I loved the magic that’s used plus the use of magic fighting against demons and Shadow walkers. Everything is well devolved, so you get a fantastic storyline and characters. Farran and Kal both have messed up lives lets just say they definitely belong together. They both share their bad past life with each other, so you really get to know both of them, I found it awesome the depth the author takes you into their past lives.
This story has just about everything emotions, adventure, magic, action on top of action and a mystery to find out who Farran really is (It shocked me) It takes along time for the sex to come in, but when it happens look out, its scorching hot!

Spoilers
Farran had a horrible past family life, she even has the scar on her face to prove it. Farran has magic. She can do a few things, but she doest think she is very powerful, but when someone comes in her work and takes a picture of her scared face to make fun of her, Farrans whole life changes she some how goes back in time and changes the whole situation. The next thing Farran knows is a Demon is tracking her on her way home, he catches up with her and tries to capture her. Farran know she is to weak to take on a demon, but she fights as much as she can until someone steps in and helps he is a Shadow Walker. After the demon and shadow walker battles it out, Farran gets away from both of them, to find help with her friend Logan. Logan is a troubleshooter, but low and behold Logan is not available, so she has to make do with twin brother Kal.

Kal has a tortured past its so bad he cant even sleep with the light off. When Farran drops in his lap he commits to help her with the Demon and shadow walker. Then he find out she or her family may have helped tortured him he wants nothing to do with her. Farran has to convince him she will not betray him, so it takes a while for these two to trust each other.
I have to say Kal is awesome with Farran. As you read about Kal you’ll find he is really messed up, but they way he treats Farran by protecting her, I found myself AWE.

I didnt know this book was part of a series. goodreads doesnt give you a number or anything that bares it being a series. You know how you feel sometimes when you read a book in the middle of the series like your missing something. Well this one felt like a novel. I was surprised when I looked on Patti's website and found it being number 4 in a series. So now that I loved this one I'm working on getting the first three books.

1.In the Midnight Hour
2.In Twilight Shadow
3.Edge of Dawn
4.In the Darkest Night

This book surprised me, it turned out to be a really good enjoyable read. It’s a vampire romance, but nothing like I have read before. I don’t want to give out to much of this book, its to much fun to unravel the mystery as you go. This is more on a thriller lines, so make sure you can handle being a little scared or disturbed. The romance is not as hot as PNR lines goes, but its really good. I really liked James and how he handled Emma it was really sweet. Emma as you’ll read in this first of the book, she had a very bad experience with a evil vampire and somehow she got out alive where the others didn’t, Five years after the attract, she is working with the local Doc. The local sheriff James keeps cutting his hands somehow to where he has to go to the Doc for Emma to stitch him up, he is always doing this just to be with Emma, but what Emma doesn’t know he doesn’t need the stitches James can heal is own self. You don’t only get to read about James and Emma you get quite a bit of the townsfolk’s to read about also.

My biggest problem was the ending ended to quick. The author has left room for another book, I hope to see it one day.

Shadow Marked
A Demon Bound Novel

The Devil and Miss Quinn...

Samantha Quinn has been in the dark since age six, when her parents sacrificed her sight in a satanic ritual. She is trying to get over her demonic past, but horrific lifelike visions haunt her. Her intuition gets stronger and clearer with a wild, adrenaline-fueled sexual encounter with Jace, her brother’s childhood friend. And now Samantha is more tormented than ever by what she can “see”—and by what she felt in that forbidden encounter...

Samantha must now prevent the deaths she sees in her premonitions and protect her body from the same demon from her twisted childhood. Her dark curse reveals that Jace will be the next victim, and it is crystal clear that she must destroy the demon to protect her love.

Excerpt (unedited, may vary from final copy, c. Anna J. Evans):

Samantha Quinn wasn’t afraid of the dark.

Even when she was walking the edge of the ruins, where the demonic infestation had transformed New York City’s Greenwich Village into a maze of rubble inhabited by bloodthirsty predators, the darkness could be an unexpected ally.

The scary things got cocky in the shadows. Careless. They made noise—claws on the concrete, rough skin scraping along crumbling brick, eager breath rasping through thickly scaled lips—things even a sighted person could hear if they were really listening.

To a woman who’d been legally blind since the age of six, the sounds of an approaching demon were like gunshots—impossible not to notice, and easy to avoid if you had practice. Which she did. A girl couldn’t grow up on the south end of the island without learning how to run and hide.

Or when to pay attention to the feeling that something bad was going to happen.

“I’ll be there in ten, fifteen minutes, tops.”

“Wonderful! We can’t wait to—”

“Gotta hang up. Bye.” Sam tapped the bud clipped to her ear, ending the phone call without waiting for Mrs. Choe to say her good-byes.

Ellen and her husband, Chang-su, had lived in the neighborhood for forty years and raised four children in the wake of the infestation twenty years before—when demons emerging from beneath the Atlantic Ocean had found the habitats they sought in the cities of New York and Boston. The Choes knew there were times when safety dictated the rude termination of a phone call. But they wouldn’t be worried. Demons were easy to avoid if you stuck to the main streets and made a run for it on the rare occasions when the creatures prowled too near the edge of the ruins.

The descendants of the ancient dinosaurs—monsters that had escaped from caves near the earth’s core during a series of massive, worldwide earthquakes near the end of the last century—weren’t particularly quick. They had to rely on their prey being careless and letting them get close enough to employ the demons’ various deadly natural weapons. Sam wouldn’t let them get close. She had these streets memorized, and her ability to distinguish areas of light and dark kept her from running into any large obstacles. Sure, she had her share of spills, but she felt confident she could take care of herself, even on the city streets.

It’s just dumb luck, Sam. Someday you’ll fall at the wrong time and something will get you.

Ah, Stephen. Brother, friend, voice of doom. Why was it always his voice that got going in her head at night, when she was trying to pull off the “brave New Yorker” thing?

Because I’m right. You know I’m right. You should move back in with me so you’ll have someone looking out for you, so you won’t—

Sam did her best to banish her brother’s voice, focusing on where she was going, not where she’d been, increasing her speed until her sandals made tiny scraping noises against the concrete as they chased the white cane tapping ahead. She was on her own now. She had her own place, her own life, and she didn’t need anyone taking care of her, no matter what her brother thought.

The Choes hadn’t been surprised to hear she’d finally gotten her own apartment. But then, they’d never treated her like an invalid or an oddity. To them, she was just another girl from the neighborhood, and the only florist they wanted to handle their daughter’s wedding. Sam was gradually making a name for herself above the demon barricade, but Hand Picked was already the hottest thing going below Fourteenth Street. Arranging flowers based solely on smell and texture created some fairly fantastic-looking combinations.

Sam had never seen any of her own arrangements, aside from the occasional silhouette when the sun shone through her shop window, but she took her clients’ word for it that they were stunning. Old friends or not, the Choes wouldn’t hire less than the best for their daughter. They’d finally gotten Sin Moon hooked up with a nice Korean boy who owned a house in the suburbs, far from the dangerous community where they’d been trapped when property values plummeted in the wake of the infestation. They meant to stage a wedding celebration worthy of such an event. And they wanted to approve every last detail months in advance.

Hence the centerpiece Sam was presently cradling with her left arm. She’d promised to bring the sample arrangement over as soon as she finished cleaning up the shop for the day, no matter what the hour.

But as the pungent smell of fresh demon waste mingled with the scents of lavender and wild roses, she began to doubt the wisdom of journeying out alone after seven o’clock. Demonic attacks had been on the rise in recent months. Attacks always increased in the spring, when the warmer temperatures brought certain breeds out of their winter hibernation, but this year it was worse than usual.

Just like her dreams—worse than usual.

She’d been tortured by nightmares since the night she was six years old. At this point, she couldn’t remember what a good night’s sleep felt like. She was accustomed to bolting awake two or three times a night, soaked in sweat, screaming for the giant, shadowy fingers that crept through her dreams to stop hurting people.

It would have been bad enough if the dreams were just dreams, but they weren’t. Once the shadow fingers touched someone, it was only a matter of time. Cancer, the loss of a family member, the loss of that person’s own life—it was impossible to guess what tragedy would befall the touched, but Sam no longer doubted that tragedy would come.

Knowing suffering was on the horizon was her “gift.” Sam could tell when a bad dream was more than just a nightmare.

She could smell it on the air. Taste it on her tongue, sharp and bitter.

Now time for Anna's interview.

BbPNR-Would you tell us a little about yourself?

Anna-Sure! I'm a work-at-home mom-writer to two little boys. I work a lot, but I try to play a lot too. As a consequence, I don't sleep a lot, but I figure I'll get caught up on that someday...maybe when all my kids are out of diapers. I am also blessed with an amazing husband who puts up with me talking about my characters like they're real people, two stepdaughters who consent to be seen with me in public (occasionally), and lots of imaginary friends.

BbPNR-What is your favorite genre to write?

Anna-I love paranormal romances and mysteries.

BbPNR-What do you like to read, when you have the time?

Anna-Paranormal romances and mysteries :). I also love science fiction and young adult books of various genres.

BbPNR-What do you like to do when you're not writing? Any hobbies?

Anna-My husband and I are wine enthusiasts and love trying new wines. I also enjoy hunting interesting-ness with my camera when I have the time. But mostly, my "hobby" is playing with my kids. Bubbles, kites, pretend, secret-lair building--these are the things I do in my spare time. It's great. I wish they could stay little (but not in diapers) for a few extra years.

BbPNRDo you add any of yourself to the heroines you write in your books?

Anna-Hmmm....well, I think there is always some element of me in my characters. I'm creating them, so the way I think will creep in there no matter what, but I would say I am MUCH sillier and more light-hearted than my characters. Of course, I haven't been through nearly as much angst as most of them. My parents were very sweet, southern folks. They absolutely didn't try to sacrifice me to demons or anything of that nature!

BbPNR-Your book Shadow Marked is due out May 4th. Can you tell us a little about the book?

Anna-I'd love to: Samantha Quinn lost her sight when she was six years old, during a demon-sacrifice gone wrong. Now, years later, she's beginning to see again--the faces of people who are about to killed by the same demons. She enlists the help of her brother's best friend, a sexy demon bounty hunter, to help her figure out the mystery and uncovers some very surprising secrets from her past. And falls in love...of course ;).

BbPNR-Are you planning on writing more PNR? or any plans on making Shadow Marked a series or spin off?

Anna-Yes! I love paranormal romance and will be writing more and Shadow Marked is the first in the Demon Bound series. The second book, DEMON MARKED, will be out next year. It tells the story of Samantha's little sister, Emma, who has her own trouble with demons and men...of course.
Do you have any up coming books that are in the making you can share?

As I said, Demon Marked, will be out in 2011 from NAL's Eclipse line. I also have a new urban fantasy mystery series debuting with Pocket in 2011. I'm not sure if it will be an "Anna" book or written under a different pen name, but I will be sure to keep readers posted as soon as I know! So stop by and visit my site--annajevans.com--or the blog--annajevans.blogpsot.com--for more info.

Thank you so much Anna!

Please vist Anna's website She has lots of goodies for us that likes good HOT romance!

Book Description:
Easy, Big Fella...
Zoo worker Callie Jordan knows something primal when she sees it: take, for instance, the naked man sitting at the foot of her bed. He's the same (naked) guy she saw after hours at the zoo. But now he's in her apartment, and just happens to have turned into a black-as-night jaguar. The average person would be in a blind panic; Callie certainly intends to be--once she finishes processing what this incredibly hot lunatic is telling her...

It seems Callie's visitor, the one who prefers skins to shirts, is Prince Rogar--from a place far, far away. Oh, and Callie is from the same place, has the same nifty shapeshifting powers, and is destined to be Rogar's lifemate! It figures the first hot guy ever to show a bit of interest turns out to be certifiable. Then again, Callie's seen Rogar's powers (plus some other choice things) firsthand--and testing her new roomie's powers of persuasion would be the ultimate walk on the wild side...

Sexual Hot
A fascinating heartwarming sexy story about a woman named Callie, who doesn’t know she has ties with another planet, until one day while working at the zoo she meets a Jaguar, she didn’t see him turn into a man, but the next thing she new there was a naked man talking to her, then the next morning the same naked man was sitting in a chair in her bedroom staring at her. Wouldn’t all women want that? Well Callie doesn’t at first.

Both Rogar and Callie have a exciting adventure together, while Callie is trying to find her animal guide, so she can find her true shape-shifting form. At first try she turned into a bunny, well sad to say she didn’t like that one bit especially with Rogar a Jaguar, because don’t they eat rabbits? she keeps trying several times shifting with hilarious shifts, but none her true form, it takes a while for her to find her true animal guide. In the mean time while Callie is trying to find her animal guide, there is a bad guy on the planet killing all the non-pure bloods on earth and just as you suspected he is after Callie.

This is a great story with humor, adventure, hot sex, friends taking care of friends and finding a lost mother. My only complaint is the ending winded up to quick. Now, I just have to get my hands on Falcon Prince….

My newly arranged TBR pile. Thanks to my daughter

Well when your a mom you tend to brag on anything your child does. Well mine has been board out of her mind. This is how bad. My daughter Jessica took on my TBR Pile she arranged all the books in alphabet order form the first names of the author, she done this in around an hour, when done she said "dont you think you can find what your looking for better?" Of course I said "yes, Now I can find what I what." WooHoo!

I think this was a huge job for a teen, I would like to give her something for this if you have a suggestion plese let me know.
