Excellent! Fantastic Hot Read!

I totally loved this read, this wasn't your ordinary paranormal read. Natalie, recovering from an abusive marriage and starting a new life moves to a small town and buys a run down fixer upper. She soon learns from the Native Americans in town that her house is built on sacred ground where the spirits lurk and to her surprise she soon encounters a few ghost living in her house.

Dustin (ghost/were-wolf) shows up in solid form but disapears in front of Natalie as he trys to explain who the small girl ghost is and why she is left in the house. Natalie finds herself drawn to him sexually even though she has sworn off men for a while especially after going through an almost dieing experience from her ex-husband.

Scott (human/were-wolf/Native American Shaman) is hired to do work around Natalie's houses and when they finally meet in person Natalie finds herself sexually attractive to Scott as well and trys to figure out why she is attractive to two men at once.

Natalie starts having these dreams of herself running along side with two wolves and when she awakes she finally realizes who these two wolves are and the story takes off as she realizes she has a destiny to fullfill in the spiritual realm and the erotic scene (m/f/m) is HOT!

The action in the end is perfect and the HEA is so sweet, I didn't want it to end, I wanted more of the story. There was so much that happened in the book that I didn't mention because I didn't want to give the story away but this a must read. Excellent Read!

Oh yea, now we are talking… Stacey Kennedy shows us how she can rock the erotic reading world with her hot Blessed Beauty. The Explicit sex and the ménage à trios’ made for a sizzling hot romance between two vampires and one human. You won’t find any anal whatsoever in this book. I enjoyed the storyline and the troubled villain.

Hadley has been taking some down time from her husband and living on her own life for a while, but she knows her time is coming up short; it’s about time for her husband to come and take her back. The thing is she is now in love with her new lover and she has no clue what to do. You have to read to see how Hadley juggles one man, one vampire and a murder case that is now adding up in body count. This is a short novella so the relationship comes together very quick and very little fuss. I recommend this to any paranormal reader that likes it all about the woman getting her pleasure.

The second installment of Deeply, Desperately is just as enjoyable as the first, then again I am a sucker for a fun and romantic stories.  This time around Lucy is up to her eye balls again, in cases, keeping her love life going, helping friends, then to top it off  a surprise is added to the Valentine family. There is no way I could pull of what Lucy does in a few weeks LOL. You get a little more romance between Lucy and Sean in this installment. I found this a brilliant story and fun to read.

I recommend this series to any mystery, paranormal romance lover. The reason for recommend this to a paranormal romance reader is Lucy and her family can read peoples auras and Lucy is physic. You wont find this series on the hot and steamy side like paranormal romance books, but if you’re like me and like a fun mystery romance, you have to give Miss Valentine’s series a try.

Guest author Marie Treanor

Please welcome Marie Treanor

Awakened by Blood… by Marie Treanor

Long before Bram Stoker, there were vampire legends of one kind or another all over the world.
Imagine you had a mission to explain this in sensible, non-supernatural terms. You have a theory, a good theory, that fits in eastern Europe at least, and you’re building quite an academic reputation proving it for your PhD. Obviously you’re a bright and talented person, highly intelligent, so it never enters your head that any of the vampire legends could possibly have their basis in fact. That would be preposterous, wouldn’t it?
When Elizabeth Silk, my heroine of the Awakened by Blood trilogy, finds the hidden tomb of the legendary vampire Saloman, she’s concerned only with making him fit her theory. It never enters her head that he could be awakened, let alone that she’s been sent to do it. And yet, somehow, it’s done, and Elizabeth is catapulted into a dark and threatening world whose existence she never even suspected. Worse, the dangerous being she’s awakened is determined upon revenge and world domination and is, to top it all, uncannily sexy. Oh yes, and he needs to kill her.
This is the premise of Blood on Silk, and since the sequels Blood Sin and Blood Eternal follow Elizabeth and Saloman’s story, you might guess they don’t succeed in killing each other before the end of the first book! Instead, their conflict has become a duel of wits, sex and even love that neither can leave alone. The question is, could it – indeed, should it? - become something more, or will one of them truly have to die?
Blood on Silk is available now. Here’s the link to Amazon. And here’s an excerpt from Blood Sin, which releases on 5th April, but is available now for pre-order…

Even if you stand in the light, you can dwell in the dark.

Months after her dangerous encounter with vampire overlord Saloman, Scottish academic Elizabeth Silk is still trying to cope with both the demands of her ancestral bloodline—which marks her as a vampire hunter — and the overpowering desire she feels for the immortal she brought back from the grave. But she is not alone in her fascination with Saloman.

When Elizabeth tracks down a distant cousin from America, she learns he possesses an antique sword that has caught the interest of the Grand Master of the American hunters. It is the ancient and mystical sword of Saloman — a treasure of vast occult powers and a prize beyond measure to both vampires and humans. Now the race is on for possession of the sword.

Even as her enemies and allies shift their allegiances and battle for supremacy, Elizabeth must decide which will rule her own perilous fate: unwanted loyalty or unholy love.

***

“Josh! Darling!” interrupted a gushing voice. An instant later, Jerri Cusack embraced Josh, and everyone fell back to give her room. Her movements were all quick and dramatic, and she seemed to have released him almost before she’d grabbed him, reaching behind her in high excitement to exclaim, “I’ve just got to introduce you to Adam Simon!”

The name alone would have made Elizabeth turn in the direction of her grasping hand, but the speed of Josh’s spin to meet the man interested her far more. She stepped aside to get a better view, and almost dropped her glass.

He walked toward her, his black hair flowing loose over his shoulders. Alone of the men present, he wore no dinner jacket, just a black shirt that might have been velvet or crushed silk, with a matching tie that looked more like a cravat. He moved with all the grace and threat of a panther.

All this she absorbed in the first instant before his beauty blinded her, as it had always done. Yet it never even entered her head to doubt her own sanity, or to wonder whether her recognition was faulty. His mask had fallen.

He gazed only at her. She took a step toward him without meaning to, and he smiled, the rare, full smile that haunted her dreams. Shock overwhelmed the emotions struggling for release.

Then joy broke through like a tide, propelling her forward and into his arms, her face already raised for his kiss. Amber flames danced in his black eyes, burning her with the force of his desire. His mouth no longer smiled as it covered hers.

Elizabeth, he said silently. Elizabeth.

Saloman.

It was an instant, a very small instant of bliss. The powerful arms she’d never thought to feel again closed close around her, while his mouth, his incredible, wonderful mouth, moved over hers with tenderness, accepting all her need and all the uncomplicated happiness of her kiss.

But it wasn’t uncomplicated. And they weren’t alone. A fact that Saloman, clearly, had never lost sight of for a moment. Even as she gasped into his mouth, trying to force herself to draw back, to ask questions that had only half formed in her brain, he was already releasing her. Her stunned lips felt cold, her body rebellious as his arms fell away. Although the tips of his fingers trailed over her naked back and lingered, so that she stood in the circle of his arm, being inexorably turned as if to be shown off to friends.

She shivered, desperately reaching for what dignity or even sense she could muster. They were being watched by several people with varying degrees of surprise, interest, and disapproval.

As if from very far away, Josh’s voice said, “I didn’t realize you two were acquainted.”

“Neither did I!” Elizabeth hoped she didn’t sound as hysterical as she felt.

“We met in Eastern Europe,” Saloman said, and God, yes, his voice still sounded the same. A little more modern in its intonation, perhaps, but it still reached right inside her, turning her outside in. “I expect Elizabeth remembers the Hungarian form of my name.”

“Oh, yes,” Elizabeth agreed, fighting the urge to laugh.

“What would that be?” Jerri asked eagerly.

“You couldn’t pronounce it,” Saloman said blandly.

Elizabeth, who, incredibly enough, was still clutching her champagne glass, hoped she’d spilled some of its contents over his mocking, arrogant person. Lifting it to her lips with fingers she prayed didn’t shake too visibly, she took a sizable gulp and tried to think.

What the hell was he doing here? And why was he posing as Adam Simon? Shit, what had he done with the real businessman? Was he after Dante?

No, you blind, blithering fool! He’s after Josh! Josh, whom you came here to protect, remember? To warn him against this very vampire? Well, Silk, now’s your moment!

Review Wicked Intentions by Elizabeth Hoyt

Title: Wicked Intentions

Genre: Historical romance

My review
Rating-

Sexual-

I was very impressed with Wicked Intentions; I greatly enjoined reading this story and the characters. I loved the mystery, adventure, danger, emotions and the hot sex. I’m always a sucker for a book with a hero that is on the darker side and has a tortured soul, but what I liked most was the author didn’t drag anything out between the hero and heroine and she kept them together pretty much thought-out the book.

You’ll find some wicked things in this book. You have a hero Lord Caire that likes his sex on the bondage side. Why you ask? Well you have to read to find out how tortured Lord Caire really is, then again Temperance isn‘t to innocent herself. So expect some mention and use of bondage with blind folds and some wicked sex in a carriage.

I recommend this to any historical reader that likes torched souls, betrayals, emotions and murder. I myself can’t wait to read more books in this series, especially the book with Temperance sister Silence.

My Ratings
Review

Sexual

Dale is your typical male, even if he is a snake shifter demon. He’s possessive, arrogant, jealous, and alpha. He and Val have been arguing, their relationship becoming even more distant. Val truly wants to be Dale’s Mate in every sexual way, but he is afraid she may not survive the transition because she is human. Also in typical male fashion, Dale changes the subject, sort of, by using sex. It’s just not the kind he really wants, nor what Val is begging for. Oh yeah, and that Love’s Bane Potion……

“Right, you didn’t think and now we have your brain-dead demoness groupies out there awaiting breathlessly for your every sordid command.”

The heat really gets intense when Dale’s brother, Spencer, shows up unexpectedly. After a brief interlude, another brother, Zander arrives to let the threesome know that Dale and Val have been summoned. Dale’s parents wish to meet Val.

With CHOCOLATE SNAKE BITE, you’ll encounter a multitude of sexual situations. Something to please everyone: Voyeurism, anal, bondage, multiple partners, clamps, and shape shifting during sex (but that wasn’t explained very well). I may have left something out. Frankly, I thought the storyline was just word play set between the over-extended sex scenes. The scenes felt contrived; especially the very last one. I NEED MORE STORY. On the other hand, if you enjoy a little less conversation, a little more action, this Basilisk is for you!

On another note: Among other things, I’m an avid reader and sometimes half-ass reviewer. I tend to forgive and forget a few errors in a book. Hey, I make mistakes too. I draw the line however, when I encounter too many spelling and grammatical errors in any type of today’s publications. If someone needs help, a vast number of aids are available to use. I should know, as some habits are too hard to break. During my 20+ years as an Administrative Assistant in an ever changing environment, it was my job to make my boss look perfect!

Del Fantasma is an erotica fantasy series by Aspen Mountain Press. Each of the titles is a name of a cocktail. At the end of this book is a recipe for, you guessed it: A Chocolate Snake Bite Cocktail.

Cheers!

Neil MacKenzie's well ordered life turns to chaos when Mora Campbell shows up claiming he's her fiance from 1602 Scotland. Her avowal that she was chased to the future by clan chieftain, Red MacDonald, is utter nonsense, and Neil must convince her that she is just addled from a blow to her head--or so he believes until the MacDonald himself shows up wanting blood.Mora knows the Neil of the future is truly her beloved Niall who disappeared from the past. Although her kinsmen believe he's dead, and she is now destined to marry Niall's brother, she's convinced that if she and Neil return to the past, all will be right. The only problem is how to get back to 1602 before it's too late. The balance of the present and future are in peril if she marries another, and the Neil of the present will cease to exist. An ancient relic and a few good friends in the future help pave the way back to the past, but will Mora and Neil be too late to save a love that began centuries before?

RATING:

SEXUAL:

Dee's Thoughts:

Neil MacKenzie had quite the shock when he returned home. His beloved house keeper and companion Mrs. Dannon had been murdered and an exquisite red haired beauty lay unconscious at the top of his stairs. A beauty who brings a fierce sense of possessiveness, protectiveness and a sense of ownership to Neil.

Mora Campbell could not believe her eyes. When she awoke with a dreadful headache to find her most beloved Niall, who had been presumed dead, standing over her, her heart nearly stopped. Only her Niall looked, spoke, and dressed quite different. Not only that he didn’t seem to know her.

This is a heart warming love story. Where the couple strive to regain a future that had been stolen from them, but only have a short period of time for success. The twist to the story was a surprise and was fun to read. Neil and Mora are joined by some very interesting, and funny characters to help them on their journey. Fergus is Neil’s best friend and quite the scene stealer, in my opinion. Love me some Fergus.

READERS BE AWARE: There is very little sexual content. A sexual act is referred to but is not written/described in detail.

When I first received this book I was very intrigued to read it because I have never come across a novel that has dealt with hybrids before. The whole concept is unique and refreshing to the paranormal romance/erotica genre and I couldn't wait to read it. Suffice to say there were aspects about the plot I really enjoyed. I could see the series continuing on and leading in many different possible directions with the interesting characters and their very unique abilities. However, as I continued to read the novel, I reached a point in the story where I felt the author may have missed the opportunity to delve deeper into the plot and expand on the development of the characters.

The premise of the story surrounds the existence of a secret laboratory that has been around for decades conducting experiments in the creation of hybrid humanoids who have been tortured, killed and revived over and over again to test there physical and mental abilities. Avery is a wolf hybrid who looks completely human except he has fangs, super enhanced sight, smell and hearing and can manifest claws at will. Avery along with six others managed to escape from the laboratory and fend for themselves while constantly on the run from begin caught and sent back to the lab. Each hybrid has their own unique abilities along with the capacity to communicate with each other telepathically. One thing that they discovered before their escape is that the scientists want the hybrids to reproduce however their experiments failed until they realized that each hybrid has a "mate" that they can only reproduce with. Avery is intent on finding his mate who he is somehow connected to both on a physical and psychological level (unfortunately this part is not explained in detail which I wish it had been).

Violet is a lonely novelist who hasn't had much luck with men and seems unsatisfied except for being happy to have the companionship of her dog. This comes to an abrupt end when one night Avery appears by her back door just before the "enemy" attacks her. Avery saves her and during the few days they are together Violet learns about Avery being her mate, him being a hybrid and the laboratory. Up to this point I really enjoyed the plot line and mystery, however it is here that the author missed the mark and started focusing on the sex so much so that the plot got left behind. There was so much potential for the story to completely grab hold of the reader and take them one an amazing journey instead of experiencing page after page of gratuitous and meaningless sex. The characterization of Violet in the second half of the book as a complete nymphomaniac who constantly needs to pinch her breasts which immediately sets her on fire and needs to be quenched with more sex starts to makes her appear one-dimensional. Don't get me wrong I love reading sex scenes and erotica but not to the point that it just becomes a marathon of sex, then they wake up and before eating have another marathon of sex (this did happen in the book).

Perhaps what really bothered me the most was the whole "mate" term got completely lost. Avery is an extremely good-looking wolf hybrid, thus with Violet being his "mate" one would think that a strong, emotional, monogamous relationship develops. Instead we end up seeing Avery sharing his "mate" with one of the other hybrids that he views as a brother. The reason for this is because Violet desires a threesome with his gorgeous "brother" and Avery wants to make her happy. I'm sorry, but it is that this point I feel that this throws the whole "mate" concept out the window. What ensues between the three of them is a marathon of sex which consists of masturbation, oral sex, anal sex, M/M oral sex and Avery's "mate", Violet having intercourse with his "brother". In all the books I have read where one is a "mate" to another the "mate" is never shared nor even allowed to be looked upon sexually without the male being demonstrating extreme possessiveness. That is what makes the term "mate" so sensual and desirable in a story.

Despite the flaws I am really interested in reading the next book in the series as it ended with a cliffhanger. They is so much potential in this series based on the plot, concept and characters alone. I really hope to see the author put more development into the storyline and characters then solely focusing on the sex alone. With a strong storyline (which it has if developed more) and characters (reinforcing the "mate" term and not making Violet just a nympho) I can see this series moving into some interesting storyline territory with the love and sex between Avery and Violet organically occurring alongside the story (no threesome if one is your "mate" please).

Interview with author Alianne Donnelly

Please welcome Alianne Donelly!

Hello Alianne, thanks so much for doing this interview. Would you tell us a little about yourself?

Alianne-Hi Laurie, thanks for having me =) It's great to be here. Hmm tough question first, huh? Let's see, 5' 10", brown hair... no wait, that's not what you're asking. I'm a Gemini which I think translates to a mild case of ADD but it's worked well for me so far. I figure if it can't hold my interest, it's probably not worth it anyway. Lol I love stories. History, fairy tales, mythology, if it gives me a glimpse into someone's live, real or imaginary, I'll take it over algebra any day. I can text on the phone or chat online for hours but I hate phones with a passion. And for being nearsighted I'm a pretty good shot with a recurve bow.

Laurie-What inspired you to write?

Alianne- I ran out of storage space in my head. =) Well, that was part of it. I was always making stuff up as a kid. Had bookshelves of books but rarely read because the stories I came up with entertained me more. Over time I realized that if I wrote a story down, I could give it more detail, and then it was easier to imagine myself inside it.

Laurie-Out of all the books you wrote, do you have a few that holds a special place in your heart. How about your heroes and heroines, do you have a favorite among them?

Alianne-There is a set of characters I keep returning to. At last count I'd written four stories about them and countless mini scenarios and random conversations. They are four elementals created by the gods to balance out the world. I don't think they will ever leave me and I like that they've become my friends over the years. As for books, I will always love Blood Moons. Tristan and Dara go through a lot together and apart. They have to fight for every inch they gain and rely on each other when that's the last thing they would want. It's an impossible situation for both of them to be in but they never give up. They're my inspiration.

What are some of your favorite author’s and some of your favorite books you’ve read?

Alianne-Karen Marie Moning, Kresley Cole, G. A. Aiken, and Larissa Ione. These ladies are amazing and I eagerly await each of their new releases. *side note here: FEVAH!!* Choosing favorite books is more difficult lol I love them all. Kiss of the Highlander will always have a place in my heart. I absolutely love Drustan. Pleasure of a Dark Prince is up there too. *shy smile* Garreth is my hero.

Laurie-What sub-genre that you write? Do you have a favorite?

Alianne-I've tried my hand at contemporary romance, fantasy, paranormal, sci-fi, time travel, even tried mixing and matching. Blood Moons is a cross between paranormal and sci-fi that I thought was pushing the limits. I've since learned that there are limits beyond those limits lol My favorite has to be fantasy/paranormal. It's what I fall back on whenever I get writer's block. I think it's my love of fairy tales asserting itself. Who wouldn't want to have magic powers or dragons for friends?

Laurie-Would you please tell these who have never hear of your Blood Moon series, a little about it?

Alianne-Dara would say it's an intense, dark love story with a lot of edge and passion - and not just the sexual kind. Tristan would tell you to read it and see for yourself. Then he'd get inside your mind to see what you imagine as you read it. Blood Moons is about their struggle to come to terms with themselves and the incredible attraction and need they have for each other. There's a bad guy too, but who cares about him? ;D

Laurie-What inspired you to write about an woman ending up in a jail cell with a man? I myself loved the idea, but I love different.

Alianne-Oh great question! It was the idea of a delicate innocent being thrust into a very dark, harsh world. Dara is the light in that prison and the draw of it was seeing how it would affect her, how she would react to it and how it would react to her. I didn't want her light to dim so I gave her a protector fully prepared to keep her safe, but so damaged and in need of redemption himself. They each become (or maybe always were) what the other needs most.

Laurie-Do you have a favorite scene in Blood Moon? If so, would you tell us?

Alianne-My favorite is the calm before the storm. Before they are forced apart, Tristan and Dara share a meal with the good Dr. Chase. Afterwards when they retire for the night, Tristan goes off by himself to sleep beneath the stars but he comes back to Dara as she's falling asleep. Tristan, by his own admission, has been made more animal than human by the time he meets Dara. But he shows her such gentleness and care - and she's so absolutely trusting despite having every reason not to be - that it melts my heart.

Laurie-Do you know how many book you have planed for this series?

Alianne-There will be three books in this series: Blood Moons, Blood Trails, and Blood Debts. Maybe in the future I will return to write more. There are definitely some characters in this world that intrigue me but so far they aren't sharing their stories.

Laurie-Would you tell us a little of what you’re working on next?

Alianne-Blood Trails is next. It's about the steadfast gentleman telepath Jeremy Calen and the force of nature that is Hailey Chase. Hailey takes it into her head that anything her sister can do, she can do too, so she picks up where Dr. Chase left off and makes herself into a shape shifter. The trouble is, it's killing her.

Two years ago, Cash lost his mate and abandoned his Montana pack. Now, he has found a reason to return. Rylie, daughter of the Wyoming Alpha, life has been uprooted. In less than twenty four hours, she has discovered her mate, Layne, refused him, and watched him kill her entire family to claim her. And now, she is on the run.

On her journey to free herself from Layne, destiny brings her Cash, a wolf determined to give her aid to right his wrongs. But how far will he go? When Rylie’s life is on the line, will he forget his pain to save her or will his loss seal her fate?

A Broken Bond is a quick and hot novella, with a little danger, adventure and some steaming sex. This would make for a good read when you have a lot to do, but would still like to get some reading in. I liked the characters and the story. I really liked the way the hero and heroine was caught breaking the bond from her former mate.

Half-Fae Laird Duncan MacDougall is cursed. His nights are haunted by Otherworld creatures sent to kill him. The only way to stop them is to possess the magic bow currently in the hands of his enemy half brother, Kinnon MacClaren. In desperation, Duncan plans to take MacClaren's bride-to-be hostage and exchange her for the bow.

Lady Alana Forbes has never met her intended, but she hopes he is handsome—and a good lover, for Alana is no innocent virgin. On her way to Castle Claren, Alana and her escorts are intercepted, and she is kidnapped by a man with extraordinary abilities—and every attribute she longs for in a mate.

Duncan didn't expect the woman he thought of as a mere pawn to be so beautiful, and so arousing. Alana is drawn to him as well—but Duncan still needs the bow, and Alana is betrothed to another. How far will Alana go to save the life of the man she's come to love?

Rating-

Sexual-

Laird of Darkness is a steamy erotic historical short story. I enjoyed the story more after I got past the middle of the book. I also enjoyed all the characters, but I was disappointed at the way it ended and I never really felt like I got into the whole story, too much was missing for me.

The sex is very, very hot and there is a nice connection between Duncan and Alana. The story goes some into Duncan past; I just never got to know much about Alana. Overall the book is a decent read I just wish the author would have gotten deeper with the characters and the story.
