Review The Sims Medieval

The Sims Medieval is rated T for teen
Website

Way before I started reading and reviewing paranormal romance books I fell in love with The Sims 2. I still play The Sims 2 and 3 on the weekends and during the week if I get bored with a book and need to focus on something else for a while.

The Sims has come out with a game for people would have like to have lived in medieval times and just wouldn't you know I just by happen to be one of them people LOL, so I just had to get this game. I hope you enjoy the review even though it's not a book. ~Laurie~

Rating-

The Sims Medieval isn’t your ordinary The Sims pc fun free world. Oh no, this is an adventure that no Sims gamer should miss out on, especially if you have always wanted to live in Medieval times. At first I didn’t think I would like it, but the more I played the more I loved it. With The Sims Medieval being a quest game it more like World of Warcraft or Runescape, so if you loved these games you just may fall for this one. As for us normal Sims 2 and 3 pc gamers you may not fall for this game right off the bat. You have to pursue your quest, so that means you can’t do what you want with your Sims or your progress will suffer, there for your whole game suffers. So give it a little time before you stress out and give up. Luck for me I have a daughter that loves Runescape and Warcraft, so I got a little help with my quest or I might have quit. I like my Sims freedom *wink* lol.

I love the world the Sims creators have come up with and the kingdoms they give you a choice of, I like the Barbarian the best so far. You get to play each hero at different times, then sometimes you get to play two heroes at once, that one was really hard at first.

As of now I have all of my buildings and hero’s. I have to at least put my reading books down for two hours a day now to play. All of the quests I have played have been fun. Some quests are easy, then some are brain teasers, so be careful.

Tips below.
First tip: I am one that buys the game guides and usually never uses them. This game I defiantly had to get the guide in order to play and it was still hard to do some of the quest.

Second tip: You have to full your quest to get your buildings, so take you time and get you quest right as much as you can, there for you get your points for your other buildings.

Third tip: Not all heroes gets to hunt, but the ones that does make them hunt as quick as you can so you can get fuller faster. Or you can use your cheat and buy the food.

Forth tip: Have your wizard discover the plants and the rock piles I call them piles of poop it’s what they look like to me LOL. But really he/she needs them right off the bat and it will not make his or hers progress go down.

Fifth tip: Replace the stinking beds ASAP!! I hate to have my Sims sleep forever lolls.

Sixth tip: Watch out when you start or end your quest if you see a building icon turn green you can add that building right then. Then you can create or pick your character for that hero.

My gripes so far:
I hate the camera movement. I like The Sims 2 and 3 360 degrees turn around, there for I hate this camera that just goes side to side.

More clothes!! They don’t give you enough for my taste.

I wish they made each quest a little more explained. Example I was playing the spy and I has to make a potion of poison and make the Sims take it. I got the potion made no problem, but I had to freaking rack my brain to figure it out how to give it to the other Sims.

This is a fantastic game that’s not to be missed.

Pictures I took of my medieval Sims

Here's how we pee in Medieval Sims LOL

Here's my spy Sims being placed in the stocks. I couldn't keep her out of trouble. She was in these stocks 5 times ugh lol.
Spy Sims making poison

My spy Sims got sick, so you know how they done it then. OK doc I'm ready bring on the leaches LOL.

This is just a little bit of the fun I have been having. Now, go and buy The Sims Medieval, so you can join in the fun!!

Long ago Javier chose to walk away from one person that mattered most in his life. Now that he is free to once again roam the Earth, he becomes obsessed with making up for past mistakes. His mission is to gain Catherine’s vote on the Immortal Council, but when he sees her he realizes he wants much more than her support for the vampires. He wants her heart. When she disappears from the Immortal Council’s halls, he tracks her down, determined to get her to remember the past — and the love they once shared.

Catherine can’t let the passion she had with Javier rekindle again — no matter what the cost. Much has changed since he abandoned her so long ago. With the Immortal Council fragmented and her werewolf king abducted, Catherine has little patience for Javier’s empty promises. Still, Javier is persistent, and soon she sees the value in having an ancient vampire for an ally. A deal is struck: she will submit to his every carnal desire if she can gain his aid in finding her king. Unfortunately, things don’t go as planned, and their erotic interludes ignite the passionate anger of Catherine’s only fey ally. Can the three of them put aside their obsessions long enough to free the tortured werewolf king? They must do it soon, for a dark presence looms on the horizon that threatens the stability of the Immortal Realm – and will force Catherine to choose between her clan and her heart.

SEXUAL

Javier left Catherine 200 years ago without a word.  Now he’s back and wanting to pick-up where they left off.  Only this time, Catherine isn’t the same young wolf Javier knew; she has done quite a bit of growing up since then.  She is on an undercover mission with the fey, Talen, to save both of their clans and the Were King Brac, who has been kidnapped by the Fey King, Feroas.  Javier could very well put their lives in danger.  Someone has been helping Feroas gain more magick and power.

Now he waltzed back into her life, expecting to pick up right where they had left off.  He should have known that things had changed.  Life wasn’t the same as when they were both young senators in Barcelona.  It was more complicated now and more dangerous.

I liked the premise of this story:  kidnapping, suspense, and subterfuge with the addition of a bit of ménage a trios (m/f/m = vamp/were/fey), m/m, and a bit of bondage.  However, when the characters kept referring to the Senate in Barcelona and the Immortal Council, I felt as if I was missing something important.  Maybe it was the back story of the Council and the history of Javier and Catherine.

The one ménage scene was puzzling.  I understand what and why Javier, Catherine and Talen participated, but it didn’t work for me.  The scenes between Catherine and Javier were hot and intense - those silken, heated ribbons Javier used…..well…..  The m/m went overboard with the cruelty involved.

Javier remembered the rumors he had heard back in Barcelona of the fey king’s sexual preferences.  Feroas dominated his servants in every way possible and that included sexually.  It didn’t matter whether they were male or female.  The tales of abuse and humiliation made Javier cringe.
King Feroas was using orgies, sex and violence, and the energies they produced to gain more and more power.  Feroas hunger for power is almost comical.

If you’re a Suzanne Rock fan and you enjoyed Book 1 of the Immortal Realms, I’m sure you’ll like this one.  For me, the promise of an impressive tale was lost in the tangle of brutality and magick, magick, magick.

Guest author Kate Douglas and giveaways give aways now closed

Please welcome Kate Douglas!

What about those Beta heroes?

This is going to sound really dumb, but it wasn't until I read Victoria Dahl's wonderful contemporary romance, CRAZY FOR LOVE, that I realized what all four of my DemonSlayers stories have in common--first of all, an explanation. Victoria's hero Max is as neurotic as they come. He's OCD in a big way--worries about everything and has spent his entire life in denial, hiding the issues that truly rule his life. I LOVE Max Sullivan, because there's nothing I love more than a convoluted, multi-layered hero with issues, otherwise known as the beta hero.

And then it dawned on me--every single hero in all four of my DEMONSLAYERS stories is a beta! I'm so used to writing my alpha Chanku men in Wolf Tales that it didn't dawn on me that the men in these DemonSlayer stories were anything BUT alphas. Take Dax, my hero in DemonFire--he starts out as a demon who's too good for hell, gets kicked OUT of hell, aka the abyss, and ends up in the void. He's hired by the denizens of Paradise (aka heaven) to fight a demon invasion on earth, but before he can turn his demon powers on the bad guys, he gets hit with demonfire and a terrible curse that turns his powers against him. Throughout the entire story, it's not Dax saving the day, it's Eddy, the woman who rescues him from a demon possessed garden gnome. Does Dax fight Eddy for the right to be manly? No, because he accepts the fact she's tough and brave and knows more about earth than he does. And, by working together, they manage to survive everything the demon king throws at them. In fact, it’s Eddy who saves just about everyone, but did I recognize Dax as a beta? Nope. Missed it altogether. Go figure...

Then we get to HellFire--who's the hero? A Lemurian named Alton who's never fought a battle in his life. He ends up partnered with Ginny Jones, a tough woman of color with no fear at all and a secret that could very well change the course of the demon wars. Alton doesn't give Ginny a lot of grief--oh, he does try to protect her, but he quickly learns that Ginny is a lot tougher than she looks. She's smart and self-confident, and Alton hasn't got a chance. But he's most definitely not an alpha hero. No, he's a simple man, even though he's an immortal Lemurian, and he lets Ginny take the lead...though he really, REALLY wants to drive her car. And again, I thought I was writing the typical alpha male. Uh...nope. Not Alton.

The book that's coming out April 1 as a Kindle or Nook, and on April 5 in print, StarFire, has another beta hero. This one I kind of guessed, bu that’s because Dawson Buck is a nerd. No excuses--he knows he's a nerd. He's a veterinarian who prefers animals to people because they don't come with baggage. He's cute and sweet and his employees love to tease him because he believes in things--like the energy vortexes around Sedona, and Lemurians and demons. What they don't know is that he believes because he's seen them--in HellFire he's the one who comes up with a way to capture demons when they become nothing more than wraiths to escape--he sucks them up with his shop vacuum and freezes them in little baggies--demon cubes! In StarFire, he's asked to care for a badly injured Lemurian slave--one of the Forgotten Ones. Selyn has been so badly beaten that, had she been human, she would not have survived. But Lemurians are tough, and Dawson treats her injuries, and is drawn even deeper into the demon wars when he and Selyn end up deep within Lemuria fighting demonkind and helping to raise an army against the ungodly host. But Dawson always defers to Selyn's strength and intelligence, even as he's falling desperately in love with her. That alone is tearing him apart--she's immortal and he's not, so there's no point in loving her. Or is there? This story takes Dawson on the ride of his life, and I had a mental image of him blinking in wonder and astonishment at everything that happens to him.

I'm not going to say too much about CrystalFire, yet. :-) It comes out next fall, and this book will star the Lemurian philosopher Taron, and Willow, the will o' the wisp who was first introduced in DemonFire. Her body is gone and her consciousness trapped inside Bumper the dog, but there's a bit of a switch in the final story that ends up with Taron—and Willow as a lovely young woman—falling in love even as they are left to battle the demon king on their own. The fate of all worlds will depend on their success as the balance of good and evil comes closer to that final tipping point. All that is good is threatened to succumb to the power of evil. Or does it?

For now, I bring you StarFire and one of four of the sexiest beta heroes I can possibly imagine. Strong and loving, trustworthy and brave even when saddled with self-doubt and fear, they still come through in the end. I love all the levels of personality with these guys--they're smart and thoughtful, handsome and loving, and they love their women every bit as much as they respect their woman’s strength and intelligence. I just don't think it can get any better, ya know?

Of course, if you’re waiting on a good alpha, don’t forget that the final Wolf Tales book, Wolf Tales 12, releases at the end of June. I know you’re going to love this story! It answers all the questions you’ve had, and even some you might not have thought of. There’s a first chapter on my website if you’re a little bit curious.

Thanks, Laurie, for once again allowing me to hijack your blog! As always, I’ve got a couple of books to give away, though I’m NOT giving away a copy of StarFire. I really am hoping my readers will buy this book because I need to get the numbers up there. There’s a good chance that if StarFire does well, I’ll get to do my second generation series about the Chanku kids—I’m so anxious to write Lily and Alex and all the others as grown ups, but the publishing business is all about the numbers. (I am, however, giving two people who leave comments a chance to choose either DemonFire, HellFire or Nocturnal, or one of the newer Wolf Tales or Sexy Beast books)

Take care, all,

"Pure power flooded her body flowing freely through her veins. She had just found an emotion stronger than anger and fear combined. Lust. And there was no containing her now".

After fleeing her native city - and nightmares of a traumatic childhood - Sage Peterson meets the overbearing, pretentious, yet haunted Professor Elias. He's the only one who knows about her mysterious powers, which seem to be spiraling out of control. When he convinces her to train with him, she finds herself thrust into a five hundred year war and on the run from vampires, werewolves, and even worse - her budding feelings for James Elias.

James had been living a dull and empty existence for the past century and a half. When a fiery half-sorceress, half-witch with a stubborn streak and sharp wit enters his life, he sees her only as a potential weapon to use against his greatest enemy. But when he discovers the vulnerable woman beneath the angry mask, instinct screams to keep her safe. To protect and provide. And to claim her as his.

But will it be too late? As passion and lust ignite between them, vengeance is slipping away. And when Sage is confronted with fulfilling an unexpected destiny, will she choose to trust James with her heart?

RATING:

SEXUAL RATING:

Dee's Thoughts:

Honestly, I had to put this one down. I just wasn’t immediately drawn into the characters. When I came back I could kick myself for ever stopping. I am such a schmuck!

Sage is an extremely strong character. I enjoyed the personal, internal journey the author lead us on. The author does an exceptional job in expressing the emotions Sage has and is going through making a connection form easily with the character. She is also completely kick-ass and you have to love that.

James is an arrogant, know-it-all, but sexy as hell professor. His initial intentions for Sage were not so honorable, but James soon realizes love is more important than vengeance. When this happens the alpha male comes out, and the “MINE” phrases begin. You know I love that!!! Yes I do!!!

There is quite a few surprises in this novel, and that I enjoyed. The sarcastic humor was exceptional. Shaw pulled a snort or two from me, I will admit. However, what lacked for me was the sexual relationship of the characters. The first encounters (plural) were referred to but not addressed. This left a big void for me in the novel. I sat back and thought “What the heck! When did that happen?” and flipped back pages to see if I missed something. Then I read the page numbers to see if I was missing pages. Next I realized the information I was looking for just wasn’t there! There is a scene eventually where the leads have a private meeting, but at that point I was a wee bit frustrated.

Would I read the next addition? YES, for the great sarcastic humor, and the potential of a great series.

Inside the heart of every warrior breathes the soul of a hero--even within The Heart of War.

Meet Ares God of War is the greatest Warrior the world has ever known, he's also moody, grumpy, dominant, ravenously sexual, and above all, built like a Greek God.

Suspected of killing his Daughter in-Law, Psyche, and long in exile from Olympus, the solitude of Ares' island is interrupted when Magdalena MacLeod a brash and sometimes manipulative Fey washes up on Ares' island after believing she's been shipwrecked. There is no wreck and her memory of events is sketchy at best. Branded with a golden chastity belt bearing the mark of Cernunnos, Celtic God of the Forest and Death, Alena has been on the run from the Great Horned God for 200 years.

As Ares and Alena grow closer discord erupts on the island as his head woman, Kat, plots to get rid of Alena and the Olympians plot to use her in their endeavor to discover who killed Artemis. Ares will have to choose between his Divinely Dysfunctional Family, his pride, and Alena before dueling to the death with the God of the Forest.

Come along for an epic adventure of erotica, steamy romance, and drama in this Modern Day Greek Tragedy. Battle Ancient Gods and Fall in Love along side Ares God of War and Alena MacLeod. Theirs is a love that will rock the world from the heights of Olympus to the Celtic moors.

Excellent Read!

Mythology lovers will eat this book up. The story woven for Aries the God of War is absolutely fantastic. The romance between Aries and Maggie (Alena) Macleod ½ Fey and ½ Goddess is brilliantly written with lots of emotional trials between them both. The sex scene between them is very HOT as well and will leave you in an awed and unbelieving WTF state.

I love how this book gives you the insight into the world between all the gods and goddesses with their deceit of back stabbing, jealousy rage and hatred, secrets kept to use at a later date to get their way for bargaining, love with lots of passion, and viciousness of power and abuse of power.

Some may find this read a little shocking because there are several scenes of possessiveness and brutal rape with torture, but I can promise that the revenge is kick-ass sweet that will make you want to say out loud “F#@kin A” or “Take that you A-hole” and then smile.

Excellent and Fantastic read. It was 500 pages long but every page only draws you further into the story and captures your emotions and interests immediately. I totally loved it!

I look forward to reading the next installment “Child of War” in this new series .

Interview with romance author Heather Webber

Todays interview is with romance author Heather Webber. Please give her a warm welcome.

Laurie- Hello Heather, first I want to think you for doing this interview. Now, would you please tell us a little about yourself?

Heather-I’m so happy to be here—thank YOU. About me? I’m just your average mom-next-door who makes things up for a living. I have an overactive imagination and put it to good use.

Laurie- What inspired you to write?

Heather-That should really be “who inspired you to write.” My husband. I woke up one morning many moons ago with a full story in my head. I told him about how it would make a great movie, then quickly changed my mind because of all the plot intricacies and said it would make an even better book. He said, “Write it.” As if it was that simple! But...I did. That story is now in my closet in a big binder cohabitating with the dust bunnies, but that book started my career. I haven’t looked back.

Laurie-Out of all the books you wrote, do you have a few that holds a special place in your heart. How about your heroes and heroines, do you have a favorite among them?

Heather-That’s a tough question. It’s hard to pick and choose, because some are favorites for different reasons. Trouble in Spades, the second in the Nina Quinn mystery series, is a favorite because it really showcases my voice, my humor, my plotting. Truly, Madly, the first in the Lucy Valentine series, is also a favorite. I love that story! And I just can’t choose among my characters—I love them all, right down to the quirky pets.

Laurie- What are some of your favorite author’s and some of your favorite books you’ve read?

Heather-Too many to name. I love reading mysteries and romance, old favorites to debut authors. My go-to book when I’m sick or just need to escape is Son of the Morning, a paranormal romance by Linda Howard. My copy is in sad shape—that’s how many times it’s been read.

Laurie- Would you please tell those who have never heard of your Lucy Valentine series a little about Lucy?

Heather-Lucy is the black sheep of a psychic matchmaking family, a family that owns a wildly successful matchmaking firm because they can see auras and match people based on color. Lucy, however, lost that ability when she was young, and only has the psychic ability to find lost objects-something she thinks is quite useless until she “sees” a vision of a diamond ring on the hand of a skeleton. She’s launched into a murder investigation and also tries to help find a missing little boy. There’s a sexy PI helping her out (who has secrets of his own), an annoying reporter dogging her, and a very dysfunctional family and some lovable friends also in the mix. Hopefully Lucy’s stories will make a reader laugh, cry, sigh.

Laurie- What inspired you to write about Lucy Valentine?

Heather-I’m not quite sure where she came from—she was just there one day. I knew I wanted to do a paranormal, and I’d always been fascinated by psychics. However, she had to be a psychic with limitations—or else there’d be no mystery. I loved the name “Valentine” so I knew I had to have an element of romance. I mixed them together and Truly, Madly was born.

Laurie- Do you add anything about yourself into your character Lucy, if so what?

Heather-I think there’s always a little of the author in every character, especially when writing first person. Lucy and I have the same humor, the same sense of injustice. We both love animals and are extremely loyal to our families. Physically, we have nothing in common—and she’s much more brave and outgoing than I am. Plus, she’s psychic, which I am not!

Laurie- Do you know yet how many books you’re going to right about Lucy Valentine?

Heather-Right now there’s three, plus a short story. I hope to write the fourth this year, but when it will be published and with whom is still up in the air...

Laurie- Do you have a favorite quote of Lucy’s, if so what?

Heather-I can’t think of one off the top of my head!

Laurie- Anything else you would like to add about Lucy?

Heather-Hmm. I hear a lot from readers about how they feel like Lucy is their friend, that they’d love to hang out with her—and I think that’s one of the best compliments ever.

Laurie- Would you tell us a little about what you’re working on next?

Heather-Currently I’m working on a new paranormal mystery series featuring novice witch Darcy Merriweather. The first book It Takes a Witch will be out in January 2012 under my pen name Heather Blake. More info here: www.heatherblakebooks.com

I’m also working on a Nina Quinn novella, and of course, a fourth Lucy book.

Fun questions
What your favorite color?
Red, though it changes depending on my mood.

Do you have any pets?
Max, the immortal fish. We had hamsters for a while (Lucy’s one-eyed hamster Odysseus is based on one of our former hammies), but after the last one passed, I couldn’t bring myself to get another. Some day.

What’s your favorite movie and TV show? The Amazing Race. I’d love to go on it, but I couldn’t eat the crazy food at some of the challenges! Movie? I’d have to say Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Love it.

Do you have a favorite food or place to eat?
My favorite food is chips and dip, and my current favorite place to eat is PF Changs. Mmmm.

My Review -

Ultimate Breed is an interesting paranormal romance/urban fantasy story that focuses on a female vampire breeder (Mistress Skye) who is the target of vampire hunters who want not only her dead but her unborn child dead as well. They almost succeeded if not for a series of lucky breaks that lead her to the one man who may be the only one who can protect her, but also captures her heart for the first time in her existence.

Ultimate Breed has a very unique mythology not only regarding vampires, but regarding weres such as were-hyenas and tigers who are live among humans without their knowledge and are hunted by Hunters. Also the "creation" theory regarding vampires is not only intriguing, but how they are viewed by the "Ultimate" (God) and Lucifer provide a new perspective in this genre. Though the secondary characters are weres their primary role in the story is to help Skye and Adrian in finding the people involved in the assassination attempt, thus we don't learn very much about their capablilities.

I enjoyed this book, but found that it took a long time (halfway through the book) before Skye and Adrian got together and even then there was very little sexual tension built up make me feel any intensity between them. I could understand her lust for Adrian due to her feeling sensations that have never occurred to her before (despite being a breeder of vampires no passion was ever involved in the procreation of the species), but not passion or love.

I just wished more was fleshed out with both the characters and their relationship. I liked the characters, but felt I never really got to know them or really feel for their plight. The plot while interesting, never had me on the edge of my seat anxiously wanting to know what was going to happen next. Though it felt more like an urban fantasy book then a paranormal romance book, the action and suspense could have been more intriguing and action packed.

If you want a light read with a twist on vampire mythology then check this book out, but don't expect it to be a nail-biter.

It is an attraction fiery Iona McKinley experiences firsthand when she is taken by Prince Struan Tolmach, Lead Alpha of the Faol. His touch is thrilling and arousing...but she's destined to be claimed by another warrior. Will Struan risk losing his clan to keep Iona for himself?

Claimed by the Wolf Prince is the frist book in the Legend of the Foal trilogy and it's mix of historical and paranormal romance. I found this novella very entertaining and sexy to read. I really enjoyed the characters and the story.

Laird McKinley bartered what was most precious to him years ago to Struan and he is now ready to take what the Laird owes for his people the Foul, which would be the Laird daughter Iona. The thing will be can Struan let her go when its time? Iona is now in a world that she knows nothing about faced with too many choices that she wants no part of because all she wants is to go home, but Struan stirs something in her in a way that she also wants to say, but she can’t have Struan or can she? What I liked most in reading this story was Struan was able to give up what is most precious to him at the end.

For staving off eternal darkness could have a staggering cost: Cara's life.

Larissa Ione knows how to ride in with a fantastic start of a new hot freaking series. I loved Eternal Rider and need more!! Who wouldn’t like to read about 3 sexy horsemen and one hot lady horseman of the apocalypse along with the addition of demons, vampires, hellhounds and more. As you guessed it Ione gives you tons of excitement danger and lots of hot wicked sex. This author always amazes me with how deep she gets into her storyline and always makes it exciting to read.

Cara is having a streak of miss fortune. She is behind on her bills. She has a talent that she doesn’t use because it causes more problems. When a dog is delivered to her in need of a vet she never thinks that helping him with her hidden talent would start a chain reaction that could start an apocalypse, oh no, never in her dreams. Then again this is not an ordinary dog that takes a liking to her.

I loved the story and the way it flowed and the characters are amazing, I can’t wait to see how Ione is going to take the rest of the horseman into their journey. I highly recommend this to any paranormal romance reader.

Note you may think the sexual rating is high, but wait until you get to almost the end of the book.

 MY REVIEW

Overall, I enjoyed this book and the mystery surrounding Talmor Manor.   In the beginning you are really drawn into the story with Jake’s repeated visits to the Manor in his dreams.  In these visits things keep changing, and he meets new characters.  You really get into the story, and want to know what happens next.   There is quite a bit of humor throughout the book, and Jake loves to use sarcasm.  I definitely found myself laughing out loud while reading.

Once Nate enters the real world things seem to slow down.  There are numerous time jumps where nothing happens for a few weeks.  Discussions on the Manor pretty much cease, and Jake and Nate act like a couple of roommates getting to know one another.  Jake is attracted to Nate, but doesn’t pursue his attraction at first because Nate believes himself straight.  Jake does tend to lecture and you feel like he is a know-it-all, which can annoy a person.

As for the romance between Jake and Nate, it left me somewhat confused.  When Nate enters the modern day he has the mindset of someone from early 1900 England.  He doesn’t know about homosexuality or that people are openly gay.  While he’s never had sex with a woman, he’s never considered sex with a man.  Yet in the span of less than 2 months he not only considers sex with a man, but actually has sex and falls in love with Jake.  It’s a little hard for the reader not to feel like he’s experimenting or curious since he lives with an openly gay man.  Plus, with the way the story ends the reader is still left uncertain of exactly what Nate believes.

The ending of the story had a bit of action.  And the story as a whole kept the reader wondering exactly what was going on and how things would be resolved.  The story wraps things up almost nicely, with the reader feeling a few things were unresolved.

Gena Showalter delivers a deep depth into emotions with The Darkest Secret; LOTU fans will not be disappointed. You may even find yourself hanging onto your book so tight that you’ll leave prints. I fell hard for both Amun and Haidee. Both enemy’s and yet they need each other in a way that is so deep that will leave your mouth hanging open saying I can’t believe Gena pulled this off and yet she didn’t drag the story out or leave you feeling that they were trusted together to fast and hard. Totally brilliant! You get tons of action and secrets galore to unravel.

I enjoyed the way Gena wrote the romance between these two enemies. When Hadiee is brought in by Strider she never dream she would find an attraction among the enemy, nor did Amun. These two need each other in a way that they cant deny. In order to save each other both must pay a price, one pays a higher price by giving their life.

I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to find out who or what Haidee really was and when I found out, I was left with my mouth hung open saying WOW! Leave it to Gena to think about writing it this way.

As always you get to know the other Lords more. One of the Lords gets his butt kicked by Amun, that right someone should have kept his thoughts or secret to himself LOL.

The only downside I found and it may leave some of you ticked is the sexual tension is very high between these two, but you won’t get to the actual sex for a long, long while, so just hang on. Oh ya, you may get mad almost the end…. Yep, it left me gasping and saying NO! Please don’t leave it this way..  Oh ya, you have to read it to find out what all happeneds.

Review The Falcon Prince by Karen Kelley

Title: The Falcon Prince (Princes of Symtaria #2)
Author: Karen Kelley
Source:I purchased
Genre: Paranormal romance- Shape-Shifters

Rhianna Lancaster has always been 'different' - and not in that quirky, small-town Texas way. Nope, Ria's unique qualities are downright bizarre, which is why she tries to keep them to herself, thank you very much. So maybe she should be glad when, out for a run, she encounters a guy even weirder than she is - not to mention naked. What Ria learns from this 'Prince Kristor' person is that he's an alien sent to help her get in touch with her powers and rescue her from a mortally unfulfilling life here on earth. Good to know. Also good to know the local law enforcement, whom Ria calls after macing Good Prince Naked and running for her life. Problem is, she can't stop.

The Falcon Prince is the second book in Princes of Symtaria series. I found this book to be an enjoyable fun read. This story takes you a little deeper in the Symtaria world than the first book.  I found this one lacking in a few areas. I just never felt the passion between the hero and heroine. It was always them saying; the hero I am  taking you home, then the heroine no I am not going. This arguing goes on throughout the book, it drove me crazy at times. Then there is the abrupt ending where the heroine is all of a sudden ready to go. What? UGH!  I wanted more.

Now, let’s get to the basics. The sex is really hot and Rinanna and Kristor are very enjoyable to read, even without the passion. I also liked Rinanna friend Carly, she added a lot to the storyline.

Ria owns and works at a dog groomer, with lots of clients. Everyone in town thinks she is crazy because she has a voice in her head that she is always talking to out load. When she comes across a naked man in the woods that tells her he is from another planet, everyone wants her to go to the doctors in Dallas so she could get help (she should have keep her mouth shut lol). Then she finds out this stranger has the same voice in his head and that Ria needs to let out her hawk animal side or Shintara will die, the thing is, can she do this with her scared of heights?
