Absolutely Fabulous!

What a great combination of stories wrapped around the theme of this anthology Kissed From Beyond. Every story was unique with its own style of writing leaving you with wanting more in the end. I loved how each story brought back the old soul/spirit/genie/ghost from the past into the present to bring pleasure to their destined lovers. The erotica scenes were HOT leaving my minds sexual hunger in sensory overload and my husband enjoying the repercussions. All the stories were fast reads and I loved all the characters to the point that I only wanted more of their story to continue.

My rating for each story are as follows:

Cradle of Dreams by Keta Diablo – 4 stars

I have to omit something about this paranormal historical read and that is that I usually do not read historical reads but this one changed my mind (loved it) and made me want to try more historical reads.  Sexual Scene includes anal sex.

A Love Soul Deep – 3 stars

This one was a good story, a little eerie because the spirit from the past really didn’t exist in the end but the lover ended up pregnant which was totally wicked.  Sexual Scene includes anal sex.

One Rub More – 3 stars

This story was cute and loved how the genie’s cures was broken.

Til We Meet Again – 4 stars

This story awed me in the end and I wanted it to last longer than it did.

Excellent Reads!

Genetically engineered for a single function, to breed, Camille has followed the rules and accepted the Goddess’s will as explained by the elders all her life. After artificial insemination fails, she gathers her courage, traveling to distant New Eden to try in-person breeding. When her matches fail to appear, the meek little breeder rebels, determined to leave the Goddess-forsaken world behind her as fast as the next ship home can make the jump to subspace.

Aegis exists only to fulfill his vow to avenge the death of his parents by a Baldorean blood mage. Not even the forbidden desire for Jaxon interferes with his quest. But contact with a breeder threatens everything he holds sacred.

For four years, Jaxon dreamed of tri-bond with Aegis. Isolated by hostilities in the endless war with Baldor, he’s trapped in the close quarters of their fighter with Aegis and Cami, his most secret dream come true. But instead of bliss, he finds himself plunged into a battle with prejudice, doubts, and jealousy.

Cami travels halfway across the universe, survives brutal rejection, humiliation and a firefight. Stranded with two fierce warriors, not even a broken heart will make her quit until she has the sperm she needs.

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Anal play/intercourse, interspecies sex, menage (m/m/f) male/male sexual practices, violence.

Fantastic Read! HOT!

Wow, all my favorite genre characteristics combined in one book. I loved the combination of a paranormal read in a sci-fi world (futuristic) that includes the fantasy of mages/wizard magic and powerful gifts. To top it off, the m/m and m/m/f erotica scenes made the story one HOT read. The book was a fast read and flowed perfectly with all the action going on between fighting their enemies and finding time for their destined mates.

Cami (human breeder), Jaxon (Human Soldier), and Aegis (Tethysian water demon) characters were extraordinary with their own individual back grounds and how they came about to the situation of becoming mates. Cami seemed to be a little naïve in the beginning and then all of a sudden she was one tough kick ass chick (totally loved it).

Jaxon was definitely the macho type and wanted to impress his mates by wanting to be the hero. His feelings were a little insecure between desire, jealousy, and protectiveness.

Finally, Aegis was one hot green demon who kept himself cloaked in a human disguise most of the time until he revealed himself to his two mates. He held a powerful demeanor of control in all situations especially when it came to claiming his mates. He controlled all the sexual actions and the mind melding’s of each mate.

Great Read! I wanted more and I will definitely be reading more of this author’s work.

Interview with paranormal romance author S.K. Yule

Please welcome paranormal romance author S.K. Yule!

Laurie-What inspired you to write?

S.K.-My imagination and desire to find a work from home job.

Laurie-Out of all the books you wrote, do you have a few that holds a special place in your heart. How about your heroes and heroines, do you have a favorite among them?

S.K.-Darkest Hours will always hold a special place in my heart since it was my first published novel. While I love the novel and view it as a labor of love and beginning of a career that I hope to have for the rest of my life, I also see it as a reference for how far I've come today. I enjoy comparing it to my writing style now. I have learned so much since then, and I hope to continue learning and improving over the years. I don't believe I will ever reach a point where I will think that I can no longer improve my skills.

As for characters, I think Malachi from Darkest Intentions holds a special place in my heart as he was the first dark character I've written in depth.I had loads of fun writing him.

Laurie-What are some of your favorite author’s and some of your favorite books you’ve read?

S.K.-Sherrilyn Kenyon
Elizabeth Hoyt
Paula Quinn
Angela Knight

Some books I love:  The Dark Hunter Series (Kenyon), and The Highlander Series (Quinn). I love intense stories with strong, stubborn and dominant males that back down from no one (except their women).

Laurie-You write both vampires and shape-shifters, do you have a favorite between the two?

S.K.-I have been fascinated by vampires since I was a little girl. I would sneak up late at night to watch all the horror movies. It was kind of funny because even now I remember I was never quite scared of Dracula as most kids should be. I never had nightmares or got scared. I was always just simply fascinated with the whole concept of vampires. I like to think that they are not the blood thirsty killers that Hollywood portrays, but the tortured predators of the night who long for a woman who can love and accept them for who they are.

Laurie-Do you have a favorite hero and heroine in your Darkest series? If so who?

S.K.-I like Ebony from Darkest Hours because she is a strong woman who overcomes many obstacles to find true love, and I like Malachi from Darkest Intentions because he conquers his tortured past.

Have you thought about writing a full length novel for you werewolf series?

S.K.-I have thought about writing a full length novel for the Lycan series, but at the present time, I have many projects I'm working on, including the next novella in the series called Lycan Heat. So, if time ever allows, I may try to write a full length novel for the series.

The Lycan series is about a dying breed of werewolves whose pack members have started turning rogue. The lycan race is threatened by the rogues as the rogues choose to view potential mates as fair game to all. But potential mates are, in fact, supposed to be protected by all lycans until the life mate to the potential mate is found. The series is about strong males who embrace the old laws to protect and uphold the integrity and survival of the race, and who finally find their life partners.

Laurie-Are you going to write anymore more books with Demons?

S.K.-I actually have a full length novel written that has a Demon hero. It is in need of a good editing, and I'm hoping at some point in the future to get back to it and get it done. I never know what I'm going to write until a particular mood and idea hit me. I never rule any type of character out. That is the joy of writing--no constraints and free flowing creativity.

Laurie-Would you tell us a little of what you’re working on next?

S.K.-Lycan Heat which is the next in the Lycan Series. I also have a historical menage that will be released by Red Sage on August 1, 2011, called Three Lovers For Lucy (I know, it's actually more than a manage). I am also in the process of finishing up another menage (true menage), a cowboy menage, and the next installment of the Darkest series.

Fun questions

What your favorite color?
Red

Do you have any pets?
Three yorkies, three miniature schnauzers, a rottweiler and two miniature horses.

What's your favorite movie and TV show?
That's a very difficult question. While I cannot think of any particular movie right off hand that I would consider my ultimate, all time favorite, I enjoy a wide range of movies from horror (which of course is my favorite) to drama to historical to romantic comedies. I don't really care for movies with unhappy endings and I don't care for mafia type movies in general.

I would have to say the same for TV shows--I can't single out one in particular. However, a few that I really like are (and you might be very surprised by some of my answers):  The Dukes of Hazzard (brings back fond childhood memories; The Three Stooges; Home Improvement; The Nanny; American Dad; King of The Hill; True Blood; The Tudors (loved, loved, loved); and That 70's Show to name a few.

Do you have a favorite food or place to eat?
Love to eat at Longhorn Steakhouse. My favorite home cooked meal is chicken and dumplings.

Thank you to all of my readers. It brings me great joy to know that I provide an escape (no matter how short) from reality with my writing. I like to think of my novellas and novels as mini vacations for all who read them, and if you are like me, you can always use a mini vacation from every day life.

She closed her eyes for a moment. “I can’t do this. I get so confused around you. You make me crazy.”
He inched closer to her. “Why does that have to be a bad thing? You make me crazy, too. The difference is, I like it when you make me crazy.”
She started to speak, but he placed one finger over her lips.
“Kiss me. Please. Just kiss me.”
He thought she’d refuse, but after several minutes of looking back and forth from the stairs that led out of the tub to him, she scooted closer. His breath caught in his throat when she pushed her fingers through his damp hair. His temperature rose to the point that he thought the water in the tub would start boiling at any moment. He dipped his head toward her and claimed her lips before she could change her mind.
She wound her arms around his neck, and he wrapped his around her waist and pulled her tight up against him. Her hot, wet body was pressed up against his. His cock hardened and hurt worse than when he’d awoken from the dream. He growled low in his throat and kissed her with the pent-up passion he’d been denied for years. He leaned back against the wall of the tub, pulling her with him. Her thighs rested across his, and he cupped her ass in his hands, plastering her tightly against him as he ravished her mouth.
“Rindy, I have to have you. You make me burn. I can think of nothing but being inside you.”
“Oh, Brent.” She kissed him and retreated. “I’m scared. I feel so hot and achy. I don’t understand the feelings I’m having. I’ve never had them before.”
He eased his fingers over one smooth thigh, and rested his palm over her mound. “Is this where you ache?”
She bit her bottom lip and nodded. He guided her hand to his cock, and she gasped. “I ache in the same place for you. Let me show you how we can ease the ache together.”
Passion burned in her eyes, but so did doubt and fear.
“I promise I won’t hurt you. Trust me, Rindy. Please, I’m begging you.”
She chewed her bottom lip and frowned. “I don’t understand why you affect me so. We’ve just met, yet I feel as if I’ve known you for a long time.”
“I feel the same way. I swear I will make it good for you.” He kissed her neck, and she wiggled closer to him, tilting her head to give him better access.
“Brent, I feel so strange. When you touch me, it’s as if my skin is heating from the inside out. I feel restless.” She leaned back and moaned as he continued nibbling on her sensitive skin.
“I know.” The taste of her was driving him wild. “But I also know what will make you feel better.”

Bitten's She-Wolf Pack Review Thursday for March - Eternity Embraced by Larissa Ione

Desire...

Demon slayer Andrea Cole has always taken down the demons and vampires she hunts without mercy. But when a fellow slayer is captured and turned into a vampire by a sadistic monster, she must choose between loyalty to her family and the man she loves.

Versus Instinct...

Kaden Quinn has dedicated his life to slaying vampires, so when he is turned into one, his greatest nightmare comes to life. And when the woman he loves is thrown into a dungeon with him - as food - he must battle new instincts and old desires, and choose between his life, and hers.

NOTE: This is a short novella that originally appeared in The Mammoth Book of Vampire Romance 2 and the anthology Vampires in Love. It has been expanded for its stand-alone digital release. In the Demonica timeline, it falls between book 3, Passion Unleashed, and book 4, Ecstasy Unveiled, though it can easily be read without having read the Demonica novels.

~Ronda's Review~

MY REVIEW RATING:  5 - an alpha howl
SEXUAL RATING:  HOT

Excellent! HOT!

Another great read by Larissa Ione - a world where the Ageis known as Guardians hunt down the creatures of the underworld but when one of them actually becomes one of those creatures, where do they turn? I love the fact that they still find in themselves that they still hold that sense of humanity but with intensified sences, that they still have feelings and still love, and mainly that they realize there will always be the good, the bad, and the ugly no matter what world you come from.

Great story and the erotic scene was HOT! I wanted more and couldn't believe how fast I read this short story, I litterly couldn't put it down.

Loved it!! Loved the characters, the plot, the romance. I really liked how she flew through some of the events so that the story actually took place over a long period of time.

REVIEW RATING:  2 - a small howl
SEXUAL RATING:  Steamy

Your usual yarn: Good Guy gets turned into a vampire against his will but doesn't turn evil. Of course, that only enhances his natural abilities. *wagging eyebrows* Said Good Guy takes revenge on Bad Vamp, gets The Girl, lives HEA.

The attraction here is this novella is part of Ms. Ione's Demonica Series. Do yourself a favor: Splurge on your favorite indulgence - chocolate or coffee or donut - instead, you'll get more satisfaction.

~Dee's Review~

REVIEW RATING:  2 - a small howl
SEXUAL RATING:  Steamy

Andrea Cole is part of the Aegis. Now she comes face to face with her worst fear. Her lover, Kaden Quinn, is in the hands of enemy vampires and she knows she might have to kill the love of her life. Especially, since she is now trapped in a cell with a starving Kaden.

Kaden made a vow to take his on life if ever transformed by the enemy. However, he just could not do it. Kaden is now trapped in a cell with his lover. Kaden feels the need to take Andrea’s body and blood, but will he be able to stop? And if he does will they truly be able to have a future?

To state the obvious this was a short read. Due to this fact I found the story lacking in the sexual department. A solid short story with pertinent facts to the series. However, if you are not reading the Demonica novels then this novella is not for you.

Review The Wish List by Gabi Stevens

Title:The Wish List
Author:gabi Stevens
Source:Requested review
Genre:Paranormal romance- Fairy godmother magic
Format: Mass-paper back
Authors website

When Kristin Montgomery discovers her three aunts are fairy godmothers and she's next in line for the job, her uncomplicated life disappears like magic. No, not like magic; it is magic. Kristin not only has to deal with burgeoning magical powers, but also a reluctant arbiter, a selfish sprite, and a suave French sorcerer. It’s bad enough there are no books or classes she can take to learn magic, but someone is out to take over the Arcani world. Kristin has to trust her heart and her instincts to keep herself and the ones she loves out of danger.

Rating-

Sexual-

The "Wish List" is a fun, magical read. If you like a magic story with a little sexy added to it, this is it. You have Lady Kristin, who knows nothing about magic, thrown into the magic world with a hot trainer. The two have an adventure that gets them into all kinds of trouble because Kristin is known as a “rare one” and it seems she is on someone’s hit list. Oh ya! They break quite a few rules along the way, LOL.

I enjoyed the characters and the plot. I simply loved the four aunts. They were a riot. The down side I found in this book was that it lacked in romance between the hero and heroine. There is good sex and sexual tension, but the connection, as you might find in other romance books, just isn’t there. I would have loved to have read more from Tennyson's POV. Also, the author goes into a good amount of detail describing the world in this book. That tended to drag the story out at times.

All in all, it’s a good story for Gabi’s first published book and I loved her writing style. I recommend this to anyone who would love a good magic story.

Interview with romance author Sondrae Bennett

Please welcome romance author Sondrae Bennett!

Laurie-Hello Sondrae, I want to thank you for do this interview. Would you tell us a little about yourself?

Sondrae-Thank you for having me! This is a hard question considering I completely turned my life upside down a couple months ago (quitting my job and moving from NYC to Michigan) but the two things that have always been constant in my life are my love of reading and my love of romance. I can't remember what age I was when my mom gave me my first romance novel but I was immediately hooked and have been ever since.

Laurie-What inspired you to write?

Sondrae-I've always been a hobby writer but it wasn't until a few years ago that I decided to pursue publication. I kept searching for specific story lines and wasn't able to find exactly what I wanted, so that made me consider writing them. But the real impetus was when I decided to enter a romance short story contest. I started Arctic Winds intending to enter it but before I knew it, I was way over the wordcount guidelines and not even half way done. I decided to keep going because I fell in love with my characters and wanted to see where their tale was going. When the story was finished I asked a friend to look at it and he pushes me to submit it. Luckily Lyrical Press thought it was as good as I did and published it.

Laurie- Out of all the books you wort, do you have a few that holds a special place in your heart? How about your heroes and heroines, do you have a favorite among them?

SondraeMy debut book, Arctic Winds, will always hold a special place in my heart for paving the way (and I love the story). Other than that the book I just got contracted, The Wolf Within, which is the third book in the series, stand out as one of my favorites. Even though she is barely in Arctic Winds, I always knew that Julie, the heroine of The Wolf Within, had something special in store for her. Turns out I was right. But I think whatever book I'm working on/ just finished is always gonna be among my favorites.

Laurie-What are some of your favorite author’s and some of your favorite books you’ve read?

Sondrae-My number one favorite book is Watchers by Dean Koontz. Even though it's not a romance novel, the book is filled with love and Einstein is one of my favorite characters of all time. My favorite romance writers include Shelly Laurenston, Kathleen E. Woodiwiss, Nora Roberts, Dana Marie Bell.... and so many more. I actually have a feature on my blog every Monday where I point out books and authors I'm in love with called Madly in Love Mondays.

Laurie-What sub-genre that you write? Do you have a favorite?

Sondrae-At the moment, I've only published paranormal romance but I've got a couple stories in the work that are contemporary and one erotica.

Laurie-Would you tell us a little of what you’re working on next?

Sondrae-Well, the next two books in the Alpine Woods Shifters Series, Arctic Winds being the first, are finished and contracted with Lyrical Press. Chasing Paradise will be out in August and The Wolf Within in November. Other than that I'm concentrating on writing a contemporary story about a woman who gets a second chance at love. I'm also researching a new paranormal series I've been wanting to write and of course I have plans for the forth and fifth books in the Alpine Woods Shifters as well. Needless to say, I'm keeping busy.

Laurie-I loved reading your Arctic Winds eBook. Would you tell those who have never heard of this book a little about it.?

Sondrae-Arctic Winds is a paranormal romance between an arctic fox shifter, Samantha, who’s been abandoned and on her own, and an alpha wolf, Jason, who’s the leader of his pack. She stumbles into his pack’s diner with barely more than the clothes on her back, terrified of other shifters. He has to prove to her that she’s not only worthy of love and respect but that she belongs with him, despite the interference of the jealous female wolves in the pack and the male foxes in the neighboring town.

Laurie-You have so many great characters in Arctic Winds are you paining on writing more? If so who is next?

Sondrae-Yes! The second book, Chasing Paradise is the middle of edits right now and is slotted to be released in August. It's Ethan's story, Jason's brother, and it's a very emotional and angsty story. I'm just getting started on The Wolf Within edits, the third book in the series. It's Julie, the youngest sibling's, story and it's scheduled for a November release. Needless to say I'm not done with the characters quite yet. :)

Laurie-What was your favorite scene in Arctic Winds?

Sondrae-This is a hard question! I've got a couple that stand out in my mind. I'll try not to give away any spoilers. My top two are probably the massage scene and the parking lot scene.

Laurie-I loved the heroine as an arctic fox, it’s different. How did you get this idea?

Sondrae-I didn't understand why shifters had to be wolves, bears, large cats, and other predators and wanted to create something different. Jason was actually originally going to be a red fox but... well he set me straight on that one. But I liked using unique shifters. In fact, Ethan's mate in Chasing Paradise, Gwen, is an otter shifter. One of my favorite scenes is one where she's hunting fish in the water.

Fun questions
What your favorite color? Green (especially a dark forest green)

Do you have any pets? 2 dogs, a wire haired fox terrier and a wheaten terrier

What your favorite movie and TV show?
Tough one! I have to say Newsies and Survivor but it depends on what day you ask me. Close seconds are Aliens and Legend of the Seeker.

Do you have a favorite food or place to eat?
I love chicken parmesan. That's probably my favorite but I also love a good cheeseburger and fries.
Thanks again for having me!

New blood book blogger on the block interview Lori from Romancing the Darkside

Everyone please welcome my new blood book blog on the block for March. It's Lori from Romancing the Darkside

Laurie-Tell us a little about yourself?

Lori-Hey everyone and thanks for having me! I'm a  single NYC girl who is currently between jobs and dedicating her spare time to catching up on lost reading time! I'm a compulsive book buyer who definitely would have a seat with my name on it in a Book Addicts Anonymous meeting if there was such a thing.

Laurie-How long have you been reading? What’s your favorite genre?

Lori-I've been reading since I was about 5 years old. Reading was always a passion for me and I always had a book or two in my hands.
My favorite genre is paranormal romance, especially vampire paranormal romance...I love vampires!

Laurie-When and why did you start doing book reviews?

Lori-I started writing reviews when I joined Shelfari to share my love or dislike for the books I read with friends and other members. I always find it helpful when someone gives their honest opinion of a book and hope my reviews help others in deciding whether to read a book or not

Laurie-How long have you been reviewing books?
Lori-I've been reviewing books for almost three years.

Laurie-Do you take notes for your reviews while you read?

Lori-I don't usually take notes while I read but I'll bookmark or tag a quote I really like to incorporate in my review.

Laurie-Why did you started a book blog?

Lori-I started a book blog to share my love of books with fellow book lovers and friends. I was reviewing for another site for a little bit but decided to do something on my own and review the books I love to read. I also love meeting other book lovers!

Laurie-How long doest it usually take you to read and write a review for your blog?

Lori-It takes me 1-2 days to read a book if I don't have distractions. A review can take anywhere from an hour to a full day. Sometimes I know exactly what I want to write and there are times that I need a little time to reflect before I start writing.

Laurie-What’s the hardest thing you had to do in setting up your blog?

Lori-The hardest thing in setting up my blog was coming up with its name! Once I had that everything else just fell into place. It's still a work in progress but I'm having fun working on it.

Laurie-What’s the most exciting thing that has happened to you since your started your blog?

Lori-Being asked to do this interview has been the most exciting thing to happen to me since I started my blog! I wasn't expecting this since my blog is really new.  I hope to have author interviews and get to chat with some of my fave authors soon!

Laurie-What’s your favorite thing to do on your blog?

Lori-I love to post the weekly meme's I participate in and I really love to read comments posted, it's great when someone takes their time to write a great comment, it makes the blogging experience worthwhile!

Laurie-Any tips that you have for a new up coming book blogger?

Lori-Have fun and stay true to yourself. Some bloggers read quickly and post a new review every day and some read slower and review one or two a week...never feel the need to compete with others...do things at your own pace!

Laurie-What’s the most books you read in a week?

Lori-The most I read in a week is 3-4 books, I can squeeze in more if they're novellas.

Review Diary of a Narcissistic Bloodsucker by Lynda Hilburn

Title:Diary of a Narcissistic Bloodsucker
Author:Lynda Hilburn
Source: I received from Lynda
Genre- Paranormal with sex, but not a romance
Length:Novella
Authors website

Told in first person by the vampire herself (Zara), this is the diary of an ancient, self-absorbed, yet-amusing nightwalker. She lusts for both sex and blood. Unfortunately, something has gone awry and her normal habits now create new problems to solve. In the midst of sorting things out, she meets an intriguing human named Niven -- a musician who lives in the magical kingdom of contemporary Boulder, CO -- and discovers that he is much more than he appears to be. Then, if things weren't interesting enough, Zara encounters her old mentor/lover -- the vampire who originally turned her -- and things get downright supernatural.

Diary of a Narcissistic Bloodsucker is a very bizarre story that I found fun. This story is told in Zana POV and I will tell you up front, as always, this lady can get on someone’s nerves with her  narcissistic outrageous voice. Yep, it all about her and let me tell you she gets the last laugh and if I might say, if I were a vampire in her shoes I would have done the same. Yep, the maker gets what he deserves for a change. If you’re looking for a sweet romance here, you won’t find it in this novella! You will find some hot sex, one narcissistic lady vampire and a totally different ending. Now, I hope Lynda will write more of these Diaries because I for one would like to see what else Zana can get into.

Interview with author Amanda E. Alvarez

Please welcome Amanda Alvarez author of Hunting Human!

Amanda would you please tell us a little about yourself?
Amanda: I'd say I'm pretty average.  I'm 29, I live in Dallas, TX with my two (extremely spoiled) cats.  I work as a lawyer during the day and sometimes, when I'm really lucky, I have the time and energy to write at night and on the weekends.

Laurie-What inspired you to write?
Amanda:  I'm not sure inspired is necessarily the right word.  Writing wasn't a childhood ambition for me and while I always enjoyed writing in school I never seriously considered it as a potential career choice.  I can say that I have always loved reading - particularly during times of high stress.  Books provide such a wonderful escape.  I suppose it was only a matter of time before I asked one 'what if' question too many and started creating stories of my own.  From there I considered it a challenge to see if I actually could write a book.

Laurie-Out of all the books you wrote, do you have a few that holds a special place in your heart. How about your heroes and heroines, do you have a favorite among them?
Amanda:  Hunting Human is the the first book I ever wrote.  It was the first plot that came to mind and Beth was the first heroine I envisioned, so naturally that book will always hold a special place in my heart.  I learned a lot writing (and rewriting!) Hunting Human and I suspect those lessons and discoveries will be with me for every future book I write.  But when it comes to character?  I'll say that Chase is the one that fascinates me the most.

Laurie-What are some of your favorite authors and some of your favorite books you’ve read?
Amanda:  My reading habits have been all over the place over the years but there are a select few books that I find myself going back to time after time.  Lightning by Dean Koontz is a favorite. (romance, time travel and a strong heroine, what's not to love?)  Harry Potter captivated me from the very beginning and I always discover something new to love when I read the series again.

Laurie-What was your favorite part of writing Hunting Human?
Amanda:  Finishing it?  It sounds funny but it's the truth.  The best part about writing that book was discovering that I could do it in the first place.  But the scenes I enjoyed writing the most were the scenes between the Edwards siblings, they always surprised me.

Laurie-Are you going to write more about the rest of the Edwards characters and make this a series? I know I would love for you to.
Amanda:  Yes!  I absolutely intend the continue the series with Caleb, Lucy and Chase.

Laurie-Do you have a reason you picked Portland as a setting?
Amanda:  I did a lot of research on cities along the upper west coast and Portland just had the right feel for what I was looking for.

Laurie-Do you have a favorite quote in Hunting Human? If so what?
Amanda:  Not off the top of my head, though I really enjoyed writing Lucy and Chase's banter.

Laurie-About how long did it take you from witting to having Hunting Human published?
Amanda:  I finished the book in March of 2010 and I sold it to my publisher, Carina Press, in August of the same year, but writing the book took quite a bit longer.  I got the first vague idea for the book in 2006.  I let it rattle around for about two years before I wrote anything down.  I wrote the first couple of chapters in the fall of 2008, took a lot of writing courses, learned a lot, and plotted the idea fully in early 2009.  But the vast majority of the book I wrote in July and August of 2009.  I let it sit for a while in the fall of '09 then spent most of the winter putting myself through the editorial process.  So from first vague idea to the acquisition call I guess it took about four years.  :)

Laurie-Would you tell us a little of what you’re working on next?
Amanda:  My current work in progress is a romantic suspense with strong paranormal elements.

Fun questions
What your favorite color?
A:  Green, to me it's a happy, energetic color.

Do you have any pets?
A:  I have one regular sized cat with stripes and one jumbo sized cat with spots.  They own me and they know it.

What your favorite movie and TV show?
A:  Tough questions!  I could never pick a favorite movie because I love movies for so many different reasons.  Some are beautiful to watch, some make you think, some have excellent writing - picking a favorite would be like picking a favorite sort of chocolate.  I've got room on my plate to savor them all!  As far as TV goes I don't have as much time to watch as I might like, but there are a few shows I really enjoy.  I watch Supernatural with a really good friend of mine - burgers, beers and boys are always a good way to end the week!  I've also recently discovered Criminal Minds and I find the show fascinating.

Do you have a favorite food or place to eat?
A: Not especially, I like most types of food and just enjoy going out with friends in general.  I will say that I have a sweet tooth so a restaurant with a good dessert (chocolate!) is always a winner with me.
