Discovering an unconscious man who may be vampire, in the neighbor’s yard leads werewolf Tawny Howls down a love path that’s not going to make her father happy. She senses this man is different, but that doesn’t stop her attraction. Werewolves and vampires are traditional enemies, and it doesn’t help when he remembers nothing about his prior life.

Awakening to find a beautiful woman hovering over him, he remembers nothing of his past life. When Tawny decides to call him David, he’s fine with the name and the attention he receives from his nurse. But why does the scent of the prey she hunts excite him more than the food she cooks?

Can the strong attraction between a shifter and a vampire overcome years of distrust for each other’s species? Will the discovery of his true identity ensnare them in a battle that endangers their lives, in an effort to save mankind from Demon rule?

I really enjoyed this romance about Tawny Howls, a werewolf and her unexpected love, David, a vampire. I liked how differences were overcome easily between species and the instant connection between Tawny and David was sweet. The love scenes were well written with just enough details to make it hot, but leaving out enough to leave the imagination room to takeover!! Very nice!

At the beginning we read how Tawny finds David unconscious. When he does wake he has no memory of being a vampire and the two have to find out who he is. The story takes off when Tawny and David have to join with their friends to battle evil demons who want to take over the world and rule. The author introduces a lot characters in the first chapter and for me it was a bit confusing just trying to sort out who was who and finally who the main characters were going to be. Once I could see where each person fit in, I couldn't put it down. I loved how the writer made David a good guy, literally, and it was nice to see how the author kept the story flowing all the way to the end. I did feel like I was missing something during certain chapters though. For example, while I was reading a scene at the beginning about Bobby, one of the werewolves, and a witch, I didn't understand where the characters fit in until a couple of pages later when the back story was told. The story just seemed to jump from one major couple to a completely new couple in the span of a page. I really thought for a minute that Bobby and David were going to be the couple and Tawny was going to be a third wheel.

Overall, a good short story to read, just remember that you will meet a lot of people quickly and the first people you read about are not major players in the reading. I would still recommend this one for a quick read when you've got time between books!

Everyone please welcome author Stacy Kennedy

Hi Everyone!

Big thanks to Bitten by Paranormal Romance for letting me stop by and share my new release with you all. My novels are light-hearted fantasy with heart squeezing, thigh-clenching romance, and even give a good chuckle every now and again.

My journey as a writer began as a way to keep my brain alive since being a stay at home mom can be a little let’s say numbing. It was an escape from screaming kids, dirty diapers and plain old mom duty.

It started as a hobby, but as the stories progressed it became a passion. Now, I indulge at nap time, especially the juicy bits! Every mom needs a good thrill!

Excerpt:

CHAPTER ONE
Nothing could have prepared me for what faced me now–nothing at all.
Magnus, my destined mate, was dead, by my own hand. Since Magnus and I had completed the bonding ceremony, the role of Ruler over the Underworld had now landed in my lap.
Oh yes, it’s unbelievable. I’m now the Lady of the Underworld. Coming to terms with such insanity, my body reciprocated with full out laughter.
No one said a word. The demons, witches, and warlocks that filled the room all studied me. Some of them laughed a couple times. Others just looked royally pissed.
“Ahh…” I finally managed after my laughter ceased and my breath returned. “Wow, that’s funny.”
Kyden brushed the hair back from my face, his touch gentle and loving. I glanced up and saw my hunky Guardian–his typically strong features soft with relief and dazzling green eyes more than amused by my fit. As his gaze held strong with mine, the memory of all that had taken place hit quickly. For the first time since this whole bizarre situation started, all the emotions I should have felt slammed into me, and my breath caught in my throat.
You see, while Magnus was here and our bond held strong, all I could feel was anger, and my love for Kyden had vanished. Now that Magnus’ hold was gone, it took all of a second before those tears of laughter became ones of sadness.
I let out a scream that echoed the pain in my heart and did nothing to hold back the tears that began to fall.
Misa rushed forward, grasped my arm tight. “My Lady, are you all right?” Her all-American girl look was troubled indeed, but don’t be fooled–she’s a demon.
Kyden gathered me up into his arms as I sobbed heavier than I had in my entire life. Sobbed that I almost lost him and everything that mattered, but mainly because I’d betrayed him. Not only had I slept with Magnus in the dreaming, but Kyden had seen me want him. Had seen me kiss him and witnessed my undying love for Magnus.
I couldn’t even look him in the eye.
Zia, Master of Witches and one of the four master supernaturals who governed the Otherworld, knelt down beside me. Her long strawberry blond locks brushed against my arm. “You have nothing to be shameful of, Nexi. A soul bond is not one by choice.” She gave a firm look that I’d expect to see from someone who was as close to me as a mother. “Do I need to slap you to make you see reason?” She made it a habit to smack some sense into me if I couldn’t see it–regularly.
I glanced up at her, momentarily eased by the distraction of receiving a blow from her. “No, that won’t be necessary.”
Kyden let out a long deep breath, which I only heard, since I refused to look at him. How could I? After all that happened, how could he still love me? He stood with me in his arms, said nothing to the others and quickly left the auditorium.
When he reached a large Maple tree, he sat beneath it, cradled me in his arms, and took my chin in his hand to force my gaze to his. “We’re going to sort this out now. I won’t have you feeling shame or guilt. So, tell me, Álainn, what troubles you?”
Álainn, Gaelic for beautiful–normally hearing him use the pet name he gave to me sent waves of love straight to my soul, but now all I felt was empty. “I slept with him. We were bonded. Oh my God, Kyden, I’ve betrayed you.”
His grip on my chin tightened, his eyes bore into mine with such intensity it captured my already shallow breath. “You think I give a fuck about Magnus and his attempt to lure you?”
“How can you not?” My voice squeaked, tears streamed down my cheeks. “How can you forgive me?”
He brushed his fingers along my cheek to wipe away the tears. “There’s nothing to forgive you for.” His voice gentle and so unlike Kyden. “I don’t doubt for a moment where your heart lies. Besides, he took you in the dreaming–it wasn’t flesh on flesh. And what happened in there,” he nodded back to the auditorium, “is to be expected. His bond had taken you. The fact that you had the ability to deny it and destroy Magnus in life itself is enough. But I know you. The real you–the Nexi Jones that stole my heart would never have considered another.”
“But…I…”
He put his finger on my lips to quiet my words. “No. I told you, there’s nothing that needs to be forgiven.” He sighed again, even deeper. “All that matters is that I still have you.”
Tears still streamed down my face as I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him as tight as I could. “I love you, Kyden.”
“As I do you,” he whispered against my ear.
We stayed that way for a while, just holding onto each other. Sure, my heart still felt heavy, but something else filled my thoughts. I backed away to meet his gaze. “You almost died.” I could barely even say the words, unable to think of what could have been.
“But I didn’t.” His gaze was unwavering. “This is the last conversation you and I will have on this subject. We have been granted the right to be together again and we won’t waste it. We won’t worry about what has happened or took place, only focus on each other and our future. Am I understood?”
I nodded, understood his words perfectly and sank against his chest as he wrapped me in his strong protective hold. This was the last time we would ever talk of Magnus, and what took place, because he didn’t matter–what happened didn’t matter. All that mattered was us, our love and life–no matter how strange it was about to become.
We stayed like that for a while, hugging each other, never letting go. Never again would we be apart and I relished in the love I felt in his embrace.
After my tears finished, Kyden leaned back and smiled down at me. “We need to get back. You have a world to rule.”
His gaze was amused. It was a great restraint on his part that he wasn’t doing a serious belly laugh. I gave his arm a good smack. “It’s not funny. This is insane. What are they thinking? I can’t rule them.”
He stood with me still in his arms, then placed me on my feet, took my hand and squeezed it tight. “It’s a peculiar situation for sure, but one you can’t deny. So, best we just go face this and see what they want from you.”
“Just when I think I can’t take anymore, life only seems to get harder. You know, I’m thinking your whole idea about leaving the Otherworld doesn’t sound all that bad right now.”
He cupped my cheek, ran his thumb over my bottom lip. “I’m afraid, Álainn, that isn’t a choice anymore. Don’t worry, I’ll be with you. We’ll get through this together.”
I leaned into his hand and smiled. At least, I had that. He would be beside me through anything. With him, I had everything.
Hand in hand, he led me back toward the auditorium. When I entered, everyone stood and bowed. I snorted, thoroughly annoyed. “Oh, please.”
Kyden chuckled.
“Are you okay?” Zia inquired.
I loved the telepathic communication we shared as Spirit Witches, especially in times like these, when others didn’t need to hear.
“Better. But what the hell, is this for real? Do they really think I’m going to lead them?”
Her smile was more than amused, it bordered on hilarity. “I’m not sure what they expect of you, but it seems as though Azar and Misa must have a plan since they assisted you against Magnus. Be kind to them, Nexi. They gave you a great gift by helping you.”
“I know you’re right, but Zia, I can’t do this. I. Don’t. Want. To. Do. This.”
“There are steps for you to appoint a new leader, but right now, we need to learn more of this world. You cannot appoint someone who you know nothing about. Think of the consequences. Let’s just take this one step at a time, all right?”
Just then, Misa approached me and bowed. “My Lady…”
“Nexi,” I interjected before she continued. “My name is Nexi.”
“Okay then.” She smiled. “Lady Nexi.”
“No, drop the Lady, just plain old Nexi.”
Misa looked around completely confused. “You’re asking me to call you only Nexi?”
“That’s right.” I glanced around the room to all the Underworld creatures. “All of you. My name is Nexi. That’s it! Got it?” Everyone in the room exchanged a confused glance. The sight of it made me laugh. “And none of this bowing stuff. It’s quite ridiculous.” Their befuddled expressions shifted to complete bewilderment. I had the real feeling that I was asking for the impossible.
To hell with it, I had other matters to attend to. My gaze fell upon Azar. A warlock who looked just as one would expect–scruffy with long white hair and dark eyes that exuded power.
I released Kyden’s hand and stepped toward him. As I reached him, he bowed. I touched his arm, drawing his gaze back to mine. “Why did you help me?” He’d withdrawn the hold Magnus had on me. Without his help, it wouldn’t have turned out this way. I would have been lost to the darkness forever.
He held his hand out, an offering for me to read his thoughts. Just a neat trick the Spirit Element gives to me. I took his hand without hesitation and opened myself up to him so that I could get a grasp on what this was all about.
In an instant, visions flashed through my mind and I recognized the first one immediately. I’d seen this memory in Misa’s mind at the beginning of this mess. At the time, though, she’d pulled away so I couldn’t see more. Now, it became clear.
Azar and Misa wanted to change the path of their world, protect and make it different–better. But Magnus was set in his ways. Yes, they could have defeated him, but then Pye would have taken his place. This would have been worse. So, that’s where I came in.
Misa planted the idea into Magnus’ head to have Pye destroyed. Then, with him out of the way, they put the plan into motion to destroy Magnus. They believed I had all the qualities of a supreme leader and no longer wanted to live in the realm of evil. They would have stopped Magnus’ hold over me earlier if they hadn’t needed me to bond to him first. It guaranteed that I was next in line to rule.
The visions stopped and I released Azar’s hand. Stunned, shocked–I was speechless.
Kyden stroked my arm in a soft touch. “All right?”
I glanced at him. Still unable to speak. This was all very serious, but to be truthful, I had no idea what to say. Off all the things that I thought this might be about, this had never once crossed my mind.
They chose me to lead. Me.
“Nexi, you have to say something.” Zia’s voice filled my mind.
I glanced at her. She gave me a nod of encouragement, to say whatever needed to be said, but still I couldn’t. I seriously drew a blank. I’d never been without words before or so completely dumbfounded.
Misa cleared her throat, broke the silence. “Um…Lady…I mean to say, Nexi, needs some time to process. Let’s give it to her.”
Just like that, every warlock, demon, and witch stood in unison and left the auditorium. All that remained were Misa, Azar, Zia, Talon, and Kyden.
When the final Supe left the room and the door closed, Zia ran to me, hugged me with every ounce of her strength. “I didn’t think it was going to turn out this way.” Her voice hitched. “I love you, Sweetie.”
Still, I stood speechless.
Zia leaned back, then glanced worriedly at Talon. The Master of Guardians, and Kyden’s father, had just released his son from a tight embrace. He looked a lot like him–had the whole ‘slay my dragon’ thing going on. “I think she’s in shock,” she said.
“Help her.”
Zia glanced back to me, kept her hold tight on my arms, and released her magic. A rush of ease filled me.
I exhaled deeply, then gave my head a shake. It relaxed me enough to ground myself again, but I was still unbelievably shocked. Clearly, Zia didn’t want to take away the sense of what was going on here, knew I needed it to make good decisions, but took the edge off.
“So…” I hesitated. Everyone looked at me, waited for me to continue. “You do know that I’m a White Witch?”
Misa nodded, a sweet smile spread across her face. “Yes, we know.”
“And you do know I won’t accept Black Magic, right?”
“Why do you think I didn’t allow you to accept it after the bonding ceremony? We don’t want you to change.” Azar smiled.
Now it made sense. At the time, he suggested that Magnus and I wait until we were alone for me to accept Black Magic. With all types of sultry promise, Magnus had agreed. A deep shudder erupted within me as I remembered the way he looked at me then, the way I felt and wanted him. Just yuck!
I shifted my focus away from thoughts along that line and got back to business. “Why?”
“We like how you are,” Misa responded.
I gave my head a shake, tried to understand all this, but nothing seemed to make sense. “I’m so confused.” I gave my temples a good, hard rub.
Misa laughed. “What’s there to understand? I told you repeatedly that we’re not what you think we are. Yes, we’re demons and must siphon souls to feed our world and our magic, but we disagree with our past leaders. We don’t want innocent souls taken.”
I had to laugh at the idea of such insanity. “You’re good evil guys?”
“Makes you like us, right?”
I did remember when she’d told me this awhile back but I thought she was totally nuts. The truth was, now, I did like her. Demons are the pure essence of evil and she denied her very own soul to live in kindness. That definitely put her on the side of the good guys. Still, none of this made any sense.
“Honestly, why have you chosen me? There were lots of powerful witches and warlocks here tonight. You could have picked any of them.”
Misa’s smile was shrewd. “Not as powerful as you. With you leading, it puts us in a position of great safety. No one can go up against you, which will keep our world and our wants, protected.”
Before I could process that, Zia said, “She’s right, Nexi. You’ve grown undeniably strong. You shielded Kyden against Magic–used your shield on another. I still don’t believe it.”
My magic always did seem to be stronger with emotional motivation behind it so it really didn’t surprised me anymore that my powers exploded when I needed them most. Besides, my mind just couldn’t break away from how insane this all was. “But I have no experience with leading anything. I’m only twenty-four years old for gosh sakes. I can’t do this.”
Azar placed a hand on my shoulder, his smile kind. “You were born to do this and we’ll be here to guide you.”
I waited a good ten breaths as I let my mind process the situation. It wasn’t going to go away and would happen whether I liked it or not. So, as they say, better face the music and find out exactly what they wanted from me. “Lay it on me then, what do I have to do?”
“First, we need to establish rules that your minions must adhere to.” Misa informed.
Suddenly, a horrific thought came to mind. “I don’t have to live here, do I?”
“You are the Ruler of the Underworld. You can do whatever you like–the rules are yours to make.”
My gaze met Kyden’s, relief palpable in my tone. “Well, that’s a bit of good news.”
“Indeed.”
“You can assign yourself minions to handle your daily duties, and to look after the world for you, if you don’t wish to live among us.” Misa continued.
Okay, easy decision. “I appoint you.”
“Me?” Misa gasped.
“Well yeah, you seem to know lots. You’ll do fine.” Better than I could do, and oddly, I trusted her. Yeah, I trusted a demon, never thought I’d see the day.
She started to bow, but I grabbed her arm quickly. “Please don’t. That’s just too weird.”
“As you wish, my…” she stopped herself and smiled. “Nexi.”
I smiled in return. Whoever guessed that I’d find a friend in Misa? I would never have thought it possible. Friends come from unusual places, and I couldn’t deny that when I looked at Misa, all I saw was a friend.
“We’ll be in nightly contact with you about situations that arise and matters you must deal with. It’d be my pleasure to act as your Siren to assist you and deal with most of the trouble without you. The role is normally given to a witch, but times have changed now, haven’t they?” Azar cut in.
“Great.” Maybe my involvement wouldn’t be as much as I thought. These two seemed to know what the hell they were doing. “So, you’ll only come to me if something really serious comes up?”
“As Siren, I’ll deal with anyone who goes against the laws you put forth. We’ll detain them here. Then, weekly you’ll need to come so they can stand before you.”
I sighed loud and proud. There went my whole plan to let everyone else handle it thing for me. “All right, got all that, so what do we do now?”
“We need to bring everyone back in so you can set in place the new rules.” Misa stated.
My gaze hit on every face here. “Er…I hope you are all going to help me with this?” I was glad to get a nod from each of them in return.
Half an hour later, we had rules to set the Underworld to rights. The crowd piled back into the auditorium and took their seats. Misa gave me a quick nod to begin.
“Here goes.” I said to Kyden, who gave my hand a squeeze before letting go. Nerves rattled me. Public speaking was never my strong suit. So, I made it quick.
“Rule one: No more taking innocent souls. Anyone who does will face destruction. Understood?” Every head nodded so I continued. “Only humans who have done something wrong, murder, rape, you know that kind of stuff. Those souls you can drain, and do whatever you want with, but that’s it.”
When a Demon drained a soul, it didn’t actually kill them, just weakened their life force–took a few years off. If they ruined lives, who cared that they’d die a little early. I sure didn’t.
“Rule two: If a human asks for something in return for giving his soul,” Which was how the majority of the souls were taken–given freely in exchange for something. “You cannot do anything evil. Got it? No hurting others, stealing, murder, anything that falls into those categories.”
I continued for what seemed like hours, until my mouth ran dry from talking. The rules were simple ones, we weren’t able to change the way of the Underworld, but we could run it along the same lines of the Otherworld. With the only difference being, I was the Council. What a big joke, right?
“I have put Misa in charge. So, anything needs to go through her.” Everyone nodded again. “Azar will now be my Siren. If there is trouble, go to him, and he’ll sort it out.” With that all said and done, I looked toward Azar. “You need to choose your…” I hesitated, searched for the right word, “…guard.”
Azar leaned in, his voice low. “Sorry, that’s your job. We’ll arrange for a challenge for you to choose who defends you.”
“Oh. Well, okay. We can do that.” I had no idea what I was doing and really hoped I didn’t look as ridiculous as I felt.
“Is that all then, Lady…I mean to say, Nexi?” Misa asked.
“Yes, that’ll do.” I glanced around the room and looked upon a few faces before me. “I guess I should probably thank you all. If it wasn’t for your support, things would’ve turned out very different.”
When Magnus called out for help, no one had given him aid. A couple of firm nods acknowledged me, but that was about it. I glanced back at Misa who smiled at me. “I guess that’s it, so can I go now?”
“You do not need to ask my permission,” she replied softly.
“Okay.” I walked back to Kyden and grabbed his hand. “Let’s go then.”
Everyone in the auditorium stood and bowed as Kyden and I walked, Zia and Talon followed. “Stop doing that.”
No one listened.

Review Blood Moons by Alianne Donnelly

Title:Blood Moons

Format: eBook

They say no good deed ever goes unpunished, a sentiment Dara understands fully now that she is paying for a crime she didn't commit. It was stupid to call in a murder she didn't really see. But how could Dara have kept silent? Now a stunning -- scratch that, a dangerous -- man with a frightening secret of his own is telling her he can help. Yeah, right. A telepath knows better than to trust mere words.

The last decade of Tristan's life has been penance. All that time spent among the worst dregs of society might have made him begin to question his humanity, but he’s never felt so much like an animal as he does around this timid, delicate female. Her very presence stirs the beast within him; Tristan can feel it growing stronger every day. Any more time with Dara, and it might overpower him completely. But without her, he stands no chance at all...

I found Blood Moons refreshing and exciting to read, to tell you the truth I was very impressed with the story and had a hard time putting it down. The author does an amazing job in the world building and she explains everything very well. I will say this is not for the faint of heart, this book carries all the emotions along with a very evil villain and of course, with these two locked up in prison you don’t meet nice guys there. So, be prepared for one intense book with a surprising hot romance.

I really liked all the characters the storyline and the tension between the Tristan and Dara. It’s not every day you read a book where a woman is put in prison and placed in a cell with a man, a big hunk I might add. Well, you can guess where this is going. I loved how they communicated telepathically and how their relationship exploded as the days in prison went by. It’s always nice to find an unlikely hero in the wrong place.

If you enjoy reading telepathic abilities and shape-shifters stories, you have to try this one. I recommend it to any paranormal and/or futuristic romance reader.

New blood book blogger on the block interview

Please welcome Crystal from Paranormal Romance Addict .

Laurie-Hello Crystal, thanks so much for being here and being the New blood book blogger for this month. Would you please tell us a little about yourself?
Crystal-Thanks for having me Laurie this is so exciting!
Hi! *vampire kiss-kiss*, my name is Crystal and I’m a 28 year old Florida girl. I’m married and a stay at home momma to a five-year-old daughter and three-year-old son. And of course, I’m a total bookworm!

Laurie-How long have you been reading? What’s your favorite genre?
Crystal-I've been reading since I was about seven, my mom says that I’ve always had my nose stuck in a book. My favorite genre is paranormal romance of course!

Laurie-When and why did you start doing book reviews?
Crystal-I started doing reviews on my other blog, Reading Between the Wines Book Club, towards the end of last year. But since paranormal romance is what I mainly read and my all time reading love I decided to create a blog solely dedicated to that and here we are.
I started reviewing books because I’m constantly reading and I love gushing about great books that I find and recommending them to others. And the hubs starts tuning me out after a while when I subject him to this. hehe

Laurie-How long have you been reviewing books?
Crystal-About five months.

Laurie-Do you take notes for your reviews while you read?
Crystal-Sometimes I do, on ARC’s and requests mostly.

Laurie-Why did you start a book blog?
Crystal-Because I really am addicted to paranormal romance, just ask the hubs!
I wanted a place that I could discuss that and nothing else with others who share my love. I’ve also found that it’s a great way to find new authors and keep up-to-date on news and releases.

Laurie-How long does it usually take you to read and write a review for your blog?
Crystal-Read: 1-2 days
Write Review: An hour or two, unless I’m having a hard time putting it together, then I might come back and try again later or the next day. I’m a better reader then I am a writer. =)

Laurie-What’s the hardest thing you had to do in setting up your blog?
Crystal-Trying to come up with something unique with the layout and banner/buttons. There are just so many of us book bloggers out there using the same resources it was a bit difficult and I hope I accomplished my goal. *fingers crossed*

Laurie-What’s the most exciting thing that has happened to you since you started your blog?
Crystal-Conversing with new author Dianne Duvall via email and getting to read an arc of her upcoming release Darkness Dawns. She’s such a sweetie and a fabulous writer.

That is a huge joy of book blogging for me, getting to meet new authors and find even more great books to read!

Laurie-What’s your favorite thing to do on your blog?
Crystal-Posting author and book news; I get so excited when I learn something new about a favorite author or series, I love sharing it with others.

Laurie-Any tips that you have for a new upcoming book blogger?
Crystal-If you build it they will come…LoL
Don’t worry about your follower count; followers will come with time. Just enjoy what you do and have fun. And don’t be afraid to ask for help from your fellow bloggers if you need it, most of us are nice and willing to lend a hand. =)

Laurie-What are the most books you read in a week?
Crystal-Probably about ten. I read Christine Feehans Dark Carparthian series in about 2 weeks, which were 20 books at the time.

Quick questions:
Spoilers or no spoilers? No major spoilers
Author interviews or guest post? Guest Posts
Long reviews or short reviews? Short on PRA ;)

Authors Website

Entomologist and adjunct professor Melina Parker has always excelled in two things: research followed by hands-on application. She prides herself on being a lady in public, but after she’s dumped yet again for being a lady in the bedroom, she’s ready to go back to school.

Determined to find her inner sex diva, she enlists her childhood friend, Max Dalton, to tutor her after hours. Instead, she ends up in the wrong bed and gets a lesson in passion from Max’s twin brother, Rhys Dalton, a man Melina’s always secretly wanted but never thought she could have.

Despite craving the occasional adventure, Melina’s a small-town girl who wants roots and a family. Rhys and Max, on the other hand, are world-famous magicians who travel from one city to another, changing bed partners as easily as plane flights. While Rhys is outwardly the more reserved of the two, he has no shortage of tricks up his sleeve. Unable to believe his good luck, he gives Melina her first taste of multiples right out the gate. Come morning, she’s so mortified that she threw herself at Rhys that she blurts out the truth about her tutoring experiment. This Magic Moment is realistic, steamy and passionate story, one that I really enjoyed. I was very impressed with the passion Virna DePaul adds in her book. I really liked the realistic feel the author adds between these two, they start out as teens and in one moment things change, only to get another chance later in life. But when Rays and Melina finally gets that chance they have to learn to stay together. Just because these two finally gets hot in between the sheet one night, that doesn’t mean things are hooky dory, oh no that is far from the truth, you’ll have to read to find out why. Oh yea, I need to mention there’s some hot bondage in here, but there is a twist, Rays is the one bandaged *wicked grin*

I recommend this to any erotic romance reader, which likes a steamy romance. I hope the other brother Max will have a story for me to read.

A Vampire's Salvation is short, sweet and very hot. This novella has danger, a hot alpha vampire and some hot sex. You get some bondage and mention of anal. One thing I loved there's mention of Cruelty free products; I am a freak about this, so it thrilled me to read it.

Frankie is one tuff sharp dressing lady. She had a bad experience with her first relationship and the scar on her face to prove it. There is a hunk she works with named Jake that has caught her eye. With her fantasy running wild about Jake the last six months, what will she say when he finally tells her he wants her? You’ll have to read and find out. I enjoyed reading both characters.

I recommend this to erotic paranormal romance readers.

Jacob La Costa Rios watched color stain Francesca’s cheeks and felt a deep sense of satisfaction. Not because he’d flustered her, although he had to admit that was a charming sight, but because he was tired of waiting. He wasn’t a man normally prone to patience. Not when it came to getting what he wanted, and he most definitely wanted her.

How bad could it be, Nicole Martin asked herself when she discovered her options were to take the role or face criminal charges with her ‘big’ sister, Brandy? Actually, it didn’t sound nearly as bad as she’d expected once the producer/blackmailer explained. The filming would be done in low light situations. No one would ever get a really good look at her face. And it was just acting anyway, right? They weren’t actually going to do all those things ….

WARNING: Carnal/erotica-adult situations and language, mild/moderate bdsm, multiple sexual partners, multiple heroes, voyeurism, male and female sibling voyeurism, blindfolded sex, countless ménages through oilrigs and sandwiches, BDSM rack sexual device, spanking, cum shots everywhere, group sex, dick jacking, dick piercing/metal galore, sexual domination, forced seduction, training of a submissive, constant fondling, constant head, constant sex on camera, violence through fights from Doms and Doms in training, and lots of male possessiveness. After I read this I just had to try this book! Well, I should have known to have left it alone! The reason for the two stars is there was a romance here in spite of the situation going on in the house and the end had a happy ever after.

Nicole’s luck ran out again. This time she ends up in a huge mess with her sister, black mailed into a porn movie. Yep, she gets a part on a live set of a reality porn TV show. The set includes 7 men, so hint the Snow White and the seven hunks, but they change the name up a bit because of the added person Nicole. Brandy gets the part of Snow White while Nicole gets to play the submissive Red Rose. A few of these men gets very possessive with Nicole, especially Gabe.

Spoilers below!

Things I didn’t like.
The storyline was just plain stupid and I found myself questoning quite a few parts. I love reading books with multiple partners, but this one just felt like a bad pron movie.

Nicole plays the submissive and has to go days without orgasms, so while her sister Brandy gets to have all the sex and orgasms she wants. Nicole has to hold her orgasms or she of course gets punished and you know she ends up getting punished. I felt sorry for Nicole she is stuck in this contract and now she has a bipolar sister ready to go off on her if she gets any sex….

When Nicole finally gets sex, Needless to say it was a mess, the men didn’t spend much time with her like they did with her sister Brandy. Brandy got hours of sex just with one man, but when they got to Nicole she just got a few minutes and then they tore her, yep, I said that right these men are porn stars so they are very well endowed and Nicole is small even in that area, so when they had sex with her she ended up with a few tears, so no more sex for Nicole for a while again ugh.. So this got me thinking if she can’t take one of these men how in the world would she be able to have a baby?? LOL
For some reason I got it in my head that Nicole would have been the one having all the fun, not her sister getting the biggest part of the fun.

I guess if your just in a mood for some porn without much romance this would be for you. Other than that, please check out quite a few reviews before buying this one.

Cover- Very nice

S.K. Yule brings you a hot romance along with an intense adventure in Lycan It. I felt the author done a good job bringing Raze and Janine together quick and the way they accepted each other. Janine is on the heavier side, so expect a few lines where she questions Raze being with her. I enjoyed the plot it was different. This novella is a little more violent than the others I have read by this author, so I want to mention here, you’ll find the mention of rape in the first of the book. I think the author does an excellent job in writing this story.

The rogue Lycans are at it again, they are still raping and killing the woman that they should be kept safe until their mates are found. Raze has had enough and is tested two ways, one in his loyalty to a leader he no longer wants leading him. The second is he has to get his mate to trust him while they are both in dire straits.

Janine is a cupcake baker. She takes a two week vacation and goes on a trip, little knowing what will happen to her in the coming weeks. When she is kidnapped she finds she has to put her trust in a man that she has never met. She also finds that things start simmering between her and that man. Oh my, you never know what can happen when two people at thrush together in an intense situation.

I recommend this to paranormal erotic readers that like an intense novella.

Interview with Author Dawné Dominique

An interview with the very talented artist and author Dawné Dominique about her series, The First, a world where biblical facts crash headlong into fiction.

Cynthia - Dawné, thank you for being here with us today. I must say that I admire you for not only being an author but a very accomplished artist as well. With that being said, let's get down to business, shall we. Knowing that you are a very talented artist and author: If you had to choose only one career path, which would it be -- Artist or author and why?

Dawné - Oh, dear. This is like asking which of my children to give up. Both these careers go hand-in-hand for me, but if I had to make a life or death choice, I would have to say being an author. Creating cover art is one of the most fulfilling occupations I’ve undertaken, but my need to write, to allow my muses to run free, is what keeps me sane. If I didn’t, those voices inside my head would probably land me in a round room with padded walls. *smiles*

Cynthia - Well, yes, putting it that way I can understand. I wouldn't want to have to make the choice between children. On to this brilliant series The First. How nervous were you stepping away from the “norm” of today’s mass market Vampire and visiting the darker, grittier Vampire? Satrina’s wickedness rocked in Eden's Hell, I: The First.

My review of EDEN'S HELL, I: THE FIRST

Dawné - I’m not a person who conforms to the norm of anything. I write what’s in my soul. It was an unfortunate set of circumstances that The First series wasn’t released four years ago, before the mass vampire craze hit. Without saying negative things about a particular publisher, suffice it to say that one novel in this series was held hostage for three years, which made me shelve the entire project because it hurt too much to even look at it, let alone continue to write the story.

When I began Eden’s Hell, it was originally created to be a stand-alone novel. About halfway through the writing, I was struck with an epiphany…I realized that it had to begin this unique series.

Vampires who kill are not the norm in today’s paranormal fictional standards, especially with the influx of movies and books like Twilight, but the origin of their species, the Bram Stoker’s Nosferatu version, I tried to keep as close as possible in Eden’s Hell albeit with a twist, while still installing the “tortured souls” personification that Anne Rice had epitomized. What could be more perfect than biblical facts crashing headlong into fiction?

Cynthia - Yep, I knew there was another reason I liked your writing. Well, make that two reasons: Bram Stoker and Anne Rice. And Ms. Rice did weave her tales with religious undertones. So then, what is the significance of the bird/raven on your book covers and did you design the covers?

Dawné - I must give thanks to Edgar Allan Poe for giving me the inspiration. And yes, I designed the symbol, as well as all the book covers in this series. Thanks also goes to my amazing publisher, Purple Sword Publications and Traci Markou. They allow me the creative freedom to do so.

The raven encompasses unknown darkness and evil, “quoth the raven”. *smiles* The Roman numeral behind it represents The First. I had worked on an icon for several years, trying to create something that would properly signify the series. The raven also holds some importance in book II, Dark Diary, wherein a deranged serial killer uses a weapon shaped like a raven.

Cynthia - *aha moment* Now, I have to go back and read Dark Diary. I'm curious about Adam and Lillith and Eve; a very original beginning concept to me. How did they originate?

Dawné - Well, I wanted to create a completely different vampire tale. I was raised in a religion that didn’t recognize Lillith as being Adam’s first wife. When I was researching “evil” entities, I came across a website that described an array of folklore demons. This one particular female demon would hunt children in the dead of night and drain them of their blood and souls. The idea of Lillith being this kind of entity was born. The more research I did, the bigger the idea blossomed.

Cynthia - What gave you the idea to have Daniella, in Dark Diary, II: The First, to feed every 30 days? BTW -- Love this cover....

My review of DARK DIARY, II: THE FIRST

Dawné - Again, I was thinking outside the box. I’ve often wondered why female vampires couldn’t bear children. With the creation of Lillith’s character, I explain the how and why in Eden's Hell. I don’t want to give away any spoilers here, but there is a very logical reason as to why female vamps are barren.

Daniella Rolfe is a completely different vampire, as she was born a blood drinker and not created by the interlacing of vampiric blood. So, in order to make her more real to my readers, I reversed the menstrual cycle—instead of bleeding once a month, she must consume.

Daniella was originally created through a short story vampire contest in my writing forum. It was chapter length wherein I detailed a diary entry from her point of view. I won the contest, but the reviews I received back held one huge critique. It was too short—people wanted more. Thus, Daniella Rolfe was born, in more ways than one. And let me tell you, she has been the most demanding muse I’ve ever encountered. She needed to have her story told, and it’s quite a tale, indeed.

Cynthia - I have enjoyed the first two books of The First series immensely. Please tell me that more are on the way; as I want more of these deliciously erotic and evil vamps. How many more of The First series can we expect to see? Or will you be surprising us with something entirely new?

Dawné - There are five books to this series: Eden’s Hell, Dark Diary, Kindred Blood, Crimson Cries and the final, which is halfway written. It was originally going to be titled Nightstalker, but as I continued writing the final novel, I realized that the title just doesn’t do it justice, especially with it being the end of the series, so for now, it’s currently untitled.

My next project may be a murder, horror novel, with some paranormal twists. I had started a novel in this vein about three years ago, and haven’t had a chance to get back to it, as I wanted to finish this series. Right now, the market is swamped with enough vampire tales, so I’d like the hype to die down first before I begin another vampire series, and I promise you, I will. I always have something brewing inside my head, which is a dangerous place to be, let me tell you. *grins*

The First twists biblical facts of several religions into believable fiction, creating what I hope is a series that is plausible and spellbinding. We have to remember that bibles are merely books written and rewritten many times by an array of authors detailing events that “supposedly” happened long ago. It is a person’s “faith” that makes them believe, or not. This is the premise I wanted to create for The First series.

Laurie and Cynthia, thank you so much for having me here today. It is an absolute pleasure to be interviewed by Bitten by Paranormal Romance.
