Best wishes to my now 18 year old daughter and high school graduate

Wow! I can’t believe how time flies. It seems like yesterday when my daughter and I started a homeschool journey, now after 12 years it has come to end, a sad end for me I am sure not her. Yep, my now today's18 year old is also a high school graduate.

Jessica has always been one that is very careful. She has never liked riding roller-coaster or sliding down the slide, but she does love to read, paint and play video games. Yep, we still have our favorite games that we still play today. I have seen cry her eyes out when she would see an abused animal on the internet and I have seen her try to somehow help in making it better. She has brought into the home things like eating lower fat foods, recycling and not buying any animal tested products. Believe me don’t throw a plastic bottle in the trash here without being yelled at LOL.  She may not ride a roller coaster, but she will fight for the rights for those who can’t.

I have been one of the lucky moms that have been able to watch her daughter grow up to be the woman she is today. I have gotten to see her face light up when something clicked in her head that she couldn’t grasp and I have been able to watch her get mad when she could never get something right. I have seen her whip out math that I couldn’t grasp. Yes, I have been very fortunate to have a daughter such as mine that has helped me along with helping herself into life.

Jessica, these memories will always be planted in my mind and I will always cherish our time together. I wish you the very best in whatever life throws at you.

Guardian 2632/Blurb:

Zane Grayson, the most accomplished executive director Guardian TMF has ever seen, is breaking the law…his law against time surfing. Zane has the supreme power, in 2632, to decide which paradoxes in time need altered, or deleted, but he’s frustrated. Something, or someone, is missing from his life.

Time surfing in illegal time zones is the rush Zane can’t live without. As addictive as the Martian dust called kilred, time surfing becomes Zane’s obsession. And knowing full well if caught by the Elite Guardians, he’ll suffer an unwelcome death by Time Mercs, Zane still dives deep into trouble. Soon, he discovers a mission in 2035 left him trapped in a timehole. This timehole places him in Pittsburgh, PA in 1998, instead of home. In Pittsburgh, Zane strolls into a coffee shop to see the bewitching Julia Emerson. From that point on, his life spirals out of control as he fights to protect what he loves most.

It’s possible Zane’s future is no longer in 2632...but actually in 1998. Slip through time with Zane Grayson as Guardian 2632 reveals what he will sacrifice to save a life.

Excerpt
Nurse Carrington interrupted Zane’s conversation with Dr. Salvatore. “Doctor, excuse me, I wanted you to say goodbye to your miracle.” Smiling with immense pride that she knew the famous Doctor Zane Grayson, Nurse Carrington placed her hands on Julia’s shoulders.
Zane turned around not thinking at all who might be before him, after-all, he had saved quite a few people since his arrival in Pittsburgh.
“Zane?” screamed Julia more shocked than words could express. Tears flooded her eyes as she held her chest. “What are you doing here?”
“Oh…no, Julia? Not now, not today.” Zane’s blood just about crystallized.
You saved me? You’ve been here and never came to me? How could you? I-I thought you couldn’t come back. Zane, I don’t—”
“Nurse, I’ll take it from here.” Totally freaked out, Zane wheeled Julia into his office, and then he shut the door so hard, that a few of the paintings in the hallway became askew.
Nurse Carrington was left perplexed, naturally.
Julia’s tears cut through Zane’s emotions like a knife as she sobbed, seemingly inconsolable.
Zane wanted to defend himself wisely, yet he, at best, fumbled with his words.  “Explain, explain this? Oh…wow, uh, please just listen to me.” His heart throbbed because if he blew it now, she would never trust him again.
Seeing the betrayal Julia felt in her eyes, he cringed thinking she was disappointed in him. Running his hands through his hair and then motioning for Julia to give him another minute or so, he thought, Oh, damn…what do I say? I have to think…think. He paced around his office praying for a bit of mercy from both God and Julia. “Okay, I know what you’re thinking—”
“Really? Because I’m going to have to say...no, you don’t. You have no idea what I’m thinking or feeling. How could you do this to me?”
“Um, well, it was easier to do than I thought it would be. No, that’s not what I mean. I mean, I did this, that’s true, but now it seems I’ve been caught off-guard. Julia, please…just give me five minutes.” Zane gathered his thoughts staring directly into Julia’s eyes. Then he knelt down and held onto her hands.
“Easier than you thought? Easy to hurt me like this?” Julia swallowed hard as she pulled her hands away from his.
“Okay, that all came out wrong. Five minutes?” asked Zane.
“Fine, explain...and it had better be good.”
Knowing he had one chance of pulling this explanation of a lifetime off, Zane breathed in deeply and then said, “Okay, I could lie and make up something really believable, but I’m not going to. I’m not even going to try to lie. You will most likely not believe me and yet, I’m going to be brutally honest. My life is too complicated to try and start out our future with lies.”
“A future? You’ve got to be kidding after what you’ve done.” Rolling her eyes, Julia squirmed in the wheelchair saying, “Go ahead. Talk your way out of this. I can’t wait to hear what you come up with.”
He slid a chair close to Julia and sat down. “Oh, so…where do I start? How do I explain this to make sense? Okay, I really am a doctor, and I do work for the government, but it is not what you think, or maybe not when you think. It’s nothing you could imagine.”
“You’re wasting my time,” said Julia, “and this is just ridiculous.”
“Um, no, I’m taking my five minutes. I work for the government, the world government, in Terents, Canada. I’m the, well…used to be the executive director of Guardian TMF. It’s a time monitoring facility. Julia, I’m from the year 2632.”

My Review:

A Fallen Archangel and shapeshifting vampires star in, and even Lucifer makes an appearance in, this second of the Danann Frost paranormal romance series.

Danann and Seth are back as the hero and heroine to continue their story from book one. Life on the earthly plane is proving to be a bit much for, and very hard on, the Fallen Archangel. In true Paranormal Romance fashion, every time things seem to be going well for Danann and Seth's relationship, something bad happens. Danann copes the only way she can - she shuts down emotionally and becomes an automaton. Seth does basically the same thing and takes being a controlling alpha male to an all new high (or would that be low?).

But they persevere and Danann very wisely takes the attitude of "...we can’t change what has gone before but we can make the present and the future all that we want it to be."

On the sexy scale, I rate this as a 3 out of 4. While reading this, and I read it immediately after reading the first book in the series, I laughed and I cried, which means that the characters and story came alive for me.

There is no cliffhanger at the end of this book like there was for book one. I know many don't like continuing sagas but read the first two books in this series in order and you'll be glad you did. Fans of the paranormal romance, urban fantasy, paranormal fallen angel and vampire genres should enjoy not only this book but the first one as well.

Up next from the author is the story of one of Danann's earlier lovers - Morgan Hathaway - and there is a sneak preview of it at the end this story. It will be interesting to see if Danann and Seth make an appearance in it.

Discussion of the month June 2011 Romance novels can be as addictive as pornography - ksl.com

Please read this first
Romance novels can be as addictive as pornography - ksl.com

I saw this on twitter when a friend posted it a few days ago and I thought it would make a good topic. When I read this post I was left saying where in the world did they study this at?  I have been reading romance and erotic romance books for over 4 years now and most of you how may books I can put down in a year. Last year it was almost 300 and let me tell you I never feel this way and I know I read the right stuff, so I guess my brain or body doesn't function right LOL. But I don't look for the sex in the books I look for a good connection and good story line the sex is just an added bonus LOL

I did notice when Twilight came out and was such a big hit. I read on cafemom where women would post that they left their husband because he was no Edward I was like omg, please. I would say that no husband is or at least not mines, but I still wouldn't trade or leave him because he doesn't live up to the romance book standards, I don't read book for that reason. But the thing is this post is taking about porn and there no porn in the Twilight saga. I don’t read where women read a regular romance book leave their husband because he wasn't up to the romance standards.

Because romance novels provide a perfect escape during tough times.
Now, this statement is what is most interesting just because the sales are increasing it means women are getting off on romance books. I don't think so. It means time are bad and we need an escape what better cheap way then reading a book and forgetting our troubles, but they want to pin it on porn WHATEVER! I think they need to study why we are having these bad times and finding ways to make jobs instead of worrying on what women are reading and if they are getting off on it. I never did see where it say in the post on how many women left their husbands because of this or did I miss it?

So what's your take on Romance novels can be as addictive as pornography's post?

I for one will not stop reading so called porn for women as they call it and I of I have anything to do with it I will help the sales go higher next year LOL.

Giveaway Stacey Kennedy's A Warrior's Witch

Stacey Kennedy is an avid lover of the paranormal romance, urban fantasy and erotic romance genres. If she isn’t plugging away at her next novel, tending to her two little ones, she’s got her nose deep in a good book. She lives in Ontario, Canada with her husband. Be sure to drop her a line at www.staceykennedy.com, she loves to hear from her readers.

Decades old guilt collide with a murder, igniting a battle in a warrior’s soul to choose between love and duty…
Murder has brought Talon, Master of Guardians, as well as Zia, his witch and Master of Witches, to Chicago. The manner of death appears to be a suicide, but Talon is far from ready to close the case. To avenge the Guardian linked to his past, he agrees to take on the assignment, and find her killer.
As they dive deeper into the investigation, they find themselves entering a world where BDSM is the norm. A lifestyle that Zia is uncomfortable with and, rattled by this new development, she is more than ready to return to the Otherworld. But their investigation quickly takes an unexpected twist when they discover that they’re not only hunting a killer but also someone who is controlling supernaturals in Chicago.
Their mission not only brings danger, but also forces Talon to deal with decades old guilt that corrodes his soul. Every event that unfolds only deepens his fight and pushes him to face an ultimate choice—what is more important—his duty to the Otherworld or the witch he holds closest to his heart?

Excerpt:

Duty. Honor. Morals.

All these things abandoned Talon’s mind as he stood over the dead body on the ground. The woman’s light brown hair draped over her face, but not enough to conceal her identity. She was no stranger to him. Her face held a bluish tinge, the rosy color he remembered she once had on her cheeks now gone. Whitlyn, his son’s mother.
Talon bent down and brushed the hair away from the Guardian’s face and his heart clenched. An arrangement between him and Whitlyn had been forged years ago, and he never expected when he saw her again it would be to find her dead. At the time she lived in the Otherworld, she’d proven herself to be one of the greatest female warriors. But the battles wore on Whitlyn. She wanted a life without death and violence. Knowing the stakes it cost the Otherworld to have her gone, she offered a solution, presented herself to bear Talon’s child.
Now, the woman who gave him such a gift had lost her life.
“Oh, Talon.”  Zia’s voice came compassionate above him. She rested her hand on his shoulder in a loving embrace. “I’m sorry.”
Talon couldn’t find the strength to look at his witch. Yes, she belonged to him now and hadn’t condemned his heart with guilt when he made the agreement with Whitlyn, yet he drowned in sorrow over the reality. He hadn’t once regretted his choice. Not only had Kyden proved to be an impeccable Guardian, but a wonderful son. However, seeing Whitlyn in this condition tore at his heart.
“It’s not me to be sorry for.” He’d always suspected Whitlyn’s actions came from the duty she felt she owed to the Otherworld, but he also believed the solution a viable one. It gave back to their forces, while it allowed Whitlyn to live in peace in the Earthworld among the humans and leave her position as part of the Council’s guard. Talon never understood her desires. His duty as Master of Guardians, part of the Council, was now and would always be to the Otherworld. To protect the Earthworld from supernatural beings who wished to cause them harm. His thoughts weren’t of humans at the moment, didn’t stray on his responsibilities as a leader to the Otherworld. His only concern remained on Whitlyn.
Sighing, he glanced at Zade, the Master of Vampires, who stood off to the side of the modest home located in the Near South Side of Chicago. “What happened to her?”
Zade shook his head, sending his coal hair to drape across his forehead, his dark eyes perplexed. “Right now, I know about as much as you do. I sent Finn to this assignment after the Chicago PD contacted us.” Supes were well established in the Earthworld law enforcement for just this reason. It gave them an in on supernatural murders. “When Finn discovered it wasn’t a mortal who died, but a Guardian, he came back to inform us. He found me instead. Thinking I could handle the matter myself, I came here and recognized her immediately.” He glanced down to Whitlyn. Sadness resided on his expression. “You must understand my reasons for coming to find you.” His gaze came back up to meet Talon’s. “Do you want me to go and get Kyden?”
Talon pondered. Zia and Talon had been resting when Zade had come to their residence. Being odd that Zade asked them to assist on an assignment instead of letting one of the guard deal with the matter as they usually did, Talon knew something had gone terribly wrong. It wasn’t often the Masters needed to intervene. Their guard held strong, protected the Earthworld on most cases without their assistance in person.
It was true his son Kyden was part of their guard—both him and his mate, Nexi, were elite warriors within the Otherworld, but Talon hesitated involving him in this. The secret of his birth hadn’t been kept a secret from Kyden, but he never discussed it with anyone. Talon doubted even Nexi knew of his mother. He always equated it to the fact that she didn’t exist in Kyden’s eyes—to disown one’s duty to the Otherworld was the gravest of all betrayals. Talon never harbored ill feelings toward Whitlyn for her choices. The battles could be trying at times, and she sought refuge from all the death—he’d never judge her for those wishes.
Talon’s pause was more centered on the uncertainty about how Kyden would respond to the sight of his dead mother. So many unresolved emotions surrounded Whitlyn. Too many in Talon’s own soul to even make sense of now. Determined he only had one choice, he shook his head. “No, leave him out of it.”
“Talon,” Zia exclaimed.
Her curt tone forced his gaze to hers and he encountered an unhappy expression on his witch’s face. Even with her grimace, though, she still exuded beauty. Long strawberry blonde hair flowed around her flawless skin and her stunning blue eyes that he’d never grow tired of admiring. Yet, he had a point to make and he would make it clear. “All Kyden knows of his mother is that she wanted a life away from danger and those are the reasons she gave birth to him and left, never to return. Kyden and Nexi were bonded mere weeks ago. I won’t ruin their joy with this news. Besides, they’re away on their travels enjoying some peace they both deserve.”
Exactly why Whitlyn wanted out. Danger never stopped, and his son had had his share of it lately. Nexi, being a mixed being of Guardian, Witch, and Fae—her magic had blossomed, making her stronger than any supernatural being known in the Otherworld. With those gifts came a world of trying times. His son choosing her as his love brought evil to take center stage in their lives. Luckily, his son lived through the dangerous events, as did Nexi. Peace wasn’t given to them; they earned it, and Talon didn’t want to bring strain to their lives. He didn’t have the heart to darken his son’s happy moment. “We’ll handle the assignment, find out what happened to Whitlyn, and I’ll tell him when they return.” After Talon sorted out how he felt on the matter and had all the answers to explain it all to his son.
“You will tell him though, yes?” Zia probed.
“I will, but I don’t want him to see her like this.” Talon’s heart ached, for Whitlyn and Kyden. He sympathized with why Whitlyn had left the Otherworld. He’d seen it before in Guardians and supernaturals who chose to work for the Council. The hard times wore on them. Yet, he’d never felt as she did. He belonged in his role.
Even though he had no relationship with Whitlyn and there had never been love between them when they spent a month together producing Kyden, he respected her. The time they’d shared was a wonderful memory. He hated to see her life stolen from her. It left an empty gap in his heart and he wondered how in the world he would tell Kyden his mother had died.
“The vamp who met Finn here had no knowledge of what had taken place,” Zade said, “and if he would have told us sooner that it was Whitlyn who lost her life, I would have acted faster.”
Time was always a key factor. The longer it took them to locate the killer, the more distance he or she could put between them. But Talon didn’t worry about that so much. His only focus right now centered on what took place here. “Zia, do your magic and show us what happened here.”
“Of course.” Zia raised her hands, and the wind picked up in the room as her magic called to replay the moment Whitlyn’s life ended. Her talents, gifted from being a Spirit Witch and Master of Witches, gave her enough power in that beautiful body of hers to astound Talon more than once.
Within only moments of the first call on her magic, the scene shimmered into view. Talon placed his hands firmly on the floor to steady himself. Whitlyn stood before him, pale; her eyes shone with terror as her body trembled in fear. However, nothing stood there to give reason for her fright; no one around her caused her panic. Talon scanned the simple living room a few times over, yet still nothing. No murderer.
A gasp brought Talon’s focus back to Whitlyn. She now rested on her knees close to him. Her breath strained as her chest rose and fell in heavy movements. Confusion stole his thoughts. “Am I missing something?” His attention remained on the dying Whitlyn.
“No. Why is she dying?” Zia gasped.
Whitlyn fell down on her side, her breathing rapid and forced. As much as Talon wished he could intervene, he held no power to do so. The vision was a moment from the past. Whitlyn had already died.
Within a few short minutes, the vision settled on the same one Talon came upon when he entered the small, humble home. Whitlyn lying dead. He tried to make sense out of what he saw, but couldn’t. Nothing appeared to have killed her. She hadn’t appeared to be stabbed nor had any visible wounds, although he suspected someone had caused her death. Not an empty room. Feeling beside himself, he glanced at Zia. “Did you make sense of any of that?”
“Not at all.” Zia shook her head, her eyes wide, baffled. “Do you think she did this to herself?”
The thought, too horrible to even imagine, was one Talon didn’t think possible. Whitlyn had always been a strong warrior. Her actions proved she wasn’t selfish. When she left the Otherworld, she could have just walked out, but she provided her body, her impeccable genes from a long line of warriors, to give back to her world. Whitlyn had never been a woman who acted with such selfishness. “I cannot fathom it. She doesn’t seem the type.”
“But you haven’t seen her in well over twenty-nine years,” Zade countered.
How time flew. It felt like only yesterday when Whitlyn gave birth to Kyden, kissed him goodbye, and left. In just a year, he’d reach his immortality and no longer age. It might have made Talon sentimental if the current situation didn’t take precedence. “That’s true. It has been many years since I’ve seen her last. It’s quite possible she could have become another woman.” Talon hummed. “Still, to take her own life? Why would Whitlyn choose such a fate for herself?” He placed his hand on Whitlyn’s forehead and her cold skin chilled his palm. His heart bled for her. “If you have done this to yourself, I’m sorry you didn’t trust in us to come home and get you the help you needed. If someone has hurt you, it’s my promise to you that I’ll find out who and deliver their punishment on your behalf.”
Silence filled the room and Talon appreciated it. His mind ran rapid with thoughts of whats and whys. Finally, after a long moment, Zade cleared his throat, bringing Talon’s attention to him. “I note a strange scent around her, but I cannot place it.”
As Guardian, Talon didn’t have the enhanced scent capabilities Zade possessed as a vampire; only impeccable warrior skills had been granted to him. He couldn’t smell anything unusual here. Inhaling deeply for good measure, he sighed, unable to catch a trace of it. “I’d suspect whatever you are scenting is what caused her death.”
“A very strange occurrence,” Zia offered.
Talon agreed. Clearly whatever Whitlyn had either taken—or been given—claimed her life. However, the question remained, what was it? Never in all his years had he ever seen a death in this manner. The fact this was so personal made urgency flare to life, but brought something else with it too.
After a little squeeze of his hand on Whitlyn’s frigid flesh, he closed his eyes and felt an entire world of guilt rest upon his shoulders. He’d find out what happened because he owed Whitlyn that and so much more. She’d given his life meaning in giving him a son. Gave him something he never thought he’d have as a Master. An oath he’d taken long ago to always put the Otherworld first. A personal life wasn’t in the hopes and dreams of a Master. Their role, their nightly-life centered on keeping the Earthworld protected.
Zia was his heart, no doubt about it. What they were now, merely lovers, is what they’d always be. Being bound as his son was to Nexi would never been in his future with Zia. He’d long ago accepted that fate. And now, to the mother of his son, he made a silent promise of justice for all she’d given him.
Talon whispered his final goodbyes to Whitlyn, stood, and looked at Zia. “Let’s take her to someone who might be able to identify this unknown killer.”  He reached down and gathered the lifeless Whitlyn in his arms. Talon might have only given her a passing thought over the years, but he mourned her death now.

Sizzling HOT!

Absolutely fantastic and enjoyable read. This hot story is full of sexy and endowed demons with lots of stamina that is guarantee to have you licking your lips and drooling heavily. All the characters were totally addicting with their humorous personalities and bad ass abilities and attitudes. The interaction between them had me cracking out loud in laughter. The plot and demon world was well creative and left me wanting to know more about these crazy demons in their quest for power, revenge, and their sexual lusty appetites. I am totally hooked and can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Review Wilder's Mate by Moira Rogers

Title: Wilder's Mate (Bloodhounds #1)
Author: Moira Rogers
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Format: eNovella, 100 pgs
Release Date: March 8, 2011

Wilder's Mate Book Cover

Wilder Harding is a bloodhound, created by the Guild to hunt down and kill vampires on America’s frontier. His enhanced abilities come with a high price: on the full moon, he becomes capable of savagery beyond telling, while the new moon brings a sexual hunger that borders on madness.

Rescuing a weapons inventor from undead kidnappers is just another assignment, though one with an added complication—keeping his hands off the man’s pretty young apprentice, who insists on tagging along.

At odds with polite society, Satira’s only constant has been the aging weapons inventor who treats her like a daughter. She isn’t going to trust Wilder with Nathaniel’s life, not when the Guild might decide the old man isn’t worth saving. Besides, if there’s one thing she’s learned, it’s that brains are more important than brawn.

As the search stretches far longer than Wilder planned, he finds himself fighting against time. If Satira is still at his side when the new moon comes, nothing will stop him from claiming her. Worse, she seems all too willing. If their passion unlocks the beast inside, no one will be safe. Not even the man they’re fighting to save.

Warning: This book contains a crude, gun-slinging, vampire-hunting hero who howls at the full moon and a smart, stubborn heroine who invents mad-scientist weapons. Also included: wild frontier adventures, brothels, danger, betrayal and a good dose of wicked loving in an alternate Wild West.

My Review:

This is the first in Rogers' Bloodhounds series (which in compliance with FTC guidelines, I need to disclose that I received this eNovella as a free gift from Moira Rogers).

Vampires, bloodhounds, ghouls, a kidnapped mentor, a sexy need and a reluctant romance set in the wild plains of the Deadlands where "vampires steal through the night", this book combines paranormal romance and a little steampunk. Sorta like the original Wild, Wild West TV show staring Robert Conrad & Gunsmoke meet the 1999 Will Smith movie version.

Satira, the heroine, is a no nonsense, tomboy complete with weapons who dresses in men's clothing and is Nathaniel’s apprentice. Spine of steel and fearless when it counts, willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. Innocent and naive in many ways but at the same time worldly in others. She reminds me of Rose Hathaway (Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead) without the training. Nathaniel, trusted friend and Guild inventor, "who’d all but raised her, she would risk her very life [for]" is missing, presumed kidnapped by vampires, and she is hell bent on rescuing him.

Wilder, the hero, is a bloodhound who fights vampires, whose "mission from the Guild [has] to be to keep their new technology from falling into vampire hands". He becomes full of "sexual hunger [and] feral need" during full and new moons.

This story is full of delightfully snarky dialogue as well as being nice and hot - seriously hot, "hot and bothered" hot. It is a 3.5 on a sexy scale of 1-4.

Rogers' bloodhounds are a very inventive creation. This story whet my appetite for more - to elaborate on the bloodhounds, the guild and the world the story takes place in (which appears to be a post apocalyptic US) for which there isn't enough room for in a 100 page eNovella.

I think that fans of the paranormal romance, steampunk and urban fantasy genres will enjoy this and look forward, as I do, to the sequel, Hunter's Prey - the eBook is scheduled for release in March 2012. There are plans to combine books one and two as a print option.

This eNovella includes excerpt from Undertow (Building Sanctuary, Book 2)

My Review:

This is the first in the Danann Frost paranormal romance series. Valiukas has created a world within our world which includes shapeshifting vampires, living vampires, angels and archangels (who are both Seraphim), innocent all consuming love and devastating betrayal.

The female lead, a lovely young naive angel, mistaken for a Goddess swan lady, is discovered by Seth and named Danann. She later gives herself the last name of Frost.

Seth, the male lead, is a very rare born vampire who even though he is 839 years old is still treated as a child by his parents who are only about 200 years older than himself. Even though he is what the Seraphim call a Dark One, Danann can see his soul is full of light except for a very small dark spot.

Their forbidden relationship starts out in such a sweet funny manner. Danann is all "child-like in her innocence" while he is very experienced and perplexed at how to handle her and her continuous questions.

The first 17 chapters read like a fairy tale being told to the reader. In narrative form, we are told the story of Danann and Seth's meeting in Ireland and their young relationship. It is a sweet fairy tale that goes horribly wrong - a cautionary tale to remind us of what happens when we assume. Told this way, I found it hard to continue to read, unable to relate to the characters, but was rewarded when making myself read past page 80.

Chapter 18 skips forward 200 years to present day Australia and is now told in Danann's first person point of view and the story turns into a very good paranormal romance and the characters come alive for the reader. Danann's punishments for Falling are inventive and imaginative and the story has several twists before ending in a kind of a cliffhanger. There isn't a "happily ever after" yet at this point but the potential is there in the sequel, Danann Frost Embraces The Darkness, due out June 12, 2011.

On the sexy scale of 1-4, I rate this as a 3. I would have given this book a 5 star content rating if not for the first 17 chapters being told the way they were - as a sweet tale but in a dry manner like something from Grimm's Fairy Tales or Aesop's Fables. But I am very glad I continued because I would have missed out on a very compelling read. I think fans of the paranormal romance, paranormal angel and vampire genres will enjoy this book.

My Review:

A nice little sexy story you can read quickly with a really cute and surprising ending.

It is written in first person from Tucker's point of view. Even before he meets Bailey, he's hard at first sight of her. She's such a mystery and full of contradictions.

I'd rate this on the sexy scale of 1-4 as a 2.5. Tucker gets himself a little sumthin' sumthin' in the men's room of the public library. And there is a bedroom scene that is relatively tame (mechanics wise) but it seems a lot hotter, I guess because it is told from Tucker's point of view instead of as a narrative.

Definitely worth the time to check this out, at only 70 pages you can easily finish it in one sitting. The ending will leave you smiling. I look forward to reading more paranormal romance from Weston.

Hybrid Misfit is another smart and feisty female lead read from Eve. I very much enjoyed reading this book, but how could I resist a strong heroine misfit pairing up with a fireball throwing genie and a oh darn, I can’t share with you what Simon is. Nope you’ll have to read to find out. I will tell you he can freeze things and he is freaking huge all the way around (get it LOL!!). This is an m/f/m read with some anal play and intercourse, but I will say, you get more storyline with this erotic novella read then most and it gets emotional at the end. I recommend this to anyone that likes their female leads smart and kick butt, but also knows when to let a man or in this case men take care of her needs well, this is just for you and oh my, these two hero’s knows just how to do that. Now, I need to convince Eve to write books for Megan’s misfit friends.

Teaser
Hunger gnawed at me sudden like, and my mouth watered, but not for the bacon I smelt drifting through the open bedroom door. Looking him up and down, my eyes lingered on the distinct bulge in his pants. I licked my lips as I realized I could go for some sausage. Injuries always wakened my hungers. Smiling at him, I turned on the juice to prep him for my idea of a morning pick me upper.
“Bad succubus,” he chided. “Is that any way to thank your host?”
My jaw dropped as he outed me. Before I could ask him how he knew—and resisted me!—he walked away….
