Interview with one of our reviewers Carridwen

Our next reviewer interview is with Cerridwen. She has been reviewing for about a month now and is really going at it.We meet in person a couple of years back at a local book signing and had became friends on goodreads. Books signings are a wonderful place to make new reading buddies.

First off please tell the readers a bit about yourself, please.
I am a 33 year mother of 2 teenagers and a preschool teacher with low income children. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 17 years.

Besides reading what do you like to do in your spare time?
Hike, gardening, bow hunt, geocaching

What the hardest thing to do when it comes to reviewing a book?
I don’t like to say when I find a book bad. I know that maybe I just didn’t’ like it and someone where will, but that’s part of it.

What is the biggest thing you look for when you review a book?
If it can “send me away” If I can fall into the book and not hear what’s going on around me due to the story, it’s a hit with me.

What are some of your favorite authors?
They are not all PNR authors: Sherrilyn Kenyon,  Gillian Flynn, Charlane Harris, George RR Martin, J.T. Ellison,  Anne Rice, Allana Knight, Karen Marie Moning, Deanna Raybourn, Diana Gabaldon

Author: Moira Rogers
Publisher: Samhain Publishing, Ltd.
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Shifters, Magic
Length: 226 pages
Reviewer: Twigs

Impulse (Southern Arcana, #5)Her submission can heal him. His dominance can free her.

Southern Arcana, Book 5

Sera Sinclaire is a New Orleans rarity: a submissive coyote trapped in a town overrun by dominant shapeshifters. Worse, she lacks the willpower to deny the alphas-in-shining-armor who need her soothing presence, even when their protectiveness threatens to crush her hard-won self-reliance.

The only shifter she doesn’t want to push away is Julio Mendoza, a wolf so dominant he’s earned a place on the Southeast council.

Julio doesn’t have the luxury of indulging in the vacation his psychic shrink insists he needs. He can't turn his back on responsibilities he’s beginning to wish he’d never shouldered. When an obsessive ex endangers Sera, though, instinct drives him to get her out of town. Watching her come to life outside the city makes him feel like he's finally done something right, and her touch ignites desire he doesn’t want to ignore.

But soon, lighthearted flirting becomes a dangerous game of seduction, where every day spent falling into each other is another day avoiding the truth. Sera's ex isn't the only one who’d disapprove of their relationship. There are wolves who would kill to get Sera out of Julio's life—starting with his own blood kin.

Product Warnings
Contains endless summer road trips, family drama, redneck werewolves, sexual power games and a taboo love affair between a submissive coyote who’s among the last of her kind and a dominant wolf who loves his heroine’s ass. Literally.

Incarnation by Emma Cornwall US only giveaway

This is not a paranormal romance, it's a paranormal steampunk fiction. I didn't want to pass up the giveaway offer from the publisher just in case any of you were interested in this book.

Blurb

In the steampunk

In the steampunk world of Victorian London, a beautiful vampire seeks out the author of Dracula–to set the record straight . . . If one is to believe Bram Stoker’s legendary vampire tale, Lucy Weston is Dracula’s most wanton creation, a sexual creature of the night who preys on innocent boys. But the real-life Lucy is nothing like her fictional counterpart—and she demands to know why the Victorian author deliberately lied. With Stoker’s reluctant help, she’s determined to track down the very fiend who transformed her—from the sensual underworld where humans vie to become vampires, to a hidden cell beneath a temple to madness, and finally into the glittering Crystal Palace where death reigns supreme.

Haunted by fragmentary memories of her lost life and love, Lucy must battle her thirst for blood as she struggles to stop a catastrophic war that will doom vampires and humans alike. Ultimately, she must make a choice that illuminates for her—and for us—what it means to be human.

Guest romance author Angie Fox and Giveaway!

Please welcome romance author Angie Fox!

Thanks for having me on the blog today. I’m going to be talking about something that I think is important to writing paranormals (one thing that we authors always seem to resist) and that is stepping outside the comfort zone.

It’s tough for me personally because there are so many things that can trip me up and twist me around while writing a book. Adding another element to the mix doesn’t always seem like the wise thing to do! But, it’s exactly what I know I need to do in order to keep readers guessing and coming back for more.

Of course, that doesn’t mean we writers aren’t allowed moments of panic during our enlightenment. For example, I sold a new series about a group of paranormal MASH doctors during a great supernatural war. I was all excited because Immortally Yours is a departure from the books I’ve written before. It has more of an edge.

And then…panic. I remember calling one of my writer friends about a week after I’d sold the book and asking her, “What did I just do? I told them I could write a book about an immortal war. I write funny. How am I supposed to pull this off?”

Once she calmed me down, and talked me into a bit of therapeutic chocolate (thank you, Kristin), I realized that the underlying drama of war could serve to bring the oddball personalities in the MASH camp together. These doctors and nurses don’t have much, but they do manage to find ways to save their sanity and create the kind of relationships that offer a port in the storm.

It forced me to grow as a writer, to push the story to places I’d never gone before. Yes, it was scary, but it was really cool too.

Blogger's Help Paws with a Cause sign up

Attention to all Bloggers!

Danielle at Romance Book Junkies and I have come up with a event we need your help with. We want to get as many bloggers together as possible to host a pet charity campaign called "Bloggers Help Paws with a Cause".

Above you see just a few of my fur babies. As an animal lover and reader I always wanted to know what kind of pets are behind  authors doors. So, I hosted a pet week event last year and had a great time with the authors pets post and the readers did too. This year I wanted to join with a fellow blogger and make "Pet week" bigger in hopes to help a great cause. I went to Danielle, she took over and found a great cause that I think everyone would like to help out with.  Paws with a Cause  has been very helpful in giving Danielle what we need to get stated and I hope to give them back even more.

This is a week long event from March 1- 8th 2013 featuring guest posts from author and bloggers about their pets. I know this sound far away but it gives you time to gather what you need for a week of guest post for the whole pet week. The guest posts may or may not have a separate giveaway.

How to work your week long event will be up to you, but we would like for all bloggers to post their pets guest post on March 1st 2013
The rest of the week you can find your favorite author and or fellow blogger to feature their pets. The author or blogger can host giveaways that week to spice things up in hopes to get more donations. Also make sure you have the charity link we will provide to let the followers donate. You will also need to add the button above to each of your guest post during that week.

If you would like additional help on how to go about pet week, please click here. This is just  a post with some suggestions on how my pet week was run last year.

The main giveaway will be a BN.com or Amazon.com gift card. The face amount will be determined by the number of bloggers participating in the blog hop and to do so, we need each participating blogger to send Laurie a $1 via Paypal at rlgarris3@yahoo.com (must be sent as a gift so no fees are taken out). Let me tell you that dollar amount is adding up fast because a lot of blogger are donating more then a dollar because they know this is a worthy cause.

Sign ups will stay open until January 31st and you will have until then to give your $1 to Laurie for the gift certificate giveaway this is not for the charity.

On March 8, everyone who donates to Paws with a Cause via the EverRibbon website will earn one entry per $1 donated to win the Bn.com or Amazon.com gift card  or one of two other prizes to be determined.

If this sounds like something you would like to do please please sign up its for a super, great cause. If you have any questions or concerns please email me at us either at romancebookjunkiesdanielle@yahoo.com  or bittenbyparanormalromance@gmail.com or leave a comment below.

Thank you for your time and I hope you join this worthy cause.

Need help on your 2013 pet week? Well, here is a post for you

I wanted to write a post to help those of you who signed up for Blogger’s Helps Paws with a Cause. This is a weeklong event. One day is for your pet posts so all you have to come up with 6 more days. I want to let you know what I did last year to help you get stated. This is something very simple it just is a bit time consuming and it takes someone who knows a bit about planning ahead of time.

You can either make a post on your blog so authors can come to you or sign up for the event, or you can email each one that you want to write a guest post. But you don’t have to limit yourself to just authors you can pick from bloggers and let them write up post about their pets.

Now what I did during pet week of 2011 was I had the authors write up their own post, reason because they know their pets and know how to make them shine. An interview would be very hard to do with a pet but you can give them a pet related topic. Remember to have the author or blogger send their pet pictures because everyone loves to see what kind of pets that you have.

See I told you it was simple, all it take is a bit of planning.

If you have any question please feel free to ask

Here are two examples from last year’s pet week.

Hope this helps.

Guest romance author Kellysten

Please welcome romnace author Kallysten

“You know, I could make it really good for you,” Nicholas whispered, his lips brushing the back of Andrew’s ear. “You wouldn’t have to do a thing, I’d take care of you.”
With a quick laugh, Andrew bucked, and promptly reversed their positions so that he was lying on top of Nicholas, pinning his hands down above his head.

“Not the way it works,” Andrew said in a low, rumbling voice. His eyes were glowing with molten gold. “I’m the one who takes care of you, remember?”

Nicholas arched his hips up so that his cock pressed against Andrew’s, both of them as hard and needy. Nicholas lowered his eyelids, affecting a coyness that was a mere echo from a long-gone time, and tilted his neck to one side to present his throat to Andrew.

Calling BDSM Authors and readers!

BDSM Authors vs. Bitten by Paranormal Romance Reviewers

November 1st – 30th 2012

The whole month of November, Bitten by Paranormal Romance will be playing the submissive role, while the BDSM authors will be in the dominate role. Since we are playing the submissive role, we will each have our own safe word. The safe word will be used if we can't finish the book. We will publish the review using the safe word and telling why we had to use the safe word.

I sent out a call to all BDSM authors a month back to bring their books and see if they can push out push our limits. Now, it’s time to see who used the safe word first.

This is open to all BDSM sub-genres, not just paranormal, so you get a good verity.

I the reviewers and I had so much fun hosting this challenge for you and the readers. We also want to think each author that had the courage in sending us their book to review.

I hope this challenge helps you in picking up your next BDSM read.

Happy reading
Laurie

Interview with one of our reviewers CaroleDee

Everyone please give a welcome to one of our own reviewers Caroldee.

I sent out a small interview with a few of my question and a few of our Facebook users questions, to each reviewer, in hopes this will help you get to know each reviewer better.

CaroleDee has been with us for sometime now, so I'm sure a lot of you have already gotten to know her quite well. What I know is she so much fun to chat with and she has become one of my biggest helpers on the blog.

First off please tell the readers a bit about yourself, please.
I’m a 28 year old mother of an extremely shy 6 year old. (Don’t ask me where he gets if from. I’m the weirdo that will talk the ear off a stranger in the grocery line) I’ve been married to my best friend for almost nine years. My father was in the Marine Corps and my husband is in the Air Force so I’ve been a military brat/spouse my entire life. I’ve lived in Japan, Germany, England, and 4 different states.  Needless to say I move a lot, and I love it! I dread the day when my husband retires because I honestly don’t know how to live in the same place for a long time. Not to mention I don’t even know WHERE I want to live permanently.  Ideas anyone?
