Each interview has a giveaway(s) make sure the giveaway is open to you and if so add a comment or question along with your email. I will close all giveaways at the end of the week and add the winners to the winners post on that Tuesday. Odds are if you won you’ll be hearing from me.

I hope you enjoy each interview and please try to make it here each day to find out whom or what’s next. If this goes as planned I will be hosting this next year.

Today I’m bringing Makhi in for a Character Interview. He can be found in my Incubus Enforcer Series Book One, now available at www.liquidsilverbooks.com

Excerpt Link

Let’s Get Started!

So Makhi what makes you special?

“Special? I’m just a Incubus doing his part in making sure the levels coexist without too much strife. We can’t ruin all the fun down here now can we?” The knowing smirk he gives me reminds me of another demon I once interviewed. I can’t help but   wonder if they’re all cocky and self-assured, if so it’s no surprise why they’re found irresistible.

What differentiates you from other demon species down there?
“I forget you earthlings label everything. There are different species of demons. I am at the top of the food chain. I command legions when I’m not—doing other things.” A dark grin spreads across his face.

Do you have special abilities?
“You do realize I’m a sex demon right? Dream surfing is illegal or there’d be more broken hearted females out there. Excuse me a second.” I am surprised, not only is tall, dark as sin sexy African American piece of lean mean fighting machine holds the promise of sexual pleasure in his chocolate brown orbs.  Delightfully he’s also very polite.

“I’m back. The pussycat is bitching about my comment. Seems he doesn’t like upsetting our kitten.”

“Do you want to rescind that comment?” I ask him.

“Not in the least, I am what I am.”

Tell us about your most current adventure.
A sensual smile spreads across his face. I half think he’s trying to seduce me and it’s working. “Hmmm. Well I can’t go into deep detail but… Protecting Kamaria has been anything but boring. Showing her the world denied her has led us on a hell of a trip. Right now I’m still learning how to share. We Inc’s don’t like sharing what’s ours. However the pussy has equal rights to her.” I blink at his referral to a pussy.

“Why do you call him that? Does he have a name?”

“Just because I have to share doesn’t mean I like it, and the name drives him crazy. His name is Caedon and he’s a shifter of sorts, an old one, I believe you’d call him a Saber tooth Tiger in his time.

Tell us a little bit about your author. Where can we find more of her works? And If you could offer your author advice, what would it be?

I believe Orobus summed her persona up nicely. She’s still a nosy brat who interferes and tries to steer everything in her direction. Lucky for us her man keeps her occupied off hours giving us peace to do as we wish in her mind. She’s too damn smart for her own good.” Makhi leans back in his chair. “Don’t let her sweet face and good looks fool you. She manipulates many a demon, and females toward her ways. Gives them ideas, ones that could land them in trouble with their mates. She’s lucky we’re all on to her and protect our women. Plus she has a thing for our resident doc Lucien. He keeps her from trouble while she sleeps. Other than that, she’s like every other female in need of a strong man with a short leash. Some time in the dungeons would do her good. Give her some perspective.”

Are you happy with the way people perceive you?
“Sweetheart, Demons don’t care how they’re perceived. We’re not the weaker link on the chain of living. Our life isn’t all peaches and cream, although licking such a feast from a woman’s flesh would easily be a good way to die.”

“I thought you were a fighter.” His sexual declaration made the heat spike up in the room. Makhi nudged his knee against mine and I felt current zap me. “No funny stuff mister. I’m taken.”

“I’m an Enforcer not fighter, though for the right reason I’ll decimate a foe. I’d do anything for Kama. I know you’re taken, thank God. Now you can quit badgering all of us single males in your head.

Tell us a little bit about your world.
“We live on the third level of Hell. There are many levels. Each level has sub-levels of sorts. Hell you know, is like Heaven with endless capacity to fill. We have homes and offices, shops, bars, much like Earth. You can’t just travel from level to level unless you have clearance. I guess you could call me and my team Demonic Military. Unlike the legions that go out into the mortal world to recruit, we work specifically here. How my world ended up in Azazel’s control is another story and you’ll have to read to find that intel out. Azazel, for his looks, is anything but what you’d assume.

What kind of music do you listen to?
“Sensual R and B. Old school music. We make love not war.” Makhi and his winks and cliché comments are humorous and sincere.

“You could easily be the boy next door.”

“In sheep’s clothing,” he says and chuckles. It brings a stained flush to my cheeks. I have a hard time formulating the next sentence to inquire on.

Is expressing love difficult for you? Why? “
“Now you’re getting into private thoughts.” He frowns and a darkness settles across the angles of his face. “Love, I used to think made people, demons weak. I express anger and disinterest well. Caring? Is more for the pussy cat. But our kitten sometimes needs sweet words and cuddling.” He spit the last word out like it was a striking viper.
“You don’t like love?”
“Women ask too many questions. Next?” He slammed a stoic mask on his face. I can’t help but rib him some more. “Love is so sweet. You know you love your mate.”
“Of course I love her.” He looked at me as if I were daft for assuming he didn’t.” Maybe I’ll let the love question slide, although it’s fun to see Makhi squirm some under the light of interrogation.

Share a little bit of the ‘real’ you with our readers. Any Dark secrets?
“The real me?  I keep it true, a hundred percent. Dark secrets?” He grins again and I can breathe. “That’s for me to know and for your readers to find out.”

What is your most favorite thing to do?
“Fucking. I could skim off others actions and emotions but the act itself is my favorite pastime.”

Describe your abilities and how exactly did you get them?
“I was trained. There’s nothing special in that way about me.”

Is your gut always right?
“Like any other trained soldier, following the gut can be the difference between a painful death and equally painful rebirth in purgatory.”

Does your gut get you in trouble?
“At times. The leader is always held accountable for his underlings.”

Do you sing in the shower?
“Doesn’t everyone?”

Have you ever lost control? And what was the outcome?
“Yes, and beautiful. When I do no one want’s to be around.”

How many sex partners have you had? How many at one time?
“Enough. I do like my cock attached to my body. Going into a history of my sex life will piss off my mate. Plus, I don’t relish the pussy cat getting my time.”

Do you think you are a superior being?
“Superior no, you earthlings have a lot going for you when you don’t fuck it up. I am inferior to your hope and willpower. Other than that, we are more brutal so in that aspect we might have a slight edge over you.”

“That’s not the answer I was expecting.”

“Keeping you off balance has become a game all of us in your head like to engage in. We take bets even and your facial expressions to our thoughts are entertaining.”

What are your opinions your mate’s parents?
“We’re still investigating them. So I withhold my judgment, although sending an assassin out has crossed my mind more than once.
“That’s kind of harsh.”
“Demons by nature aren’t kind.”

How old are you?
“Centuries old.”

Well Makhi, thank you for your time. Are there any last words you’d like to share?

“Makhi Book One Incubus Enforcers is available is at www.liquidsilverbooks.com. Come for a play date in my world. You won’t regret it, we have incomparable hospitality.” Makhi winked, leaned down and kissed my cheek and was gone before I could blink. He’s just trying to get extra points for the next installment.

Review A Tale of Two Goblins by H.P. Mallory

Title: A Tale of Two Goblins (Dulcie O'Neil #2)
Author: H.P. Mallory
Source: Requested Review
Genre: Paranormal Fantasy Romance
Format: eBook, 143 pgs
Release Date: March 21, 2011
A Tale of Two Goblins Book Cover

A Dreamstalker— a creature that stalks and kills its victims in sleep.
A fairy in law enforcement determined to stop him.
A potions smuggler who possesses something she wants.
A vampire with his own agenda.
And a partner who couldn’t possibly be sexier or more frustrating.

Dulcie O’Neil is a fairy working in law enforcement for the Netherworld. When Knight Vander approaches her with a case regarding comatose victims, she agrees to help him, imagining the most difficult part will be combatting her attraction to him.

But, what Dulcie isn’t betting on is the fact that the case becomes personal when she learns all the victims are somehow linked to her.

When her best friend falls victim to the Dreamstalker, Dulcie must do everything in her power to ensure her friend’s survival, including associating with criminals and accepting the fact that desperate times do definitely call for desperate measures.

My Review:

This is the second in Mallory's Dulcie O'Neil series with vampires, werewolves, goblins, loki, witches, fairies, elves populating the streets of Splendor, CA along with the humans and a new threat causing people from Dulcie's past and present to fall into a coma for days before dying.

The chemistry between Dulcie and the three males who want her is off the charts. Bram, Knight, Sam, Trey are back helping Dulcie with this latest case. Quill even makes an appearance.

Bram is celebrating his 300th birthday as a vampire and is even more gorgeous than even and more enamored with Dulcie.

Knight, still his uber sexy and delicious self, is back to drag Dulcie into an ANC case and torment her with all his flirtations.

Quill, still his paranormal romance book cover sensual self, comes to Dulcie's rescue when she needs some not so legal help and when he thinks she needs assistance in a fight.

Enter Dia, a sleep goblin and Chief of nearby Moon ANC precinct to lend her help with the case as well.

Once again, even though the sexual tension is high, there is more talk than action in that area. In my humble opinion, Dulcie needs to give in and get her a little sumthin' sumthin' with at least one, if not all, of these three hunks she has panting after her.

Okay, so this is not strictly a paranormal romance anymore since, according to the authors who participated in the Is it Paranormal Romance or Urban Fantasy event here last month since it doesn't meet the requirement of a couple getting together and staying together in a single book. However, it has lots of humor, sexual chemistry, romance (in its way), studly gorgeous males and who cares if Dulcie hasn't made up her mind yet and we need to read more fun to find out? We get more of the characters this way.

This was another fun read. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

My Review:

In this first of the Dulcie O'Neil series, Mallory has created a world populated with witches, warlocks, fairies, demons, vampires, werewolves, elves, hobgoblins, ogres, leprechauns, pixies, gremlins, loki and more who all "came out" into the public to the humans fifty years ago. Now a creature is killing illegal potions dealers in the city of Splendor, CA.

This is a humorous paranormal fantasy romance story filled with action and a betrayal which reminds me a little of MaryJanice Davidson's style of writing.

Meet the main characters:
Dulce, the female lead, is a fairy with Spock ears (she really hates her ears) who works as a Regulator, someone who monitors the creatures of the Netherworld to ensure they’re not breaking any rules, for the A.N.C. (Association for Netherworld Creatures). When she's not out kicking butts, she's a budding romance author.
Quillan, elf and Dulce's boss, is sexy in a paranormal romance book cover kind of way.
Sam, Dulcie's best friend, is a witch who works with her.
Bram is a vampire who runs a nightclub called No Regrets. He also dated Sam for awhile but she broke it off when she figured out he was dating her just to get closer to Dulcie.
Dagan is a demon who runs an S&M club called Payne and is one of Dulcie's informants.
Trey is a hobgoblin and the only other Regulator in the Splendor precinct.
Knight is a detective from the A.N.C. Relations Office in the Netherworld and a Loki who is here on a temporary assignment.

Everyone gets involved trying to stop the creature murdering the illegal potions traders as well as the one controlling the creature but it is up to Dulcie to finish it.

Three sexy gorgeous guys are romancing Dulcie. Who will she pick? The elf, the loki or the vampire? The sexual chemistry is hot in book but there is more talk than action on that front.

Warning Spoiler Alert!!!
This ends with open question of who Dulcie will end up with, we'll have to wait for the sequel.

October's Paranormal romance characterfest + giveaway with Misty Evens

Welcome to Characterfest

Characterfest is a month long event where you’ll find a different character interviews written by the author each day. Each interview has a giveaway(s) make sure the giveaway is open to you and if so add a comment or question along with your email. I hope you enjoy each interview and please try to make it here each day to find out whom or what’s next. If this goes as planned I will be hosting this next year.

List of attending authors here

Misty Evans: Amy, since I know almost everything there is to know about you, I asked fans of the Witches Anonymous series to come up with questions for this interview. The first one comes from reader Michelle: What is the best thing and the worst thing about being a witch?

Amy Atwood: The best thing? Feeling the magic inside my chest beating like a second heart. Magic is so much a part of me, I can’t imagine life without it. The worst thing? Since I’m in Witches Anonymous, now, I can’t use my magic. But I still like knowing it’s there!

ME: Why did you join Witches Anonymous?
AA: I was Lucifer’s right-hand witch for seven years until I found him hexing it up with my sister, Emilia. A girl can only take so much and that pushed me beyond my limits. I broke up with him, swore off magic, and joined Witches Anonymous to keep me on the straight and narrow. I’m trying to be normal now.

ME: And how is that working for you?
AA: It sucks (but don’t tell my WA peers, ’kay?). I fall off the magic-free wagon ALL THE TIME. I’m terrible at being normal.

ME: What do you love most about being a witch?
AA: When I was practicing magic, my favorite part was spellwork. Transforming a wish into a spell, summoning Luc’s magic and mixing it with mine, performing rituals with him…oh, yeah, definitely spellwork.

ME: Here are a couple of questions from reader Christiana: What was the first thing you noticed about Luc? About Adam?
AA: The first thing I noticed about Luc was his voice. I was standing in the Louvre at the foot of the Venus di Milo statue and he came up behind me and said, “Ah, Aphrodite of Melos.” I turned around and there he was, all dark eyes and sexy swagger, and my heart and my magic both did a cha-cha in my chest.

As for Adam? I was attending my first Witches Anonymous meeting when he stumbled in, looking for a Harley meeting. Dressed in a tight t-shirt, loose jeans and a pair of boots, his intense brown eyes looked intelligent when his gaze locked with mine. And then his focus dropped to my mouth. It stayed there a second too long before returning to meet my eyes. Good think I was wearing my plum lip gloss.

ME: Reader Edie wants to really put you on the spot with this last question: Luc or Adam, which is better in bed?
AA: Guess everyone will have to read the books and find out!

The devil made Amy do it…what about you? What has the devil made you do? I’m giving away a copy of Witches Anonymous to one lucky commenter!

Review The Calling by Ashley Lynn Willis

Title: The Calling
Author  Ashley Lynn Willis
Srouce: Requested review
Genre: Light paranormal romance
Length: Novel

Mandy Hardy lost more than a breast to cancer; she lost her fiancé when he dumped her a week before her mastectomy. Her ego bruised and her self-esteem battered, Mandy’s sure she’ll never fall in love again.

Justin Seward is a headstrong Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer with a heart of gold and the supernatural ability to command the seas. He had to hide his feelings while Mandy was engaged to his best friend. Now that she’s free, he’s vowed to make her his.

Together, they may hold the key to each other’s salvation. But when Justin’s past catches up with him, and Mandy’s ex-fiancé wants vengeance, they realize they might not live long enough for happily ever after. The Calling is a 360 page paranormal romance to be released October 2011.

Rating 3 1/2

Ashley has a very well written book and she does a good job in telling her story. But I have to admit I was looking for something a little different. This is a story about a woman who has had breast cancer and meets a demigod. The thing is you read about Mandy’s drama with her ex and her cancer and you don’t get to know about the paranormal aspects of the story until almost the middle of the book and it’s very light on the paranormal.

I liked Mandy but she was so hung up on her ex that she almost missed someone special in her life and I couldn’t figure it out for the likes of me why. The dead beat ex dumps her when she is in need of someone, he tires to sabotage her new relationship and even tires to kill her but yet she still can’t get past him. WAHTEVER! LOL. This is just a few things the ex does. Yep, there’s more.

Justin I did really like, I also enjoyed how the author went about his story and bringing his dad back to him.

I read PNR to get away from everyday life’s drama and this one brings you into  it. So that's the biggest reason I couldn’t get it into this story.

You get a good drama roll between the characters and some great sex. Just don’t expect some kind of huge paranormal roll like most RNR book because this is a light paranormal romance. I do suggest if you like some of the aspects of the book please do give try it.

My Ratings

Review

Sexual

By far the best of The Guardian Angelinos series. After SHIVER OF FEAR (Book 2), I was a bit leery of picking up and continuing with the series, but I did want to read Vivi and Lang's story. WOW - What a ride! Ms. St. Claire did not disappoint.

These two, Vivi and Lang, would be voted the least likely to succeed: Opposites attract. Vivi has kept a dark secret from her family for many years and it has affected her relationships with men. Slim to none would be the case. Lang's previous partner was KIA and has had a lasting effect on him. Although, from the first opening sex scene you wouldn't think so. The way Vivi seduces Lang just so he won't say her name. Well, now, it goes way past a lap dance!

Add in to this emotional quagmire a serial killer, a body double, and a man on the FBI's most wanted list and you have a story that will keep you riveted till the last page turns.

Ms. St. Claire touches upon a topic in FACE OF DANGER that is rarely approached in the romance genre. Granted, she does not delve deeply into the subject (that is for another forum), but I give her kudos for bringing it to the forefront of her audience; even if briefly.

The characters are vividly drawn and the reappearance of a few of the Angelino and Rossi family members only add to the enjoyment of FACE OF DANGER. Ah yes, Gabe Rossi makes a GRAND entrance. I'm hoping Ms. St. Claire is furiously penning his story next.

Interview with Amon Kalins and Thea Forester from Destiny Redeemed

Gabrielle:  Good morning.  I’m Gabrielle Bisset and today I’m here with Amon Kalins from Stolen Destiny and now Destiny Redeemed and a very special guest, his destined one, Thea.  Welcome, Amon and Thea.

Amon:  Gabrielle, it’s nice to be here.  So I’m here on witch week.  That’s interesting.

Thea:  Thanks for inviting me, Gabrielle.  (Turns to Amon)  You’re sort of a warlock type, honey.  You can do things that even other Aeveren can’t. (Amon winks and Thea smiles)  I didn’t mean like that, Amon.  I meant your powers.

Gabrielle:  Amon, why don’t you explain what your powers are.

Amon:  I’m a tempuster, which means I can manipulate time.  I can speed it up, slow it down, and even stop it.  I can also travel through time, in addition to being able to teleport in this time.  And I can manipulate people’s thoughts, but that power has always been the least powerful of all my abilities.

Gabrielle:  That’s an impressive set of powers.  And Thea, what’s your power?

Thea:  I’m afraid I’m not anywhere as exciting as Amon is.  I’m an Aeveren healer.

Amon:  Don’t let her humble act fool you.  Her power is just as impressive as all mine, even more since she does good with it.

Thea:  (leans over and kisses him)  I try, Gabrielle.  But I’m under the control of the Council, so I’m supposed to do what they tell me to do, and sometimes that means not healing people because the Council plans to punish them.  I hate that.

Gabrielle:  Was there ever a time you didn’t do what the Council told you to do?

Thea:  (looks over at Amon)  Yes, when I met Amon.  They told all healers that we weren’t to help him in any way, but I did.

Amon:  To be fair, she didn’t have a choice, Gabrielle.

Thea:  He’s right. Markku did kidnap me to help Amon, but I’m glad he did.  If he didn’t, we wouldn’t have met when we did. Who knows how long it would have taken for us to find one another.

Gabrielle:  So the whole kidnapping thing is ok, Thea?

Thea:  I can’t tell you how many times my people have forced me to help them.  Being a healer is an often thankless job, and people don’t want to know that I have a private life outside of healing.

Amon:  They know now, whether they like it or not.  I’m not about to let my destined one get kidnapped or forced to do anything she doesn’t want to do.  Now they have to deal with me, and I’m nowhere as nice as Thea.

Gabrielle:  Have you had to deal with anything like that since you got together?

Amon:  Once or twice, but word got out quite quickly that I wasn’t going to tolerate that.

Gabrielle:  (smiles) I imagine when people see a six-and-a-half foot Aeveren male who’s built like he just spent a year in Nil coming at them, they think twice about what they had in mind.

Thea:  He is impressive, I admit.  I’m only about your size, Gabrielle, so you know that sometimes people take advantage of us.  But Amon only has to stand up and look at people and they seem to have a change of heart.

Gabrielle:  I can imagine.  So Amon, are you staying on the good side of the Council now?

Amon:  Good side?  I haven’t seen a good side to the Council.

Gabrielle:  You know, not disobeying their edicts.

Amon:  Let’s say they respect me and I don’t think about them.

Gabrielle:  How does that work when your destined one is someone who must work for them?

Amon:  They know their limits.  And if they ever forget, I’ll be happy to remind them.

Thea:  (takes his hand)  He’s not a big fan of the Council, Gabrielle.  But they’ve respected my wishes to be a healer in Greece now that we live there, and there haven’t been too many times when I’ve had to do things I disagreed with.

Amon:  (groans) They’re a hassle for her on the best days.

Thea:  This is what you get when your destined one is a healer.

Gabrielle:  It seems that destiny is even more powerful than the Council, Amon.

Amon:  I never doubt destiny, Gabrielle.  When you’ve lived 47 lifetimes and had the experiences I’ve had, you thank destiny every day.

Gabrielle:  Tell everyone about some of those lifetimes.

Amon:  I’ve been everything from a simple Greek fisherman to a Viking to a farmer living in the Roman Empire.  Some lifetimes are more exciting than others, but I find ways to make it interesting.

Gabrielle:  (smiles) I can see you as a Viking.

Amon:  Keep in mind this is how I look only in this lifetime.  I’ve looked very different in all my other lifetimes.  Aztecs don’t look stand 6’6” and have blond hair. Either do Greek fishermen.

Gabrielle:  True. That leads me to my next question. Since you’re destined for each other, how will you find one another in your next lifetime?

Thea:  Well, we only each have three left, and if we’re in the same lifetime together, then we’ll know.  I have to admit, Amon’s the only destined one I’ve ever had, but I remember all my mothers saying that deep inside, you know as soon as you’re old enough to comprehend it that there’s another soul somewhere in the world meant to be with you.

Amon:  You just know.  We remember our past lifetimes, so you feel it inside that the person you’re meant to be with is out there.  Sometimes destiny is good to you and makes finding your destined one easy.  Other times, she makes life a little harder for you and you have to work to find the person meant for you.

Gabrielle:  But there’s a chance that you may never again be in the same lifetime together and this could be your only lifetime together?

Thea:  Yes, I’m afraid that’s true.

Amon:  I have faith in destiny, though.  She’s never been heartless to me in all my lifetimes, even though I’ve been a prick in most of them.  I can’t imagine her being so cruel as to give Thea a destined one and then never let her be with that person again.  If she doesn’t decide to punish me for all the things I’ve done in 47 lifetimes, then I think there’s a good chance we’ll be together again.

Gabrielle:  Ok, here are some more questions, some of them a little quirky. What’s your favorite food?

Thea:  Pizza!  I just love pizza.

Amon:  I’m more a meat man, so a great steak would be my favorite food.

Gabrielle:  What are your vitals?

Thea:  5’6”, blond hair, blue eyes, and we won’t go into weight, I hope.

Amon:  (cocks one eyebrow) Is this like Playboy?  Do you plan on asking me my turn ons and turn offs next?

Gabrielle:  Yes, but first give me your vitals.

Amon:  (scowls) 6’6”, 230 lbs., blond hair, blue eyes.

Gabrielle:  And your turn ons and turn offs?

Thea:  Someone who makes me smile, our home in Greece, and intelligence.  Turn offs?  The Council, people who lie, and cold weather.

Amon:  Turn ons?  Long hair, a sexy voice, the way a woman smells when she wears a great perfume, and this black dress Thea wears that drives me out of my mind.  Turn offs?  Questions about my turn ons and turn offs, know-it-alls, and ignorance.

Gabrielle:  Ok, one last question.

Amon:  Boxer briefs, but I prefer commando.

Gabrielle:  (blushes)  That wasn’t the question, but I’m sure readers won’t mind thinking of you going commando, Amon.  What I was going to ask is do you ever wish you were someone else? Thea, you first.

Thea:  No.  Even with all those lifetimes alone, I still wouldn’t want to be anyone but who I’ve always been—an Aeveren healer, first and foremost.

Amon:  No. I am who I am.  I’m a better person now, but even at my worst, I’m still at my core the man destiny intended me to be.  That I’m powerful is just how she wants me. What I do with that power is another story.

Gabrielle:  Thank you both of you for sitting down and talking to me today.  It’s been a pleasure.

Thea:  Thank you, Gabrielle.  It’s so nice to see you again.  When are you going to visit us like you promised?

Amon:  My pleasure.  And anytime you want to visit, just let me know.  I’ll have you there in no time.

I’m giving away a copy of Destiny Redeemed and Stolen Destiny for twice as much Amon, so be sure to leave a comment with email to enter to win.

Review The Witching Pen by Dianna Hardy

Title The Witching Pen (The Witching Pen Novellas)
Author Dianna Hardy
Source Author requested review
Genre Paranormal romance- witch
Length Novella

Book One of The Witching Pen Novellas

Elena is a witch with a very special gift. She can make stories come to life with a pen. When she discovers that imagination can become reality at the stroke of her nib, she thinks it's the best thing to have ever happened … until she meets Nathaniel. With an inexplicable hypnotic hold over her, he is a demon with a familiar face that lurks in the shadows of her world, impervious to her 'witching pen', and determined to make her create the world as he would have it – with her at his side.

In order to prevent the creation of a demon dimension on Earth, and to keep her soul intact, Elena must uncover all of Nathaniel's secrets to overcome him. But what she uncovers only seems to draw her further into his world and to the demon himself, and when the final stone is turned, what she discovers could be the very thing that ends up killing her...

Publisher's Notes:-

Book length: novella (37,000+ words)

The Witching Pen is a quirky, fast-paced, adult paranormal romance, with a "Buffy-esque", urban fantasy undertone.

Rating 4 1/2

Throw everything you think about novellas out the door on this one. I was really impressed with this story.  You get a huge storyline with surprises spite the 67 pgs. You also get a good romance and one sex scene. Oh, I almost forgot you get a lot of sexual tension between these two also so you don’t miss out on the romance. I really like how the author went about writing how the pen works and the demons. This is an excellent story and quite differs from most paranormal romance stories. The book blurb really doesn’t do it justice so please don’t pay it too much mind .

Elena is a witch that lives with her best friend which by happens to be a guy named Karl. Karl has loved Elena since they were teens. He knows her secrets inside and out. He just has to make her see that she can trust him with her power. These two have to learn how to love and trust each other in order to stop the demon Nathaniel from getting Elena’s power. Before the end Karl finds out he is something special too.

Karl and Elena are great together the only thing I wished would have happened was the sex scene would have went a tad slower with Elena being a virgin.

Great characters and a great romance story, I highly recommend this one to anyone who loves witches and surprises.

Interview with Teresa Santiago- Witch

Teresa Santiago is the witch heroine of VISIONS OF SKYFIRE, the second book in The Awakening, a series of dark paranormal romances from author Regan Hastings, the alter ego of USA TODAY bestselling author Maureen Child. This interview takes place one week before Teresa’s powers Awaken and VISIONS OF SKYFIRE begins…

REPORTER: Thank you for agreeing to speak with us. Not many women are brave enough these days to admit that they’re witches.

TERESA: You’re not recording this, are you? I was told there would be no recording devices.

REPORTER: No, I assure you, there are no hidden cameras, no microphones. Just me and old-fashioned paper and pencil. I will protect your anonymity. In the article, you will be referred to only as The Witch.

TERESA: Sorry, I have to insist that you open your jacket. (She checks the reporter for recording devices, finds none.) Can’t be too careful. The Bureau of Witchcraft has operatives everywhere, not to mention the most powerful weapons the world has ever known. Some of the stories coming out of the witches’ internment camps are horrific. The lucky witches are the ones who are killed outright. The ones who have to suffer through the experiments… (Teresa shudders.) And it all stems from ignorance.

REPORTER: That’s why we’re here today, to help our readers understand that not all witches are evil. When did you discover that you’re a witch?

TERESA: I come from a long line of witches. Ever since I was a little girl, my abuela has been preparing me for the day my powers would Awaken.

REPORTER: And have they? Awakened?

TERESA: Not yet, but my time is coming. I can feel it. Weird things have started to happen around me. Light bulbs explode when I walk through a room. TVs turn on, computers crash. I think my powers will have something to do with electricity. If you had brought recording devices, they probably wouldn’t work, anyway.

REPORTER: That sounds dangerous, but you say people shouldn’t fear you. Why?

TERESA: Because I don’t want to hurt anyone. In fact, Abuela says that I’m going to save humanity. Well, me and the other witches whose powers are Awakening. Humanity can’t stop the evil that’s coming. You need the witches you’re trying to kill.

REPORTER: (Silent as she absorbs that, then she pastes a cheery smile on her pale face.) So… what’s dating like for a witch?

TERESA: (Laughs.) I’m not looking for a relationship. Just getting over a bad break-up. Anyway, once my powers Awaken, my Eternal will show himself, and that’ll be that.

REPORTER: Your Eternal?

TERESA: Sorry, my mate. Another destiny thing, according to Abuela. He’s my guardian, my protector, and he’s going to help me save the world.

REPORTER: That’s so romantic!

TERESA: Like I said, I’m not looking for romance… but I’ve got nothing against hooking up! From what I hear, the Eternals are wickedly good looking, with the bodies like a god.

REPORTER: Nothing wrong with that!

TERESA: Not a thing… as long as he doesn’t expect me to fall in love.

ARC review Ecstasy Untamed by Pamela Palmer

Title:Ecstasy Untamed (Feral Warriors, #6)
Author Pamela Palmer
Source: Netgalley
Genre: paranormal romance- shifter
Format: Mass paperback
Release date: 10/25/11

They are called Feral Warriors—an elite band of immortals who can change shape at will. Sworn to rid the world of evil, consumed by sorcery and seduction, their wild natures are primed for release . . .

Shattered by recent nightmarish events, Hawke feels his bond with his animal spirit weakening—and once it breaks, he’s finished. The arrival of Faith sends his life spinning even further out of control, for although she delights him and enflames his deepest primal passions, she’s promised to Maxim, the newest Feral Warrior.

Rating : 3 1/2

Faith is drawn to Hawke from the start, but Maxim holds her in his thrall and has secretly bent her to his malevolent will. Though gravely damaged, Hawke is the only one who can end Faith’s slavery and protect the Feral Warriors from Maxim’s evil designs. But first they both must embrace the wild . . . and surrender body and soul to a forbidden, all-consuming ecstasy.

Pamela’s stories just keep getting deeper as they go. I really enjoyed the way she came about with the threat to the Warriors this time around, it was different.

I have enjoyed reading this series but this one was borderline for me. I enjoyed some of it but yet some of it I didn’t. Pamela writes on the darker side with each of her warriors but this one the heroine really tore at me.. I felt so bad for her but again she was the one that chose the route to go with the Feral, but she didn’t want the abuse. What I disliked most was she was abused while in the Warriors house and it took them a bit to even find out. But I have to admit Pamela gave this heroine so much at the end, so it was worth reading all of it. I am still scratching my head over the one sex scene between her and Hawke. It’s not that I mind reading ruff and somewhat bloody sex it’s just Faith keeps saying she was never a person that would be a victim of violence but yet she’s having very rough sex… And yes, I know she was possessed but I am still confused with it..

As always you get a fast pace action story. You also get to read about the other Warriors and their wife’s. I hope Vhyper starts bugging Pamela soon because I can’t wait for his book.

Review

Sometimes life gets stressful and hectic and you just can't find the energy or time to dive into a new series or a long book. Then along comes a wonderful, short novella that is just the pick me up you need. Gun Shy was exactly what I needed this week. It was a sweet story of taking a chance and finding love in the most unlikely places.

Eros has been banished to Earth for neglecting his job and allowing love among the humans to dissipate. Until he brings enough couples together he can't go back home. He starts with Kira, a high school principal who's less than classy boyfriend dumps her at the top of a Ferris wheel and Jesse, the bassist for a popular rock band who's tired of the partying and fast and fake lifestyle. Throw in a carnival, a fortune teller machine and a "wasp" sting and you find yourself pulled into a cute story that plays to the "rock star falls for everyday girl" fantasy in all of us. Now I think I'll go put on my favorite CD and pretend my rock star is a sweet as Jesse.

REVIEW OF Mark of the Sylph (Demons of Infernum #2)

Title: Mark of the Sylph (Demons of Infernum #2)
Author: Rosalie Lario Source:
Author Genre: Paranormal erotic romance
Format: ebook - 268 pages
Release Date: 9/6/2011

Half-demon Taeg is desperate to free his pregnant sister-in-law, who is spellbound to an indestructible book that will create an army of the undead. He is convinced that an ancient sword can destroy the book and the spell forever, but this relic has been hidden for a millennia by a powerful glamour. The clock begins to run out on his search when an old rival goes after the book and Teag’s family in his quest for revenge. Librarian Maya Flores has a secret: she’s immune to magic and is well aware of the supernatural beings prowling the streets of New York City. Haunted by a brutal demon attack that took her family, she is on a one-woman mission to destroy the evil demons who did it, and any others who get in her way. Maya is Taeg’s best hope for uncovering the sword. Unfortunately, she wants nothing more than to kill him. As he fights for her trust and to save his family, she is forced to face the truth that not all demons are evil. And the worst part? She might be falling in love with one, too.

I loved the second story in this series!! This story picks up where the first one left off so it really helps to read this series in order. The 4 brothers continue to be a part of the story which keeps it interesting. It also makes me want to read their stories. Maya and Taeg were meant for each other. They are both warriors of a sort with damaged backgrounds. My only issue with the story, which is just a personal pet peeve, was the lack of trust that they had for each other. Maya really didn’t trust any demons after several of them destroyed her family so it made sense that she would fight the attraction. There was just no way she could win when they were clearly meant for each other. Taeg made some immature decisions but seemed to learn from them. This novel kicked up the steam another level. Even though they don’t truly hook up until later in the story, the dreams they share and the thoughts they have keep this story steamy from the beginning. Once they get together, it becomes quite the erotic story including anal play. This plot moved quickly just like the first book and had an interesting and suspenseful plot. I’m looking forward to the next one!
