The Djinn's Dilemma book trailer

Book Promo Giveaway of TOUCH OF THE ANGEL by Rosalie Lario

Blurb:
After months of no work, interdimensional bounty hunter Ronin Meyers jumps at the chance to locate an incubus who’s using succubi as murder weapons. Faced with deportation to hellish Infernum if he fails, Ronin will stop at nothing to take out the incubus and anyone else involved. Even the beautiful succubus who stole his heart—and nearly his life—during the most mind-blowing hour of his existence.

Night after night, Amara and her fellow succubi are forced to extract special abilities from the strongest Otherworlders for their psychotic master’s growing collection. When the gorgeous angel-demon hybrid she believed to be dead captures her, Amara is both stunned and elated.
But the happily ever after Amara’s dreamed about will have to wait. Before she and Ronin can find salvation, they must bring down the madman hellbent on destroying everything—and everyone—they love. And Ronin and Amara are at the top of his list…

Excerpt:
He needed to stay away from her. To let her go. In fact, he should hate her for what she’d done to him, for what she’d taken from him. Instead, he instinctively longed to protect her. He was treading dangerous ground here.
“Why me, of all people?”
She blinked at him. “What do you mean?”
“Why did you choose me out of all the men in that club?”
“I...don’t know.”
That answer wasn’t good enough. “I’m so what?”
Her brow wrinkled. “What?”
“Back in the living room. Before you said you couldn’t resist, you said that I was so...you cut off before finishing. What was I?”
Amara gave him a half smile. “Too decent for me. I should have left you alone.”
Unable to help himself, Ronin reached out and traced her full lips.
She lost her smile, her mouth trembling at his touch. “You said that at the club. But I don’t think that’s what you were referring to.”
“No.”
She shifted her head and his fingers fell to her neck. He stroked the tender flesh of her throat before forcing her to meet his eyes. “So what then? What did you think of me?”
A deep sigh lifted her chest, and it took everything he had not to drop his gaze. Damn but she turned him on. Partly because of what she was. But even more because of who she was. Something about her called to him. This wasn’t good. Yet he couldn’t stop himself from engaging her.
“What, Amara?” he asked when she didn’t respond.
A spark of challenge lit her eyes and she lifted her chin. “I thought you were delicious.”
The surprise of that word elicited a laugh from deep in the pit of his stomach. “Delicious?”
“Irresistible. Everyone else faded into the background when I saw you.”
He sobered. Devil, she sounded serious. For all he knew she was playing with him, toying with his emotions. As a succubus, that was sort of her specialty. But part of him wanted to believe her. Hell, if he had to be honest, all of him did.
“I still feel that way,” she whispered, moistening her lips.
Her words made him hard in an instant. He’d had difficulty controlling himself upon the mere sight of her back at Asmodeus’s house. Now, after this, he knew it would be impossible.
Don’t forget what she did to you. What she put you through. He was undoubtedly weaker now. No way he’d survive another round with her. This was dangerous.
Hell, he was about to do something incredibly stupid. But then, that seemed to be his M.O. when she was around.
Before he could second-guess himself, he hooked a hand around the back of her neck and yanked her forward, crushing his lips against hers. She tensed before winding her arms around his shoulders and pulling him in. A sound that was halfway between an oath and a moan escaped her.

Stacey Kennedy Blog Tour for Supernaturally Kissed

Stacey's no stranger here to Bitten, this powerhouse of a romance author will do anything for her books. I can't blame her though her books are really gooood;) Anyhoo, Supernaturally kiss has a new publisher and cover that's really hot. So read below to see what Stacey has to offer and make sure you mark Supernaturally Kiss to read so you don't miss it.

Big hugs go out to Bitten by Paranormal Romance for joining in on the Supernaturally Kissed swag tour! I am asked a lot, “Can you really write a romance where the hero is a ghost?” And my answer is simply, yes you sure can!
Now I’ll admit it was challenging, especially when it came to writing the love scenes. It definitely pushed me to be creative. But I’ll tell you, it made the scenes that much hotter. I mean, really, how do you write a love scene when they can’t touch? Impossible, right?
Oh, you’d be wrong. Even though this story falls under Ellora’s Cave blush line doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot of heat to it. Sure, you won’t find overly erotic scenes with all the frank language. But Kipp, our ghost, is one smooth talking dirty man. He has a mouth to match his off-the-charts-sexiness, and I simply enjoyed every minute of writing his character.
Match him up with a strong heroine who blushes at everything he says, but is more than able to handle this ghost and you’ve got yourself a sizzling tale. The release of this story is on January 5, 2012, and I’m counting down the days and hope that if you have a chance to read this story, you’ll enjoy Kipp as much as I do.

Ghosts harass and annoy Tess Jennings to save their souls. Sometimes she helps them. Other times she ignores them. But one ghost will give her no choice.
Kipp McGowen, a cop with the Memphis Police Department, will stop at nothing to gain her help, including using his ghostly charms to seduce her.
Tess must help solve the five year old cold case of Hannah Reid, because solving the case will save Kipp. But a bigger problem presents itself. Tess is falling in love with a ghost. Now she must decide. Keep Kipp forever or find the killer…

Discussion of the month December 2011

Felicia at Geeky Blogger's Book blog had a post about this on her blog a few weeks back. I thought it was really neat and wanted to see how many here would like to do a little experiment.

If you’re a member on goodreads you can find who your most read authors are. I really thought this would be a neat to see how many of us would have the same top authors and who is that top author that we all read.

If you’re on goodreads go to your bookshelf and look down the left side you'll see tools, and then most read authors click on that to get your list. Copy your top 5 or 10 authors, come back here and paste them. The pictures won’t so up but the list will.  I would just like to see out us who are the most read author.

DUNCAN (Vampires in America #5)
D. B. Reynolds
Publisher: ImaJinn Books

Ebook supplied in exchange for an honest review

Washington, D.C. … capital of an empire. Powerful. Exhilarating. Corrupt. And in the shadows … vampires far older than the nation itself.

He will rock the halls of human power if necessary. But Washington, D.C. will be his.

My Ratings

Review

Sexual

As with her other novels, Ms. Reynolds uses flashback and we are graced with not only the beginning of an eternal friendship, but that of Duncan’s loss and rebirth. However, this novel is not as gritty, violent or bloody as the previous ones. What you will find is an underbelly of deceit and corruption in the halls of Washington D.C. The subject matter of nonconsensual sex is handled very well and given kid-glove treatment.

Raphael has finally met his match in Duncan. No, Raphael hasn’t been usurped – as these two vampires vary so greatly in their display of powers. Duncan is the epitome of the Southern “Vampire” Gentleman. He holds his power close to himself, only showing any type of display when absolutely necessary. And then, “Katy bar the doors!” This Southern “Vamp” Gentleman also knows how to treat a Lady. *wink wink*

Without giving too much away, there is one part where:

Duncan looked over Alaric’s shoulder, his gaze finding Emma in the deep shadows beneath a drooping tree on the other side of the yard. She stood motionless, staring at him, her hands clasped against her mouth. He slapped Alaric’s shoulder and stepped aside, starting toward her. She watched him come, her violet eyes dark, a suspicious sheen telling him she’d been crying. Her heartbeat raced faster with every step he took. When he drew close enough, her hands fell away from her face as she ran forward, his name on her lips as she threw herself in his arms.
“Duncan,” she cried, then sucked back a sobbing breath.
“Emmaline,” he whispered against her ear, burying his face in the warm silk of her hair, filling his arms with her softness and drowning himself in the scent and touch of her.

This, My Dear Friends, is why I read romance.

But, no, Ms. Reynolds isn’t content to stop there. She has to throw one helluva wrench into the story and WTH!!! I was blindsided by this one. Bravo – Well Done!

As an added bonus, we get more lusciousness in the forms of Miguel, Baldwin, Lucas, Louis. GAH – She is such a tease!

Review Wicked Wives by Gus Pelagatti

Title:Wicked Wives by
Source: Requested review
Genre: Non Fiction
Length: Novel

"Wicked Wives" is based on the true story of the 1938 Philadelphia murder scandals in which seventeen wives were arrested for murdering their husbands. Mastermind conspirator Giorgio DiSipio, a stunning lothario and local tailor who preys upon disenchanted and unfaithful wives, convinces twelve of them to kill their spouses for insurance money. The murder conspiracy is very successful until one lone assistant D.A., Tom Rossi, uncovers the plot and brings the perpetrators to justice. "Wicked Wives" is a story made for Hollywood, combining murder, corruption, treachery, love, lust and phenomenal detail as it vividly captures Depression-era Philadelphia.

First let me say this is not the typical book for this blog but when the request came in and I read the blurb I just had to give it a try. All I have to say is WOW! This is a fantastic read.

Based on a true story Gus takes you down the path of greed, corruption, lust and lots of murdering as these conspirators feel the need to kill for only money. But he doesn’t stop there.Oh no, the twist at the end is one that will leave you in pure shock. I must say the author, Gus, really did his homework for this novel. I’m really surprised a Hollywood producer has not made this into a movie. And again I have to say wow, No spoilers for this one, you will have to read it for yourself, I gave it a 5 because it is great. I’m really glad I got to review this novel.

I can picture it now the opening of the movie would be the newspaper article sent to Tom at the end of the book floating across the screen.

I highly recommend this one to anyone that likes a good suspenseful read.

My Review -

Heart of Darkness is not only a paranormal romance between vampires but also a beautiful story of love, devotion, commitment and believing in the ability of overcome any obstacle.

What I enjoyed about Heart of Darkness was Felicity's ability to describe in detail the developing relationship between Aleksandr and Elise and the emotional turmoil that both go through in their journey of self-discovery. Both Aleksandr and Elise are characters that you develop feelings for because you feel their pain, anguish, despair and hope that they have a HEA (though there were times I became tired of Elise's continuous doubts that I felt like smacking her across the head).

That is not to say that there were no bright spots in the book. The building sexual tension between the two of them and Aleksandr's smouldering looks and predatory way of approaching Elise made not only her melt and feel weak in the knees but also the reader.

Aleksandr is a damaged vampire after centuries of trying to seek out his vengeance on a hunter that has cost him his humanity. This is what makes Felicity's vampires different and unique. Her vampires live among humans who do not know of their existence. They retain their humanity, rarely hunt for blood, have heartbeats, can reproduce and the thing that really set them apart: they do not allow their dark side to come through.

Vampires that succumb to the dark bloodlust and become monsters are ordered to be destroyed. Aleksandr has been killing for over 400 years seeking revenge but the hunt has been slowly destroying him. He has reached a point in his existence that either he kills the hunter or his hunt will destroy him and he will lose the last shred of humanity that is left inside him.

Elise is his salvation and his light after centuries of darkness. Elise is a strong vampire and because of her own personal loss she has through the centuries developing a tough exterior that has caused her to shield herself from emotions such a love. When these two get together they realize that for the first time they are feeling emotions so powerful that they are afraid of what it means and how it may change them. The two can't deny their feelings and soon things heat up to such intense levels that nothing can stop it. Paranormal romance fans will enjoy getting lost in the raging passion between these two characters.

Review Playing For Keeps by Carolyn Rosewood

Title:Playing For Keeps (Seduced By A Demon #3)
Author: Carolyn Rosewood
Source: Author request
Genre: Paranormal romance- Demon
Length: Novella

Damien Walker has just hired a sexy new bartender, and landed himself trouble, with a capital 'T'.

Teresa's on the run, but from something more sinister than human law. She's a demon on the lam from Hell, trying to hide away in this sleepy town. A job in Damien's bar seems the perfect cover. He doesn't ask questions and he's great eye-candy too. What could be better?

But Teresa isn't the only one with a secret identity and a past they'd rather not remember. Damien knows exactly who and what she is because he's hunted demons before and old habits die hard.

What's a Nephilim bounty hunter to do when one white-hot little devil walks into his bar and turns his quiet life upside down? She's a complication he could do without. She's also irresistible.

So she wants to cause him trouble? That's nothing compared to what he can do to her.

My first book by this author and I really like her style of writing. This is the third book in the series and I found it to be a standalone. So for those of you that are read series in order nuts like me it ok to grab this one out of order. You not only get hot sizzling sex you get action and a great storyline.

Damien and Teresa and starts off in a blaze but they very quick slow it down so the storyline can take place. I really liked how they connected with each other and the way they both had to learn to trust each other with their not so hot past.

I recommend this one for anyone who wants a fast pace sexy paranormal novella. Now I have to get my hands on the other books in this series.

Guest post with romance author Lisa Renee Jones

Happy Monday after Thanksgiving!

Okay – maybe you’d rather be in bed sleeping off the food and the shopping, so I better do something today to shake things up right.

Like get a little sexy on, how about it?

WHAT is sexy?

Sigh…. For me its Keanu Reeves or Enrique Iglesias who looks so much like my fiancée that I swear the are related somehow. Did you see him during half time on TDAY?!

But sexy goes beyond looks. We all know one of those hot guys that is so sure he is hot that he suddenly isn’t hot. I am reminded of the movie I finally laughed my backside off to last night, BRIDESMAIDS. IF you haven’t seen it, it’s so funny and there is the perfect HOT GUY NOT in it. And that food poisoning scene --- my fiancée watched it 3 times!

I like to think Sterling is the HOT GUY who gets hotter because he’s sensitive and caring and no matter how crappy life has been to him, he’s never bitter. That is his hottest quality to me. Though I did pin this picture up while writing him!

So here is a little about THE STORM THAT IS STERLING and since we are talking about SEXY – a sexy scene for your Monday after holiday bliss enjoymentJ

“A wild ride of love and lust,
betrayal and trust.”
For The Love of Books

He may be invincible to everyone else…
Sterling Jeter has remarkable powers and has shown himself
to be just about indestructible. But beautiful, brilliant Rebecca
Burns knows that even a Super Soldier needs comfort, and so
much more…

But she can see that deep down,
hes just a man…
Sterling and Rebecca’s teenage romance was interrupted,
but years later the heat between them flares back to life.
Even though it endangers everything they’re fighting for, it’s
impossible to resist picking up right where they left off…

Great new Booklist review of THE STORM THAT IS STERLING!! YAY!
The Storm That Is Sterling
Nov 2011. 384 p. Sourcebooks/Casablanca, hardcover, $6.99. (9781402251597).
The exciting Zodius futuristic suspense series features soldiers enhanced by a GTECH secret military experiment. Sterling Jeter, who is assigned to guard Rebecca Burns, the scientist working on an antidote for the highly addictive and fatal drug ICE. But Rebecca is also the high-school dream Sterling was never able to realize. She has cancer and tangling with bad guys who want her science skills for their ends has left her an ICE addict, too. She wants to take advantage of her time left with Sterling, while Sterling wants to protect her. As danger mounts, they try to sort out who is trustworthy. The GTECH and science details can best be followed with the help of the index, but they do not overwhelm the appealing characters or action. Jones’ suspense truly sizzles with an energy similar to FBI tales with a paranormal twist by Julie Garwood or Suzanne Brockmann. Alpha, military, and paranormal romance readers will want Jones’ entire series.

EXCERPT:
His cheek brushed hers, whiskers erotically scraping against her skin, his breath warm against her ear as he whispered, “If I instinctively know something so simple as how to order your dinner, think what else I might know about you. What we might know about each other. How to tease each other… How to please each other.”
There was an emptiness inside her that shuddered with hope, with a plea that he would drive it away, fill it with something that wasn’t icy and cold.
He pulled back and looked at her, his eyes dark, passionate. Compelling. “No regrets, Becca,” he vowed, and she knew he’d found those words in her head. Words she’d sworn to live by when she’d left that German hospital without a cure. Words she’d spoken in her head in the lab earlier with him there.
She rolled them around inside her and let them take root, rewarded herself with a deep inhalation of Sterling’s addictive, masculine scent. “No regrets,” she said softly.
A slow smile formed on his lips. “I love it when you agree with me,” he teased.
Becca laughed. “You’re crazy.”
“About you,” he said huskily.
She felt a little schoolgirl rush from that. In the past, she would have felt like the geeky bookworm with the quarterback, uncomfortable and out of her league, but not with Sterling. Never before had a man taken her from such dark emotions to laughter. A place she might just find real escape.
She pressed her hands to his face, her lips to his. Absorbing him. Breathing him in like a little piece of life. They lingered that way, heat simmering between them. Expanding… drawing them in closer to one another without ever moving
His tongue flickered against her lips, pressed past her teeth as he slid it against hers for a long, sensual taste. “Your kisses taste like honey,” he murmured. “What does the rest of you taste like?”
She shivered at the erotic comment—the promise he was going to find out. He kissed her again. Crazy-wild, hot-kissed her, and she loved every second of it. Loved his tongue, his lips, and his hands sliding through her hair, over her face.
Becca ran her fingers through his thick, blond hair. She loved his hair—a little wild like him. Hot like him too. With each stroke of his tongue, each touch of his lips, she felt liberated.
Her palms traveled over his chest—warm, hard muscle, her reward. She was extremely, intensely interested in those muscles, like the best science project in the world that had to be studied. She explored his arms, his biceps, how they felt beneath her palms. Inching forward in her chair, she arched into him, for research purposes, of course. To explore how he would feel pressed close to her. Her breasts ached for his touch, her nipples tight and swollen, in need of his mouth. God. Had she really just had that brazen thought? She was a good girl; she always had been.
His hands slid over her breasts, fingers teased the stiff peaks of her nipples. Her hands covered his, silently telling him she wanted more, because she couldn’t ask or demand. Because she was still that “good girl” at heart and couldn’t seem to let it go.
But she didn’t want to be a good girl. If anyone knew the meaning of “life is short,” she did. Becca ran her lips over his jaw, hid her face in his neck, and nibbled as she said, “You know what I want?”
He slid his hands around her waist. “If you say Chinese food, I’m going to object.”
“I’ll give you a choice then,” she said, feeling braver with his jest. “Feed me, or take off your clothes.”
“I’m all for getting naked, if you are,” he quickly agreed.
“You first,” she bargained.
And while the idea of standing in front of him naked, him fully clothed, would make her feel vulnerable, exposed, it apparently had none of those effects on him.
“Okay,” he said, unaffected by the idea as he pushed to his feet and started undressing. And only seconds later, he stood there in all his naked glory, and she sat there, fully clothed.

Promo giveaway of Black Lust by Karyn Gerrard

BLACK LUST from Evernight Publishing Paranormal/Suspense/Vampire/Erotica novella

BLURB:
Lucius Black lives a debauched and wild nightlife. Being a ‘Quarter’ (1/4 vampire), blood and sex are what he is. However, his existence wears thin after a century of hedonistic pleasure.

Trevina Patterson lives a quiet, happy life running a hair salon in a village on the east coast of the United Kingdom. It was a perfect life and all she could ask for, until a chance encounter with Lucius Black.

What was it about him that was so unsettling and yet so attractive?

For Lucius, no woman had ever been enough, until Trevina. She awakened in him feelings he had not thought possible. Passions considered by him to be little more than vampiric mythology. She awakened his...black lust.

EXCERPT:
Trevina strolled up the stone walkway and knocked at the door. It was ajar, so she stuck her head in. “Hello? Anyone here?”

No one answered so she took a hesitant step across the threshold. Oh brilliant, it had hardwood floors and a fireplace. She felt the nearby wall, plaster, but with a fresh coat of paint. It was clean and bright. She imagined where she would place her few sticks of furniture when a deep voice boomed from the hallway.

“Who the hell are you, and what do you want?”

Her head turned toward the direction of the irritated voice. Her breath caught in her throat. A stunning looking man stood opposite her, his legs apart, and his arms crossed. He was in black leather from his long coat to the skin hugging leather pants and black boots. A tight black T-shirt accentuated rock-hard pectorals.

Trevina assumed this stunner looked like a fallen angel or a sexy demon, maybe both. At least that is how they seemed in the movies and on the telly. He had full red lips no man should possess and a scruffy days-old beard and chiseled handsome features. But it was his eyes, the same silver-gray as the sky over a stormy North Sea. They were very large and expressive, framed by long black eyelashes. She imagined the lashes were as soft as mink. He appeared dangerous, and she should be scared, but those eyes had her locked in a searing sexual Svengali-like gaze. He exuded perilous detachment. Impenetrable, guarded, and shielded from emotions. Why she sensed all that, she had no idea.

Instead of running to her scooter for safety, she stepped forward holding out her hand. “Trevina Patterson. Do you own this lovely cottage?”

The man stared down at her hand as if deciding whether to take it. He uncrossed his arms, took her hand and shook it. His hand was large, masculine, and very warm. His touch almost brought her to her knees it was so potent. His thumb stroked the top of her hand in a gentle circular motion. A slight sly smile curved his ruby red lips. She tried to bite back a moan but a shaky exhale escaped her throat. He let go of her hand. She felt anger mix with the intoxicating attraction. Did he get off making women react to him, especially women who were not beautiful? She knew she wasn’t. She accepted her blunt-plain features years ago; it saved her plenty of heartache.

“No, it belongs to a cousin of mine. I was looking at it, deciding if I was going to rent it. Why do you ask, Trevina?”

He used her first name. Oh, he was skilled at seduction. It dripped like molten honey in his voice, and she noticed he didn’t have a British accent. She moved closer to him. She would show this sexy leather clad demon she wasn’t intimidated. She looked up at him. Bloody hell, he was tall. “I would like to rent it myself. What’s your name?”

He crossed his arms again, a defensive posture to be sure. “Lucius Black.”

She couldn’t help but smile. The name fit him like a leather glove.

He cocked an eyebrow. “Something amusing?”

She bit her lower lip. “No. Nothing. So I’m out of luck apparently.”

He shifted his stance so he was, just inches away. Her breasts brushed by his impressive muscular chest causing a gush of liquid between her legs. He stared down at her, and his warm breath fanned her cheeks like the incendiary breath of a dragon. A damned sexy one. He exuded a spicy, woodsy scent that was bloody appealing. Warm flickering flame, fire and brimstone perhaps?

“I would not say that,” he whispered sensually.

Of course, that was before she realized what one little rescue would get her into . . .

Marcus Grayden has been an immortal protector of humanity for eight hundred years, and at the moment he's not interested in backup. From the moment Ami arrives in his life, he can't deny that she's strong, smart, and extremely skilled at watching his back. But she's also destroying his protective solitude and stirring desires he can't bear to awaken. After all, whatever her secrets — how can she defeat death itself?

Dianne Duvall delivers another action pack romance in book two of the Immortal Guardians series. If you read book one and loved it you sure can’t miss this one.

What is Ami? That’s what we was left with in book one. In this book you get Ami dumped on Marcus as his second and you don’t get a clue about what Ami is until mid way, then things starts unwrapping about what she is. One thing about Ami is she is strong and can fight right along with an Immortal and it doesn’t take Marcus long to figure out she’s different. These two fit together really well and the tension between is really hot, but it takes them a bit to really get going. I really enjoyed the wait.

The downside for me was the Immortals fighting with each other. Some of it seemed really childish. Still overall a great paranormal romance read that not to be missed.
