Building from Ashes - Release in 3 days

This is just a reminder for those who follow this series/author. I can't put up my review until the book is released on Amazon so I can insert links to the book so you could actually buy it. For reasons that I am still a bit confused about, she never has any pre-order links. I guess if your books are good enough (and her books are) you can do that and still be in the Top 100 Books on Amazon.

Their power gives them strength…and makes them targets.
Quinn Caldwell is the epitome of a modern goddess. Her power source is the moon, her abilities restricted only by physical resources and lunar phase. She runs a consulting business and her father’s bar, serves on the board of the ancient Society for Goddess Education and Defense, and yearns for Nick Jarrett, professional goddess protector and the soul mate she can never have.

But someone has developed the rare and difficult ability to drain a goddess of her powers, and Quinn is a target. With the world thinking Nick has gone rogue (whatever that means) and that Quinn is influenced by “family ties” she didn’t know she had, keeping themselves safe while working to find the enemy proves harder each day.

But not as hard as denying their hearts…

Characterfest #19 with Daniel by Natalie-Nicole Bates

Please welcome Daniel and Natalie-Nicole Bates

Natalie-Nicole interview Daniel Tremont from SEE ME

I’m thrilled to send some time with Daniel Tremont, hero of my new paranormal romance, SEE ME, available from Leap of Faith Publishing.

NNB: Daniel, it’s rumoured that you have eternal life. Can you tell me how this happened exactly?

DT: A long time ago, 1896, I was the unfortunate victim of a lumber mill fire—I was burned beyond recognition. I don’t really remember much except for waking up on an embalming table with the most beautiful brown eyes staring down at me. That’s only the beginning of it all, though.

NNB: Did you recognize these beautiful brown eyes?

DT: Of course, it was Charlotte Hopkins, daughter of the local undertaker. She was more than just a beautiful pair of brown eyes, she was…magic. What she did for me that day, was love.
NNB: Is it true that you are a Funeral Director?

DT: I have been, and I will be again. I’m much better with the dead than the living.

NNB: So, you’ve been in love with Charlotte all of these years?

Characterfest interview #18 with Theo and Tara Fox Hall

A huge THANK YOU to Bitten by Paranormal Romance for having me here today at Characterfest!
Here with us today to answer a few questions is Theo O’Connor of Tara Fox Hall’s Promise Me series.

THEO: Before we begin, I would appreciate you keeping the questions aimed toward me, not my employer, Danial Racklan.

Q: In your relationships with others, Theo, how are you different with family than you are with friends? Why?

THEO: I lost my family when I was attacked and turned into a werecougar in Adirondack State Park close to ten years ago. I don’t have any other family now, other than Danial, and some of his other bodyguards, who are my good friends.

THEO: I trust no one besides Danial, and the other guards he’s had for a few years. In my experience, you can’t trust someone you don’t know, and you can’t really know someone you just met. First impressions are useful, yes. I can always tell what new hires we have that are going to be long term, and which aren’t going to be able to take the constant violence that being a vampire’s guard entails. I’m not as disposed to trust as I used to be. Trust has to be earned.

When led into the world of her stories, Bryn finds her secret desires hidden in the darkness and behind every door.
Every day we encounter doors. Some of these doors are open to us and some of them are closed, but when we pass through any door, a different truth or mystery lies beyond the threshold.

The night Bryn is pulled into a world of her own stories by a shadowy being, her reality is changed forever. Souls and danger, hauntingly beautiful witches, sexy and dangerous vampires, a soldier with a dying wish; she knows that each door leads to a story and to outcomes she can't control, but in order to return home, Bryn must complete a set of tasks for the enigmatic and strangely sensual Darkness.

With four stories to enter, four items to retrieve, Bryn takes part in plot points so out of character that she almost loses herself in the tales she's written. More than once she questions her sanity and curses herself for creating such perilous realities, but she always remains focused on her goal; the creation of the fifth story.

Characterfest inteview # 17 with Jordan K Rose

Please welcome author Jordan K Rose

Laurie, thanks so much for having us on Bitten by Paranormal Romance. We’re really looking forward to meeting your readers. After some debate we’ve decided that Lucia will interview Vittorio for Characterfest. I’ll apologize up front if he’s a bit gruff and this turns out to be more of a monologue. He’s been cranky lately.

*Vittorio grumbles*

“Hi.” *Lucia waves* “I’m Lucia Dico—“

“Della Caccia,” Vittorio interrupts. “Our last name is Della Caccia.”

*Lucia grimaces.* “Right. I forget. Sorry. I haven’t used that last name in this lifetime. Jordan, you know he’s pretty sensitive about the last name issue.” *rubs Vittorio’s arm*

“Right. I do recall that coming up in another interview.”

“Jordan, I’m sure if you spoke to your husband he’d feel the same.” Vittorio glances from me to Lucia.

*smiles* “Right. I’m sure he would want me to use the proper last name. Lucia, why don’t you ask those questions we discussed before Vittorio turns this into a debate?”

“I’d love to.” *turns to face Vittorio* “So, Vittorio, please tell us a little something about yourself.” *smiles intently at Vittorio*

*sighs and raises an eyebrow*

Characterfest interview #15 with Emma Martian by Lynn Rush

Everyone please welcome Emma and Lynn Rush!

Hey everyone! Emma Martin here. Lynn Rush writes about my life as a Vampire Hunter in Violet Midnight (Official release date TODAY!).
I’ve made a bunch of appearances on Lynn’s blog with something I dreamed up called the Four Word Interview.
It was just a random thought one day, but it’s kind of taken off, so I thought I’d interview Lynn.
But she said no because she’s pretty boring, so she turned the tables and interviewed me.
The gist of it is…Four questions only, each question can only be four words or less. And get this…the answers can only be four words.
It’s harder than you think…
So, anyway. Here’s our interview:

Lynn Rush: Favorite time of day….
Emma Martin: Just before dawn.

LR: Fondest childhood memory is . . .
EM: Hugs from my dad

LR: Favorite food to eat . . .
EM: *rolls eyes*  Don’t eat, remember?

LR: If granted one wish. . .
EM: UGH (wait—does that count as a word?) *Lynn nods*  Somewhat normal life.

She always forgets I don’t eat **shakes head** Those writers, they are a little…spacey.
So, here’s the deal. I want to give away a copy of my book to a commenter…so, leave your *four word* answers to these questions in the comments, okay? I’ll draw a name from all who enter to win an autographed copy of Violet Midnight. If you’re not in the US or Canada, I’ll send you an electronic copy of the book. You can have it electronically signed through Kindlegraph, though!  J
Happy Answering….

Driven to write, Lynn Rush often sees her characters by closing her eyes watching their story unfold in her mind. Lynn Rush is a pen name that is a combination of two sources – Lynn, the first name of her mother-in-law, who passed away and Rush – since the author is a former inline speed skater and mountain biker. Review: Reawakened by Carrie Pulkinen

Title: Reawakened
Author: Carrie Pulkinen

Genre: Paranormal Romance
Length: Novel
Release Date : September 13, 2012
Reviewer: Jasmyn

Her magic has been reawakened. But will her heart let her follow her destiny?

Jules Hume lives in a world where magic is a myth and supernatural creatures are fiction. Or so she thinks. Her boyfriend Ian would have to disagree. When Jules discovers the man of her dreams is not only a vampire, but a vampire king who's tasked with saving the world from a demon attack, life as she knows it ends. Can she accept her fate and take her place by Ian's side as ruler of the paranormal world? Or will she close her mind and her heart to the chance at love and adventure?

I loved Jules Hume.  She was a strong single mom - raised her daughter by herself - and had long ago decided that she could make it on her own and didn't need a man.  She had sworn off love until she met Ian.  Ian was a bit of a mystery, working odd hours, unearthly beautiful, and undeniably appealing.  Jules is drawn to Ian and finds herself breaking the no need for love rule, but there is a good reason behind this....but I can't tell you or I might ruin the surprise.

My only real complaint about this book was with how easily Jules accepted the fact that Ian is a vampire.  I don't think any person in their right mind would be able to just move on and live with that information the way Jules does, but then she is a special woman.  There is a minor secondary romance between Jules' daughter and Ian's friend that at times added to the story, but at times it also drew too much attention away from the main characters.  Parts of this story moved a bit fast for my taste, but most of it was drawn out just enough to have to turn the next page to find out what happened.
